Rhoda 6,118 Posted July 11, 2018 I took some time out today to listen to Lego Feet, which was the techno-orientated alias adopted by Sean and Rob of Rochdale based electronic behemoth Autechre. Before they made music that sounded like a German robot masturbating in the back of a futuristic car, they made some pretty cutting edge techno that could fool both camps. This is part 1 of a re-issue that was released recently, and it's dynamite.
blaze 13,574 Posted July 11, 2018 classic North East UK Afterdark tune (despite being an italodance record). Those mid 90s tracks always have great synth leads.
Rhoda 6,118 Posted July 11, 2018 Whilst we're on the subject, I am partial to a bit of Tommy Pulse.
Plage 3,833 Posted July 27, 2018 (edited) Some oldskool Gabber. I suggest to play it @ 1.25 speed but it's not a necessity. You get the picture. Edited July 27, 2018 by Plage
Mister Pink 9,658 Posted July 29, 2018 (edited) Been a fan of these guys for a while now. They make amazing old-skool Electro with modern sound but keeping very true to the old electro-funk style like Cybotron or Afrika Bambaata that just were ripping Kraftwerk anyway. Good stuff. Nice to hear a modernized version of that music with today's production values. Edited July 29, 2018 by Mister Pink
Rhoda 6,118 Posted July 30, 2018 New Aphex Twin on its way? Aphex Twin sparks new album speculation with mysterious artwork found in Elephant & Castle underground in London. I am beyond ready.

Rhoda 6,118 Posted August 1, 2018 Somebody I went to school with is a DJ, and he's worked/toured with Hannah Wants. I'm quite surprised to be honest, because I didn't think she was such a big name. I must say I do like her remixes. EDIT: Just found him, he's called Jimmy Switch. Couldn't remember his DJ name, ha.

Mister Pink 9,658 Posted September 6, 2018 (edited) This would sound perfect in a Streets of Rage game. Edited September 29, 2018 by Mister Pink

The Odyssey 1,676 Posted March 23 Flume's new mixtape is incredible. I was afraid after Skin he'd lead into a radio-friendly musical direction, luckily this album has an array of fresh experimental sounds. Check it out if you're into artists such as Aphex Twin, Flying Lotus or Iglooghost.

Mister Pink 9,658 Posted May 6 @The Odyssey Great choice! Love me some Boards...' ^ This is about a pop as a I go.. It's pretty solid though. Royksopp are great and they teamed up with Robyn here. She has a great voice. Love the concept of the track and the raw modern disco sound.
Mister Pink 9,658 Posted July 10 Sorry for the double post. Hoping to keep this topic alive. Really digging Bonobo's "Fabric Presents.." It's on Spotify too
DEALUX 2,400 Posted July 22 I've become a huge fan of Grime as of late. It's the best thing to come out out of hip-hop and electronic music this century at least. My recommended artists are Flowdan, Wiley, Dizzee, Kano, D Double E, Stormzy, etc. This is a pretty decent doc on the subject:

Would love to hear some more songs like that. Anyway, this is one of my new favorite songs to test headphones with. Great for vocals, depth perception, and ambient sounds\reverb. Mister Pink 9,658 Posted August 6 @DEALUX I can see why you may use that track to test headphones. They made some great use of ambient sounds. The video that was missing in the quote above is this.. (I think) You might like it, it's got that old-skool electro/ghetto-tech sound. Here's a decent mix of all that style. Video/audio quality aint great but if you find some decent tracks in there you might be on your way.
