Liberty city Stories is the Most Underrated Gta IMO yer granted it had less content than vcs but it made up for it with a better Storyline and Cast Of Characters.

Underrated, yes...

But IMO VCS wiped it's ass with it.

Underrated? I saw this game in every PSPs memory storage.

Not many people have a PSP or a PS2 and the modern gamers are blind graphics whores who dont know how amazing the oldengolden games are with the story, features, voice acting and such. VCS is a very underrated game indeed. The features are great, the story is meh but the epic suprise moments (take Phil Collins and a lot of returning chars for example) and neon lights and really the beauty of the city with the nostalgic feeling you get makes it a perfect game. It's a bit better than SA imho and beats V pretty easily but that's just my opinion.

In short: Amazing game and indeed toooooo underated.

Actually I think you are right. It is very common in PSP players but if we compare VCS with orginal Vice City, GTA SA and 3, it is underrated :( There are lof of fans other GTA's, most of the players know GTA VCS but they aren't fan of it but I like this game more than orginal Vice City which has lot of fans.

i am going to have to agree with this. and since tbogt is technically a standalone as well, i would say that lcs and tbogt are underrated and better than vcs, ultimately. :p

the story was much more fleshed out than in lcs, but there were too many seriously annoying characters in vcs, and vic just kinda seemed like a bitch saving them all the time.

While playing the game I came to the conclusion that VCS is the best looking PS2 game ever.

I mean in overall sense.

Okay, some pre rendered games and sports games might have higher quality visuals in places, but given the size of vice city it really is amazing how much detail there is. And then there is the beautiful light and weather effects... I've played a lot of xbox360 games that look lot worse. And I mean a lot.

I think that title might go to "Liberty City Stories" but yeah both are underrated. Though they do feel kinda empty if you know what I mean.

VCS had great content and sidemissions for getting and after 100%, but the story itself was strange and felt kinda pointless to be honest. Once again, 'empty'.

it's either the PSP games or GTA Advance, yeah.

the stories games were a masterpiece. shame there was no San Andreas Stories. san andreas needed a prequel more than Vice city or III.

yeah, but GTA SA was succesful enough and It will be kinda pointless to recreate the entire state of San Andreas on PSP just because the other two games have a prequel.

Every GTA game has its pros and cons. There is no "best" or "worst" GTA game as gaming's taste is all based on person's opinion and interest. Personally, I enjoy playing every GTA game, few I play more than others because I find particular GTAs I play more fit my taste more than others, but it does not mean I dislike them. I admit I have not played every single GTA, like GTA London 1961 (I only played 1969), GTA Advance and sadly, yes GTA V fully as I do not own a PS3/4 or Xbox 360/One.

I played both GTA LCS and VCS and loved them both.

Could've had a prequel set within the confinds of LS. It would be cool to have a set of missions based around the cutscene prequel, whilst playing as one of the deceased gang members Sweet referred to (Tony, Big Devil, Little Devil). Could even have your protagonist living in one of the smaller houses on Grove Street.

I'd love to play through that, get involved in Tenpenny and Pulaski's corruption before the main story and see how they made the initial connections with Smoke and Ryder - all while hearing Sweet incessantly bitch about CJ running to LS.

Or to really mix things up, have you playing as a Ballas OG and show you how they got their foot into the crack trade, and have you involved in the drive-by shooting that killed Beverly.

I got to admit, when I got the game in 2007 on PS2 I wasn't that impressed - I liked the soundtrack, but couldn't get into the game.I really don't know why, I just couldn't. I completed it, but never went back to it after that. Still got the game, might give it another go.

Certainly underrated. It was the first GTA I bought and it is my favourite in the series. I loved everything about, Vic's morals, the soundtrack, the army vibe, the tone of the atmosphere, flying dat heli with a minigun, having the best melee combat introduced to the series and being black (not a serious point but still). I loved that game from finish to end

This is probably down to me, but I found this game appallingly frustrating, both in game design and mission structure. Some of the missions put my handheld in serious danger of being shattered to pieces. If preferring GTA V to this is wrong, then I don't want to be right.

