lothronik
"We requested it [the trailer]. We sent an e-mail out to every publisher and said send us your videos that you want put in the press conference, and they never sent it." Karraker told 1UP last week. lastmanonearth
Maybe all this newfound Microsoft-exclusiveness and that generous donation are telling something about this inhospitable attitude by Take Two towards Sony?
Rain Ocampo
This could be related to bitterness over Manhunt 2. Edited July 18, 2007 by Rain Ocampo
tminus
Perhaps more interesting is the fact that Tretton mentions GTA IV in relation to working with Rockstar on episodic content, where as Phil Harrison only said "...we're actually working closely with them [Rockstar] on a number of initiatives," and didn't specifically mention GTA IV. Magic_Al
Well I think anyone looking at the console sales picture would have to say being cosy with Microsoft makes sense for Take Two. Not only is the 360 in a stronger market position, and not only has Microsoft shoveled money into exclusive content, but GTA4 having as much development time as it (since 2004) depended on Microsoft providing hardware prototypes and support at the earliest stages. I doubt Take Two is anti-Sony since there is a simultaneous PS3 release (it would be easier to outsource a port later) but Sony is in a subordinate position. Sony will surely get more attention closer to the release date, Take Two does want the PS3 version to sell after all.
OysterBarron
It really makes sense for take two to release the episodic content onto the 360 only there going to make more money xbox 360 has sold over 11,503,535 consoles to date compare that to the ps3 3,778,433 over a million of witch are probably still sitting on shops shelves. the thing im trying to say is in a world run by profit then i know exactly what console i would jump into bed with to make the most profit for my company. bear in mind that there are over 8 million xboxlive users at the current date thats roughly about 3/4 of the total xbox360 users now going by that figure with the ps3 and there figure is probable about 1.300.000 that have there ps3 hoked up to the PSN.so to every one user on the psn there is 8 using xboxlive. hence xboxlive wins hands down when it comes to actually making it worth while making the episodic content and making a profit with it

Azil2fu
Exactly the same at the MS conference. GTA IV wasn't mentioned at all. And so what ? GTA is canceled on xbox cause the demo was crap? NO, don't worry about insignifiant things. I don't see the point making topic for that.

Snake Without a Tongue
Azil2fu? What the hell, man? My brain is sweating trying to make sense of that. Anyway, I hope this is more evidence that future GTAs will come to the 360 since that's the console I've decided to side with. MysteryGamer
I really hope not but I have had a few small doubts on whether the Playstation 3 version could be pushed back if only a month or something mainly because Rockstar have said they were further ahead with development on the XBOX 360 version. If this is the case then I will wait very patiently until the Playstation 3 is released because although the XBOX 360 version has bonus content the XBOX 360 console itself seems to have a lot of failures this is undeniable, it is pretty much a fact. I will gladly purchase one when Microsoft really sort the problem out until then though I will not be getting one ever I do not fancy changing my console for another one too often and possibly having to pay for it just to be fix over and over again. The Playstation 3 is not perfect either mainly due to the fact is lacks must own games (at present) and the price is high (over here in the UK especially, Europes price is only a bit lower) but it does not have a lot failure rates like the XBOX 360 seems to. On the other hand the XBOX 360 is a lot cheaper than the Playstation 3. If I am wrong then sorry but judging from the many many people on forums and product review sites the situation on the XBOX 360 is true.

Knight_Yellow
I think people are reading to far into this... If a movie trailer doesnt show up in a movie critique show does that mean that automaticaly the movie's creators are trying to stick it to the show? Of course not. Brish
The trailer was made entirely on the Xbox 360(?). Plus, Sony snubbed Rockstar with their AO policies. Strauss Zelnick(?), has been saying that Manhunt 2 is a work of art. He's obviously passionate about Rockstar's creative freedom.
Rick88
They've already shown their demo previews and trailers throughout the web. Maybe they thought it wasn't necessary to show much on the E3. On a side note, I don't think manhunt 2 and sony's AO policy had anything to do with this. Microsoft had also said that they won't allow AO games on their consoles. dertyjerzian
It wasnt there because it was running on the 360, the stuff we saw. Note the frame rates, there's proof. Don't expect any problems that noticable on release. Sony would insult themselves to play something announced and bragged about as "entirely done on 360!!111one!" at an announcement event, especially at E3 (arguably the biggest one for fans and fan journalists). They'll show the trailer in montages and booths but they're not going to include something in the conference presentation that is, prior to them going to stage, gloated about by MS. haha, MS pretty much shook Sony's whole set... Sony probably pulled the talk of IV. Otherwise, perhaps something larger... (and no, not at all do I mean like PS3 would not have IV.) OPINION follows this quote, no offense to anyone else's speculation, and mine is open to discussions as well: I really hope not but I have had a few small doubts on whether the Playstation 3 version could be pushed back if only a month or something mainly because Rockstar have said they were further ahead with development on the XBOX 360 version. If that was to be the case... Then would it be wrong for me to speculate that just as xbox had the superior, later released, system/console, then can the same be true for sony this time around? Perhaps a sony gameplan? Hell, when xbox xame out, though it was apparently easier to dev for than PS2 when it was released, companies weren't able to just jump on it. Many did, and there were some stinkers among them. WHen rockstar DID port the GTA series to Xbox, it had improvements. The same improvements as seen on PC (and I think xbox had more improvements than PC, unsure) That said, perhaps this time around sony will get the polishing... Certainly if rockstar had to push back GTA for anything, it would polish the work they've done further. If one team is putting it on the sony, why wouldn't the art teams and subsystems teams be refining sh*t? Ha, and on the other hand and entirely opposite, Rockstar (you've heard me say they are sony babies ) could be using 360 as a beta test bug test platform lolz. Doubt it tho Still yummy food for thought. Too good to be true tho, considering it is my fanboy opinion. UnitedDestruction
I dont really care if the PS3 gets any exclusives, as long as the 360 doesnt get any either since Im buying a PS3 before the 360. Yay for equality
Ugee
All I'm hoping for is the PS3 version to be equal or greater.. I don't care much about downloadable content later on. Oh and the same release date.. seems all that will happen though .
