Can't reinstall

Recently I got a virus and had to rollback my computer, everything is working now besides gta. When I pop the disk in, it gives me two options Play or Uninstall, play doesn't work, infact it doesn't do anything, and uninstalling, says setup has encountered a problem.

So I went and manually deleted all the files I could find for gta (user track data, and rockstar folders), and still the computer thinks gta is installed (only shows play but it Should show Install instead of play). So I went into the registry and deleted the files i could find for gta_sa aswell, yet it Still thinks gta is installed.

By now I have pretty much given up hope and figure I am S.O.L, but hopefully someone will have an answer.

formatting computer isn't an option as im not sure I could get it back.

You are still allowed to reinstall the game by using the SA DVD disc. Double-click on [setup.exe]

Worked great! Thank you so much, for some reason that didn't cross my mind.
