Carbine23
I think it was notified that Mt. Chilliad was the tallest structure in GTA to date when Gta:San Andreas came out. Do you think the Empire State Building will be hire than mount chiliad or at least higher than the Los Santos Big Skyscraper and the Big Pointy Building? I think it has a chance of being the tallest structure in GTA but than again Mount Chiliad was high above the clouds....
wooozy64
No way, there are much more modern and taller buildings in NYC, like the MEtlife, and crysler building, and freedom tower (taking the place of the twin towers) speaking of Freedom tower, it is currently under construction as one of the tallest sturctures in the world. And if we look at the trailers/screen shots more carefully, we see a very tall building under constuction, possibly this tower... here, look at this about the chiliad thing, who really gives a sh*t. if it was above the clouds, you would pass out from lack of oxygen.. bigg z
The empre state building is the tallest in New York. Taller then the Chrysler, Metlife and whatever else he said was taller. Definitely. I've went to and seen NYC up close, and the Empire State Building is easily distinguished from any other structure in the city.

Where exactly in the trailer did you see the Freedom Tower under construction? I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed that no such thing exists. And in real life the Freedom Tower is still laying it's foundations, it's still 6 storeys below street level, and nowhere near completion, so if you saw a building 'under construction' in the trailer, it wouldn't be it. The building under construction in that youtube montage is 7 World Trade, which was actually completed last year, and is less than half the height of the original Twin Towers. Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
It doesn't matter what the highest building is if we can't go to the top of it. I agree that the Empire State Building will probably be the biggest point, but if we're not allowed to reach the rooftop, who cares, it'll suck. rasomaso
I have a 1 question: Back in GTA3 or Vice City or SA, there were those skyscrapers that looked really high, but does anyone here know how high they really were? I mean if they were actually of the same height as the original buildings in real. To put it simply - do you think there will be in IV even higher buildings than in previous games? xNewtype Acex
Well, with all of this vertical growth in the city I think we will see very tall buildings.
Vercetti21
Well, R* did say they wanted to expand more vertically. I would imagine that with the added realism the Empire State Buliding (which, yes, is the tallest point in NYC) would be pretty high. However I think it will probably be about as high or taller than Mount Chilliad because they could probably be making the buildings more to scale rather than just replicating them. Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
But can we get to the very top of these HUGE buildings, if not, then who gives a f*ck how big they are. And my question, can we grab hold of people this time around, through the combat system? Because I can't think of another way we can 'throw' someone off a building if we can't grab them.... Carbine23
I think you guys are confused? I'm not asking How tall do you think the Empire State Building will be in GTA4... gtaluva
I'm sure you;ll be able to go to the top of the Empire Sate Building. Why wouldn't you be able to? you have been able to go to all the tallest buildings in SA. plus the ESB is such a famous landmark I see no reason why you woudln't be able to go to the top. mikesta
It'll probably be the tallest since it is the tallest building in NYC. Or maybe they'll just make a taller building where Ground zero is suppose to be. (I doubt it)
