Scarface187
So yeah, about 3 months ago, most of us film goers were blessed with a movie by the name of Grindhouse. While mostly everyone I know who has seen the film loved it, it still failed at the box office sadly and wasn't in theaters for long. Well now the time has come and there is news about the DVD releases of these two awesome films. Click. While I'm kind of pissed off about the DVD's being released seperately, I'll still very stoked about the films being uncut with all kinds of bonus features. Plus you know down the road theres likely to be a boxset as well. Edited August 1, 2007 by Scarface187

Yeah, I just pray they come to their senses and release them both together cause really wtf? 30 bucks for a single DVD? and if they pull a Kill Bill we'll be waiting for a long ass time. I still want that damn uncut DVD.

Scarface187
Yeah. Sucks how such a good movie gets dicked around with like this.
No Escape?
well that's just ridiculous. At least there's a hefty amount of features, as well as the "missing reel" scenes.
Andyzoot
We have to wait till September before we can see Grindhouse at cinemas and even then it's just the one part and I think that's Death Proof so I have no idea what's going on with Planet Terror. Maybe I'll import from America for Grindhouse.
XN22
Honestly, who really gives a f*ck about special features? I don't really want to watch an hour long video about what the makeup guy does...
TenaciousD.
It sucks there releasing both seperatly in the UK, whats going to happen to the ads in the middle? And that probably means no chance of a DVD released before Christmas. Although, I must say the Planet Terror DVD boxart, this one is probably the coolest I've seen all year. Attorney General
I'll buy the Death Proof DVD, but I though Planet Terror was only so-so. I'm f*ckin bummed that we won't get the movie trailers on each individual DVD. I suppose we'll have to wait another two or three years for a 35 dollar "Super Special Combined Unrated Unedited Unscripted Extra-gory Director's Cut- Blood-and-Guts Edition". These greedy bastards will nickel and dime us for every cent they can.

I don't really want to watch an hour long video about what the makeup guy does... People who love movies and like to know how they were made and what not. It must suck for the people in other countries. Being released a long while after they've been in theaters here and being released seperately. One of the things that made Grindhouse so awesome to see in the theaters was the way they structured it like a real double feature drive in movie. Bastards. Xo4
WHAT THE f*ck? now I got to wait at least two months just to get all of Grindhouse and they're separated and without the fake trailers...? Then I have to wait ages for them to release at least both movies together whether or not they have the trailers? I hate producers, sometimes. I see all these so called "special editions" with a few featurettes, for 10$ more.
topdogkiller
I'm waiting until they release a collector's edition with both included. I did that with Sin City when everyone rushed to get it. I hate it when companies release multiple copies of the same movie with special features. I wish there was a device where you could compress all the new features into the same movie disc you bought first. I guess I'll probably have to wait till December. JoeyLeone25
Shocking to say (according to RT) that it only made $24 million at the cinema's in America in four weeks. Then again, a mate showed me exactly why. I showed him the trailer. He said it looked, poorly made, old and 'sh*te'. I then explained to him the logistics of 'Grindhouse Films/Cinema' and what QT/RR had done. He then nodded and said 'I'll probably see it with you then'. I mean at first glance to the typical un-educated-happy-go-larry-ooh-thats-shiny-I-like-bombs-and-guns cinema-goer, this looks nothing more than two films from the 80's. However the small minority ($24 million dollars worth of us) do know what the score is with Grindhouse. And I can't wait to see it on the big-screen.
