Pat Posted November 27, 2007 Share Posted November 27, 2007 I'm currently debating with myself over I want to do Murder in Manhattan (it's going to most likely only be two chapters, to be honest), or if I want to do a project I've been thinking about for a while now, which will be fairly long. Oh, and I can't decide how to end The Book Of Souls. I originally said there would be six victims, but if I have each of their deaths, they're going to be exactly the same as John's, and therefore would most likely bore the reader. However, if I do something like, "six people died lol, moving on", it'll feel like I'm just putting a giant middle finger right infront of the reader. Thoughts? I'm not sure what to suggest about TBoS - the supernatural stuff is a lot harder to plan an ending for than the reality-based stories. But I'm looking forward to MIM though! A small band, just about four guys. And you're living in a small mountain town in North Carolina. What would you name it? And I've decided to go for writing Pseudo - my anti-writersblock experiment - and to prove it here's a small extract: Liberating a black folder labeled SONY from his silver briefcase, Agent Ryder slid it across the polished surface of the chrome table at which the man in question sat. They were alone in the headquarters' conference room, where operatives were briefed on their assignments. This was no different. Sony opened the file without instruction and immediately was intrigued by the photo clipped to the top of the document: it was of a young and dark-suited man whose records stated was British. Sony looked up from the folder and back at Agent Ryder, who was now stood by his seated side. "What's this?" "Your intended target." Ryder informed canonically, staring Sony through the crystal-clear lenses of his black-rimmed glasses. "This man's a panelist at the UN summit who's taken it upon himself to expose the agency." Pseudo is becoming more military-themed than sci-fi - but I think it works just as well - I only hope this one short fic isn't more action-packed than SYN! But I'm gonna have to leave it aside for the time being - it's taking up way too much of my time when it was only ever supposed to be a way of erasing my writersblock. Pat Posted December 4, 2007 Share Posted December 4, 2007 I've decided to release more info about my "project". Hoorah? The basic story is, it starts out with two students in English. The girl asks the guy if he would attend her funeral if she died the next day. He says yes, of course, just like every friend would say. He doesn't keep his promise, however. After her death, the girl becomes a ghost, and slowly learns that her death was no accident. Not only does she learn that, she learns the only person that can see and hear her is her friend. The two friends will have to work together to avenge her death, before she is doomed to never be able to rest in peace, and be a ghost forever. One chapter will be her point of view, and the next will be his, then the next will be hers, etc. Thinking of calling it "Broken Promise". (he promised to attend her funeral, but didn't, and due to this was destined to help avenge her) Rest assured chapter one will be released before Christmas. And any deviants out there, you'll be glad to know that my snuff juices are well and truly pumping. Only I'm not sure if certain aspects of AOM will be a little, erm, "full on," especially in regards to Sadie's character. She really is a sexual predator and likes her 'men' young, if you catch my drift. Anyway, I'll start work on the first part sometime this week/end (the chapters are called AM and Static). I know I usually don't post my updates in here, but I finally began writing Viva Las Vegas. Chapter 1 is up now, as of a few days ago, so read and critique it if you can. Note that if you didn't like the prologue or chose not to read it, forget about it. I scrapped the prologue because it was written much differently than the rest of the story. Also chapter 2 will be up hopefully within the next few days or so. I got really into the story and got excited about my new ideas, so I'll probably be keeping up the writing tempo for awhile. What I mean is that this new re-imaging of Sadie is based on/inspired by Debra Lafave. Only to the extreme. Sadie is a very nasty piece of work and her select tastes know no bounds. I guess this is more of a warning than an update. I'm hoping to have the first part up by the 18th but - as always - no promises. Stay tuned...
