I've been excited for this game before the PS3 was released back in November (American release.) It will be avaliable on August 14. So I decided to write a small preveiw of the game do people that don't know what it is.

To me the PlayStation 3 needs an excellent exclusive game. Something that just sells the system. Like how Halo did for Xbox. It seems that the only games that had generated that much buzz for the PS3 is Resistance Fall of Man and MotorStorm. Well LAIR looks like it could be that type of game.

I don't give in easily to hype. Take Killzone 2 for example. Looks like a great game but I'm not making any assumptions till I have it. For me though LAIR is a differnt story.

The game is split between the two opposing forces the Asylians and Mokai. You are an elite dragon rider knight for the Asylians. I watched the teaser trailer for it and the graphics just took my breath away. The way the sunlight reflected off the water and off the dragon riders armor. When it did an aereal veiw of the land all the men fighting on the ground were very visible. Every scale on the dragon can be seen. The fire is the most realistic I've seen in a game. The has been rumors that damage will show up on your dragon as you fight the battle. To really appreciat the graphics you have to watch the trailer.

We all know that visuals aren't everything. This game will take full advantage of of the PS3's SIXASSIS controller. You will tilt the controller left, right, up, and down. to make it lunge forward you jab the controller forward. When facing another dragon in aerial combat. Think of God of Wars on screen button pressing moments. In the trailer it showed this type of fight. The final blow was landed when your dragon rider used his grappling hook chain to grab onto the other dragons thigh, pull himself onto it and stab the heart of the other rider. Finaly sending the dragon and his rider plumiting to the ground. You will be able to swoop down and devour the opposing soilders to replenish health. Fans of the Dynesty Warriors games will be pleased with this one for you have to controll the moral of your soilders.

All fights will not be done by using the dragon. When you are firmly on the ground you can dismount and fight with the rider. His weapon is a mace with the grappling hook on the end. Not much else known about the ground combat.(Not sure if this is true or not yet. Some sites say you can do this and others say you can't.)

With the many flyers out there with the don't touch anything rule. LAIR says f*ck that with the destroy everthing rule. Think of destroying a building, grabbing a huge peice and dropping it onto a large group of enemies. Soilders and opposing dragons will not be the only enemies to fight. Bone cracking beasts will aslo be thrown into the game.

So if you want a game that will make you proud that you spent every cent on your PS3. I recommend that you give this game a try.
