The car will be positioned slightly towards the right side. This could be a test to see how the camera angle works in different positions. In one of the early previews, it was stated to be a little more to the back of the car, giving the players an uncomfortable, but precise view. So basically, the car is driven a little to the left. (54 * 348) + (400 * 55) + 120 000 = 160 792 So, yeah, it might look slightly bigger than you might expect of a 3/4, but mathematically, it's accurate. 3/4s of 400x400 is quite obviously 300x300. Square-roots are applied before multiplication. You all have to remeber that there is no OPEN CONTRY SIDE...So when the map is 3/4 the size of SA Thats ALL CITY...No miscolanious OPEN SPACE and things that just really wernt nessasary! Now multiply that by .75 and you get 3/4 of the total area, 160000*.75 = 120000. Now for me to be able to draw a square of it, I need to find out the square root.. sqrt(120000) ≈ 346. So, now I open up a new file in Photoshop, 346x346, fill it with red, then copypasta it into the original one. Voilà, a red square that represents 3/4 of the AREA, not the width or height. I don't know if I really like the sound of that, but I can't say that until I play it. Yeah im kinda feeling weird about that too. If its just directly over the driver (you, to give it a little more of a realistic effect) then it wont be so bad, I just dont want it to be way far to the left, like the car is partly offscreen lol. I doubt its that extreme though. If it is, hopefully theyll include an option for classic angle. Forgive me if I'm wrong but whenever I was aiming or shooting at a targets head, the shot would blow it clean off and their decapitated body would slump to the floor. I can't remember if this was the case for bosses but I doubt it as many had stronger health levels than regular peds. lastmanonearth Posted July 25, 2007 Share Posted July 25, 2007 (edited) You should be able to tell that is 3/4 just by looking at it, because the outside part of the bordered area is the widest and the outside area is distributed across a wide area rather then concentrated in a box, which only makes it 'seem' like somewhat of a 1/5th. But it's definitely 3/4. I really did enjoy the space in San Andreas but I think the size of Liberty City in GTA IV is going to be enough as it will be a lot more dense with interiors and rooftops and all that stuff San Andreas didn't really have. I can't remember if this was the case for bosses but I doubt it as many had stronger health levels than regular peds. but not with some guns...like when you shoot someone with a pistol in the head in sanan they just flinch and blood comes out of them but they are not dead. this looks like that with any gun, weak or strong ped swill die from headshots. I don't get it. by takin 400 x 400 and makin it 300 x 300, u're takin 3/4 of each side... say u took half instead of 3/4, that would be 200 x 200, which only be 1/2 of each side, which will only be 1/4 of the whole map... u did 9/16 of the map, which is only like 56% of the map... i think nlitenment has it right... but off the math topic... i think the green circle around the map is a pretty gay (no offense) replacement for a life guage or percentage...
