San Andreas Performance Tool 3.3

user posted image

ABOUT

SAPT is a utility that allows you to tweak some important performance related settings in Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. To improve quality of gameplay, particularly on older systems or to help max out on higher end machines.

There are two versions included, for single player and multiplayer. The difference between the two being the frame limiter lock disabled on the multiplayer version, as this can give a player slight advantages in online play. Something we do not encourage.

IMPORTANT

SAPT only works with version 1.0 of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.

Some anti-virus/spyware programs may detect the programs hotkeys dll as a keylogger, it is infact nothing of the sort.

A small ammount of users have reported SAPT slows their game down while running, once you have enabled your desired tweaks, simply close the program.

FEATURES

- Lock frame limiter to either 30, 40, 50 or 60.

- Disable visual effects including specular lighting, motion blur and heat haze.

- Increase realism of dynamic shadows or disable them completely.

- Reduce draw distance to extremely low settings that can't normmaly be accessed via the games options menu.

USAGE

SAPT and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas must both be running in order to activate any tweaks.

Once you are in game, you may either minimize and click a tweak you wish to enable or alternativly press its hotkey.

You may close SAPT after you have enabled any desired tweaks.

It seems to do a pretty good job in SAMP, framerate is somewhat stable now.

Although, my biggest problem in SA performance wise, is smoke, my framerate drops to 15 when doing a burnout, and only slightly higher when slipping.

Is there any way to have an option to disable the smoke, or, possibly, all particles?

Awesome work there, Slick... it's great to see the new version of SAPT has the option of disabling the 30fps toggle, since using this would get you kicked on a multiplayer server, since MTA is locked to 25fps... anyhigher and anticheat will boot ya.

So folks! If you're getting kicked while using the tool, get the updated version from the DRuG forums, at the link Slick provided.

Thanks everyone, in regards to your questions...

About the smoke, there are so many different types for different objects in-game. Cars, buildings, weapons etc that it would probably be difficult to locate the correct smoke address that your looking for.

Yes, the trainer will need to be run each time you play the game.

PS: If you know the various memory addresses for each type of smoke, let me know! I may just use that in a future version perhaps (with credit off course)

Slick' date='Jul 28 2007, 12:55'] I present to you my San Andreas Performance Tool...

SAPT is a trainer like program allowing you to tweak some important performance related settings whilst running the game. To improve quality of gameplay, particularly on older systems or to help max out on higher end machines.

There are two versions included, for single player or multiplayer. The only difference between the two is the 30 fps frame limiter lock being disabled on the multiplayer version. The reason for this being we don't want any cheaters using the tool to gain speed avantages over regular players without SAPT. Any attemps on using the single player version on multiplayer mods will most likely result in a kick! It is meant to be a friendly tool to help those play San Andreas comfortably.

NOTE: SAPT only works with version 1.0 of San Andreas! Some anti-virus/spyware programs may detect the programs hotkeys dll as a keylogger, it is infact nothing of the sort.

Happy tweaking biggrin.gif

Only 1.0? Damn!

Is there anyway to make it work with the newer ones?

Hi, how do I get NOD32 to ignore the files as keyloggers? (I read the Readme txt; they aren't.) They get put straight into Quarantine and I can't exclude them.

Cheers smile.gif

EDIT: I think I can just add them to the AMON Exclusions and they should be ignored as potential threats.

Hey, can you make it work for the cracked 1.01 EU exe?

I hate the damn bug with the cars not able to get clean. So I use the exe told about above.

It would be pretty nice if you can do that! Please make it possible.

[DRuG]Slick, I have one problem.

I have San Andreas on other computer, and when I try to move it from one computer to another (by pendrive), then, when I decompress the archive, .exe disappears...

Why?

When I try to open it straight from the archive (ot his other computer), an error appears so it's impossible to open it,, ;/

[DRuG]Slick

Darecki, I have no idea why that is happening. Have you tried compressing all the file yourself and copying that archive?

GTA Realizzer, I currently have no plans to update SAPT as I'm too busy with school etc, but if I do decide to update it, support for version 1.1 is on my to do list.

About H@tKeysH@@k.DLL, maf is completely correct.

SAPT is completely safe, the reason your anti-virus software may detect it as a trojan etc is because some virus have used H@tKeysH@@k.DLL for malicious purposes.

It is like batch files, they are not bad, but in the wrong hands some pretty harmful scripts can be created.

Yeah, after a quick research I found out that most trainers use this dll for the hot keys. It IS used for malicious purposes, but only if there are two other exes in your System32 folder, temp#.exe and temp.exe.
