Vinnie
Due to some of the newer hardware & of course the new Microsoft Operating System, Windows Vista. You may have some problems on getting GTA Vice City Running. You will find that you will need a slightly higher spec machine to run GTA Vice City properly on Windows Vista. Many problems are related to a low amount of RAM, or out of date drivers. My Recommended Specification For GTA Vice City On Windows Vista 1024Mb (1Gb) Memory [Has To Be A Large Amount Because Of Vista's Processes]. 2.0GHz Pentium 4 or AMD Equivalent. A Mid To High Range 256Mb Graphics Card With Up To Date Drivers (If You are using Aero). A Mid To High Range 128Mb Graphics Card With Up To Date Drivers (If You are running Basic, or have disabled Aero). Make Sure That Your Drivers Are Up To Date, And This Goes For Any Gaming In Vista. The above specification may seem high for an old game, but because of Vista's processes, you'll find that you will need around the specification listed above. Remember Never Download The Patch As It Is Obsolete. It will no longer help, especially as you should have the up to date graphics drivers. There have been numerous users saying that GTA Vice City will not run on Vista out of the box. This is because you'll need to put the game into Windows XP or Windows 98 Compatibility mode for it to run properly. To do this: Right Click The GTA Vice City Shortcut > Properties > Compatibility > Check Run This In Compatibility Mode For: > Windows XP Or Windows 98 (Whatever Works Best). Remember, Because Vista drivers are being developed all the time it's important that you Keep Your Drivers & Software Up To Date At All Times. Dual/Multi-Core Systems Vice City may not work on these CPUs. Remember before you run Vice City to allow it use only one core. volsun
Excuse me. Is there really any point in this? This is a clear dig at Microsoft's latest OS, and is barely disguised as a "tutorial". I suggest the webmaster sends "Vinnie" the bill for the consumed disk space and bandwidth, and I suggest Vinnie joins the "community" at http://badvista.fsf.org/. User was warned for this post. Vinnie
Excuse me. Is there really any point in this? Yes it's a troubleshooting guide for those who have trouble playing GTA Vice City on Vista. This is a clear dig at Microsoft's latest OS, and is barely disguised as a "tutorial". I don't run Vista, I run Windows XP & Ubuntu Linux. Linking is now allowed either. Suction Testicle Man
Good work Vinnie, very useful. Pinned. If at first you don't succeed, you fail, and the test will be terminated.

Anything explaining something is a tutorial, and this is, so back off the guy.