To be quite honest, I was never the biggest fan of Vice City Stories. The amount of side missions is big, but they are not the most fun. Most of them are just frustratingly boring. I didn't like some of the missions either. I think Light My Pyre was the worst mission due to dumb AI.

I will say it had a killer soundtrack though. Stranglehold is one of my favorite songs ever.

Most underrated game is CW, cause IMO being underrated is defined by how many people love a game vs. how many hate it, and while some people loved CW almost everyone was bashing it out during its release.

ANYWAYS, yes, this game is underrated, but it (and also LCS) is underrated bcause it never got a PC release so all those PC Master Race fa**ots couldn't play them without the use of emulators, thus they're crap to them

I like VCS more than any of the HD Era, including CW, however of the 5 3D Era GTA's (III, VC, SA, LCS, VCS), VCS is my least favorite of the lot. I've already finished 3 Saves to 100% but even with the skills to complete it, it's still not very good to me...I get bored with VCS a lot...

I think Light My Pyre was the worst mission due to dumb AI.

This is because idiot Lance drives in front of your bullet spray. How to avoid? Do a driveby on the Sentinel XS enemies. Don't shoot forward at them, or retard Lance will drive in front of you, depleting his health. When you get to Diaz' Mansion, that isn't hard, since at least in my case, Vic is Fire Proof for completing the Fire Truck Level 15, so taking down the goon in the Mansion is the easiest part of the Mission. He dies in seconds...

Something else that I forgot to mention is that this game felt pointless. VC didn't need a whole game to explain its backstory, specially when said game focused on Quentin's history and didn't ever mention other characters such as Ken 'Rosie' Rosenberg or Kent Paul that needed a little backstory (it did have Phil Cassidy though). A 20 minute clip, like the one SA got, would've sufficed. Meanwhile, SA had A LOT to answer for. How did GSF and the Ballas form? When did they start hating each other? Why? When did yay start being introduced into the city? How did Tony, Big Devil, Little Devil, and any other OGs die? When did B Dup and Big Bear abandon the GSF? How did the Loco Syndicate form? How and when did VLA and LSV form and start hating each other? Who is The Truth? When did Pulaski join Tenpenny? When did Tenpenny start being corrupt? Is he actually from the hood, like (I think) was mentioned in the game once? When did the Mafia set up the casino? Which Mafia actually set it up? And the million dollar question: How did Brian Johnson die? Almost none of this was answered in The Introduction. San Andreas Stories actually had a reason to exist

Hard agree. Apart from the stellar soundtrack (with tracks like "Relax", "Blue Monday", "Easy Lover" and "I'm In Love With A German Film Star", how could you go wrong?) and setting I also thought Vice City Stories had some of the best character development in the GTA III era. Take Vic for example, he starts out as extremely hesitant to commit crimes as a soldier, before slowly transitioning into the drug baron that he eventually becomes by the beginning of Vice City. You could actually observe this transition based on his fighting/stealing/taunting dialogue if you noticed.

I think that the yellow filter present throughout the game (unlike Vice City's initial overcast aesthetic) adds a very nice touch and gives you a sense of nostalgia.

Pedestrian dialogue and talk radio were among the funniest I've heard in any GTA game, with San Andreas and GTA IV coming close in terms of humor.

With the introduction of a lot of new side missions and the ability to swim VCS was very much a step up from its predecessor to be honest.

Yes its VCS, it has best story of all 3D era games.Well written characters, you can feel into Victor character.Soundtrack is imo better than Vice city.Everything in city is improved(Those neons, thats damn good), you can feel speed of cars. You can built empire, this is absent in every other gta games..

Its sad that doesnt get much love as other installments in series.

I disagree ... yes it's in the list of one of the underrated one's , but it's not "The Most underrated GTA" i'd have to say Advance is the most underrated

Yeah this game is very underrated and not well known even amongst hardcore gta fans.

I myself never heard about this game until few years ago.

When i watched the walkthrough on youtube i was simply amazed by the game. It felt like San Andreas set in Vice City.

There is so many interesting sidemissions, great characters and awesome music.

I was so excited about finally playing this game on phone but :r*: never bothered to release it. :(

Atleast they could have made pc version of this and LCS.

Now after 11 years it is unlikely we will ever get pc or mobile version. Such a shame.
