araknidude
taken from: www.teamxbox.com -"While we don’t know exactly how the Internet will work, we do know that you’ll have access to dating services, email, travel and shopping, amongst other things." -"During this one, we learned that ol’ Francis was caught on film doing something naughty, so he “asked” Niko to go take care of the situation." -"Now, I’ve played all of the Grand Theft Auto titles, but I never felt the emotional impact of the violence as much as I did with this one. First off, the crack of the pistol shattered the relative silence of the scene, and all of the journalists in attendance let out a collective gasp (as well as an extended “Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn.”). Our target’s reaction to being shot was exaggerated and a bit unnerving, his head snapping back violently and blood gushing into the air as the crumpled to the ground. The game’s combat is quite intense (more on that in a bit), but somehow this execution-style killing disturbed us more than taking on a bunch of cops." (I would just like to note that this has come up before; the pistols sounding like a thunderclap and that the deaths are more disturbing and are presented as a fact of reality and not exaggerated or glorified) -"We were told that while the game will have Pay ‘n Sprays, they’ll be few and far between. -"The car will take damage realistically, so your whip may be pretty banged up after a high speed chase." (not really new, but confirmed) -"While Rockstar’s reps told us that it was placeholder, it appears that you will be able to tell how much energy your targets have left in the tanks." (means you can see how much health they have left. I'm sure this will make it into the final cut) just a few new details. I'm sure that if some unimportant detail such as Goldberg's name being Tom could make it on the front page of gta4.net, then this info is a shoe-in for being on the front page. jim2
No, Pay N Spray is not in-game. Thats not correct. "Pay 'N' Spray is still in business, enabling you to give a 'hot vehicle a new lease of life with a fresh paint job, but you no longer need it to lose the law. Instead, commit a crime and circles appear on the radar showing the cops' field of vision- get outside these and you lose the police. However, the greater the star rating the larger these rings get." araknidude
No, Pay N Spray is not in-game. How are you going to try and tell me it's NOT in game when the above information (and links to that information) state the opposite. That's like you telling me your name is Stefan, then me replying, "No, it's NOT Stefan." It's not known if it will decrease your wanted level or not, but it is in the game. No, I think he means that the cars will dent and scratch realistically. The cars will probably react to high speed crashes a bit like Forza Motorsport. FullMetal
Nice nice ... I'm so excited. My hopes/thoughts are that this is going to be the BEST GTA gameplay/graphically. (but than again, every GTA is superb).
nlitement
IIRC Francis handed over cash to some dude. I hope the "epically violent" thing doesn't go too far, if it's like in Mafia.. because GTA is all about truly epic lulz!! >:\

PSNr
Wow! I've found these details better than Kikizo's. Topic poster, can you please provide a direct link source? I expect this in-game internet feature to be the new controversy. GTA isn't GTA unless it brings some controversial content with it. I already can imagine the amount of hidden websites that can only be accessed through cheats, mods, etc.

Even though it's just a hunch, I'm going to have to agree with Jim. I'm guessing there has to be some way to get your vehicle repaired, along with a method of changing a disliked paint scheme. Not adding this feature would only be a back step for Rockstar. Surely they wouldn't do that. As for the comment about the gun - wow. I cannot wait to hear this for myself. I'm only saddened that I don't have a great sound system to hear it on. Guess I'll be looking for a friend with a very pricy surround sound set-up. I hate to rush the rest of the warm months away, but this game gets better with every detail. Almost forgot. Thanks for the new info.

reptilexcq
Damm looks like the game's violence is very disturbing...because i also heard that running over peds with a car is also disturbing...now they're talking about head snap back.
Stefan
You guys dont understand. Just because someone published that on his website or magazine, doesnt mean its true. Many previews before it was confirmed that Pay N Spray wasnt in the game. Including the Kikizo 10 Page article, that states this: I bolded the important bits. ...now without pay n spray, it wont be so easy to escape the wanted level as it used to be. And the Kikizo article was released less than a week ago. 2 or 3 days tops. Edit: Considering both articles were released the same day, I`m very biased. Just because some articles say there will be no Pay n Sprays, doesn't mean it's true either. The preview states that the journalists from TeamXbox were told that there will be a few Pay n Sprays. Other previews were just assuming them to be gone due to their immediate absence. I remember reading a preview that said AmmuNation would return, but they were wrong. I'll bet that other previews were wrong too. I'm not saying it's 100 percent confirmed to be in the game, I'm just not willing to rule it out completely. We have evidence going both ways, so the possibility is indeed there. Maybe it won't be called Pay n Spray, or maybe it'll offer different functions. Either way, dont be so quick to rule things out. People can be misinformed or publish errors. Just take it all with a grain of salt; nothing is set in stone yet.
ryuclan
The part about Niko shooting that guy is the craziest sh*t I ever heard. This game might actually be the best game ever....from now, to forever. (or at least another GTA comes out)
Snake Without a Tongue
The other magazines comments on Pay N Spray were only concerned about the wanted level. It makes sense that they're still in game for the sake of repairing a vehicle. Just not necessary for losing heat. And yeah, I'm really looking forward to this game. I'm desperate to see what a mindless rampage will look like with a new engine. Gears of War on an urban street. Sweeeeeeet!

gta_xtc
This is apparently the biggest city ever seen in a GTA, and while it’s not as large as the state of San Andreas, it’ll still take about an hour to drive across it.[/QUOTE] A whole hour? While we don’t know exactly how the Internet will work, we do know that you’ll have access to dating services, email, travel and shopping, amongst other things Travel?? arranging flights? ?they said planes are out? Shopping ....maybe you can access Binco stores via net and order your clothes to safehouses...cool ,dating....ok...as long as there are no porn things that will make rockstar ..closed During this one, we learned that ol’ Francis was caught on film doing something naughty, so he “asked” Niko to go take care of the situation ..reminds me of film studio missions from VC The car will take damage realistically, so your whip may be pretty banged up after a high speed chase Finnaly eal car crashes not like on previous games where you just get crashed, maybe if you crash at max spped you explode instantly... During this one, we learned that ol’ Francis was caught on film doing something naughty, so he “asked” Niko to go take care of the situation i wonder if they will be like old ones or actually be something as a car wash

Sorry but in the latest OPM Uk Magazine it clearly states: "Pay 'N' Spray is still in business, enabling you to give a 'hot vehicle a new lease of life with a fresh paint job, but you no longer need it to lose the law. OPM UK's SEPTEMBER MAG (GTA IV PREVIEW) This Is A Small 2 Page Preview In OPM UK's Septembers Mag Titled "To Live And Die In Liberty City" (Scans) Page 1 Page 2 I also found a new detail in the preview: "You can make calls to real-life friends to start online multiplayer game, although that's all Rockstar will currently say on that subject."
