TheDude5000
Classic Gaming Discussion Since that other topic was obviously going nowhere, I decided to start this one. Discuss emulators(but no links of course), post screens, vids(preferally embedded youtube vids), favorite consoles(but no harsh arguments or fanboyism, please), classic titles, etc. Pretty much every gen except the current one is the topic. I'm not sure if this'll last, but hey I'll try. Zelda OOT(IMO best game of all time) Boss Battles: Volvagia Phantom Ganon Some KOTOR screens: All of those were taken in-game, by me. Really breath-taking game visually, even at low GFX settings. Anyway, I know these are more recent games, but the topic is open to much older stuff as well. Blackadder.
Ah, brings back memories of the old N64. Banjo Kazooie+Banjo Tooie were probably my favourite, along with Mario Party ofcourse. Anyone else here played Banjo Kazooie/Tooie? Nice pics of KOTOR by the way.

GodGell
You want oldschool? Try Prince of Persia - the original one! Straight from 1989-1990 (it runs fine (including sound) with DOSBox 0.70)... The game runs at 320*200, so I doubled the screenshots in size to make them easier to see. Swordfighting is kinda cool: ... I got pwned Holy sh*t! Grim result of a dumb move I took this shot immediately as the prince started to jump...
TheDude5000
Oi Godgell, wha happened? Nice screens everyone. Yeah Banjo-Kazooie/Banjo-Tooie are some of the best action/adventure games ever. When I saw last year's Banjo-Threeie teaser vid I went a little nuts. And the KOTOR screens, I got tons of 'em. Krayt Dragon from Tatooine: Kinda watching Back To The Future now, so I'm busy, but I'll try and get more screens/vids up later.

Skyline_Mad
I remember Prince of Persia, i think i had it on the Amiga or something, i was sh*t at it though, kept falling off the edges lol. I havn't played it for like 10 years. I was thinking about Sega Rally Championship (Sega Saturn) the other day after reading about Sega Rally Revo, i wouldn't mind playing the original one again, but don't have my saturn anymore, and the PC demo is crap, the sound doesn't work, and its just not the same without sound, especially with that crazy " "bit when you loose/finnish a race. It was a good game at the time (first full 3D racing game i ever played) but with only 3 tracks and 3 cars to choose from, it didn't have much of a lasting appeal. Whenever i play any of the Gran Turismo games and i see either the Lancia Delta or the Toyota Celica (cant remember what the other car was, maybe a another Lancia), it always reminds me of the old days playing Sega Rally. And is there anybody who doeasn't like the early Sonc games music (Sonic 1-3, Sonic knuckles etc..? those games have some of the best game music ever (i know its only midi sort of tracks but they are still cool), they must have taken ages to create, they go so well with the levels and show many different music styles. my favorite tracks are probably Sonic 3s Ice Cap 1+2 and S&Ks Flying Battery 1+2. Some rock band should do some covers for some of the songs, like the Megadeth cover of the Duke Nukem theme was cool, if u never heard the original, you would never know it is a cover of an old Midi track lol, it just sounds like a norma metal song, they did a great job. Theres a Heavy Metal Rock band called Megadriver that do covers of tracks from some games, but only has done one Sonic track, Sonic one stage one, and has one WIP, the Flying Battery one stage. If you want to hear the sonic tracks go to their website: http://www.megadriver.com.br/sitev2.html Click the mp3 link and look down the list for the 2 sonic tracks, they have done quite alot of other sega games, and also others consols, theres a GTAVC Theme cover aswel, but its hard to work out whats going on (being heavy metal music). Gouveia
Aw man, 3D graphics on a Snes? f*ck, that's real good! StarFox is a f*cking classic game, nobody could live without playing it. But the one I love the most? Grand-Theft-Auto. And also the good ol' simpsons arcade.

E.A.B.
I'm a street Fighter man if games such as OoT count, so does this (click images to enlarge) Street Fighter Alpha 3 (1998) Street Fighter II:Champion Edition (1993) I'm a Ryu man also Oh, and seeing as how this game just doesn't get enough exposure: Street Fighter III:New Generation (1997 [i doubt any of you even played this game]) of course, none of these games actually count as being from the "classic" age", but they are pretty old. HawaiianHardHitter
One of my all time favorite videogames for the N64 has gotta be WWF No Mercy. The best wrestling game all around. Another honorable mention of mines is Conker's Bad Fur Day. It was like Grand Theft Auto meets Crash Bandicoot/Sonic/Spyro/Mario.
*MURDOC*
Street Fighter III:New Generation (1997 [i doubt any of you even played this game]) holy........sh*t........... I never thought id see that again!
Brutuz
Dragon Valor for PSX IGN review. They say it had low Replayability, but I used to only ever play this game, and I had Tekken, Driver, DBZ Ultimate Battle 22, South Park Racing and a couple more fun games that I don't remember. I also once played Pitfall on the 2600 with my cousins, I only just remember that though.

Well I don't know if there's any official "classic" age, but yeah those would definitely fit. For this specific topic, here's how it's defined: Consoles: Only up to the last gen. XBox, PS2, GameCube, Game Boy Advance, etc. PC: Much harder to define. Something like Jedi Knight 2, or KOTOR II, or Deus Ex, would be considered sorta last gen. However, games like Oblivion, Bioshock, Crysis, obviously newer-gen stuff, wouldn't really fit into the topic. Anywah, more N64 stuff(all my screens): Rusty Bucket Bay: Bongo Bongo: Funny story about this. Last Summer, I recorded OOT Boss Battles with Fraps. Well when I got to the Shadow Temple, at that time, Fraps had been malfunctioning. It'd crash my PC and cause me to re-boot at random times where I attempted to capture screens or vid. Well, it happened in the middle of me recording this partiuclar battle. When I checked the resulting vid after rebooting, it was corrupt. I tried a few more times, but eventually I just got sick of it and gave up. That's why my youtube account Zelda videos only go up to Volvagia. Also, the Morpha battle was too long and repetitive, so I didn't bother trying to record that one.
dills
Seems like the right topic to ask in. I'm in need of a little help for finding out the name of an old Commodore 64 game I was in love with. You played as a fox and you kinda ran around and ate chickens or something as the screen panned from left to right, unfortunately I can't remember anymore details than that. Any ideas? Trows
Just been playing through Kirby Superstar co-op over ZSNES with a friend, awesome stuff. Any recommendations for SNES games with coop or even just filled with minigames? No dough this post will get questions and and maybe even some fighting. dills
If you haven't played Super Mario Kart for the SNES (you probably have) then I'd really recommend you check that out, had many great times back in the day playing on the battle mode and one on one races with friends. *Cue the nostalgic smile*
poopskin
i've played MK64, but not the SNES original. Latest classic i fail at: Earth Bound. Damn sharks. Also "Rockman MegaWorld/Mega man: the wily wars", 16-bit remakes of the first 3 mega/rockman games for the sega genesis. if you download a rom, get Rockman megaworld. if you get the wilywars, there will be gameplay lag and the music sounds terrible in the EU/USA versions. that game still kicks my ass.
