Drifting varies from car to car. You should only apply small pressure when turning with cars with low-grip. High grip cars require more effort. If you find yourself turing too fast, press the opposite (for example, turning right, press left) button immedietly.

First of all you should get good car for drifting, Infernus is good, but the best is Elegy. Also, better try to use default handling file, for improving your drifting skills. (Not modding skills.) Now just find place for drifting. (I like car parking places in LS and LV, and SF roads.) To drift just get quite good speed (but speed isn't very important), press brakes for 0.5 sec, press left or right and then press up, it's really easy. wink.gif

Use the infernus or elegy. Those are the best ones to drift with biggrin.gif

I like Infernus the most, because you have most control of the car

Lol I also drift with a monster truck mercie_blink.gif

get either the infernus or the Elegy, find a bending road or any other patch of ground where drifting is possible, get upto speed (and speed matters in drifting, so make sure ur going fast), then basically turn left or right only a little bit, press ur handbrake so the car drifts more and more smoke comes out from the rear, and keep pressing up to keep the throttle going... its pretty easy. Only thing is, if u turn too much initially you'll just spin out so control ur turn, handbrake, and keep the throttle on and you'll soon start creating large drifts smile.gif

~Tips on Drifting~

As you approach any corner...say to the left...let go off the accelerator and press [HANDBRAKE] +

at the same time to swerve to the right, and then [HANDBRAKE] +
to swerve to the left. The trick is to simply steer away from the corner and steer back to it! - but the opposite pretty much has the same effect.

Hint: Make sure you are using the WASD configuration. Use those as the directional buttons, and use the [sPACEBAR] as the handbrake.   biggrin.gif

More tips to come...

when i turn on a corner i end up spinning.

As in real-life driving, you have to make adjustments to the steering wheel ASAP! To do this: when approaching any corner and you decide to turn left, immediately turn right and use the handbrake at the same time to straighten the car.

4-wheel Drifting:

If you have these kinds of vehicles, they behave just like the handbrake. If you turn and you think you are about to go offroad, then use the handbrake to turn better! However, after you have done this, the vehicle might spin out - so just turn towards the opposite direction before this happens, and apply the handbrake again if necessary.

Still not satisfied? The "Driving School" will help you become a better drifter!

Stadium racer drifting:

Simple! The cars you are in are fast and skid easily, so it's possible that you never have to use the handbrake! To accomplish this, one must keep tapping in whichever direction they want to take a corner at so as to keep relatively close to the bank. So say you want to turn right smoothly - once you see that you are about to head in a straight direction, let go off the accelerator and now hold down the key used to turn right.

There are some corners where if you go fast and turn at the same time you'll skid and will spin out. To avoid this, turn in the opposite direction as soon as possible (how long you should hold the turning key in the opposite direction depends on how strong skid is).

notify.gif i suggest a monster truck for drifting they seem to glide over the road and to drift better when coming up to a corner handbrake quite early the car will slide, after about 3 go's you should be able to do drifting perfectly it was easy for me to learn after a while you will just drift perfectly all the time.
