victor-vance Posted August 2, 2007 Share Posted August 2, 2007 ok basically an internet game called torncity have all of a sudden revamped there login page take a look at torncity.com now when i saw it i was thinking hmm that looks familier then when i palyed gta sanandreas later that evening i realised they had stolen the images and slightly edited them from variouse gta games. www.torncity.com (without the link this post is missing the point) now look at the log in page the woman with her tongue out.. compare it to sanandreas promo art fo the girl with her tongue out now look at gta lcs the man with a basball cap on the log in page is almost an exact duplicate of the yakuza/triad on the games box art cover. i have emailed take 2 about this, but i want the support of the gta comunity to complain to torncity about this and dont let them get away with it. (i put this in sanandreas due to the theft of sanandreas artwork) if a mod thinks this topic should be moved please do. and if the mods have a more direct contact line to take 2 please email them? I don't know... I don't see it illegal to use same looking people in Your site without the permission of the real creator. Yeah, and so are the ships in Star Trek. Atleast I noticed that the art isn't exactly the same as Rockstar uses, so I say, It's not illegal. A) it wasnt B) all of those that complained it looked too similar to gta and were told too shut up cus it was done by a pro artist were right in the first place In the Uk in order to be exempt from copy right there need to be seven differences between the ripped off work and the new work. This may be true for the woman but clearly ist true for the man and theres a difference between a spoof (which most likly did get permsion to use things such as ships ect) compared to just taking the work for personal gain Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
