When I try to launch GTA3, the 2 logo videos play properly, but after last of them GTA3 shows nothing but a black screen. I hear the WinXP error sound (probably some error is displayed but it can't be seen). I made a screenshot of the black screen (with PrtScr key) and pasted it into irfanview. What is seen is a "GTA3: gta3.exe - Application Error". Here it is (click to enlarge): I tried reinstalling GTA3 and it didn't help. I tried deleting the SET file No result. What kind of problem I have? My system specs: Athlon XP 1700+ 512 MB RAM GeForce 3 Ti200 64MB Please, help. Cheers! Edit: Although, seeing you're a mission coder I'd gather (hope!) you actually bought it... Try reinstalling it in a different area. Two logo videos - Rockstar Games logo and GTA3 credits logo (they are played from Movies folder). @Vinnie: No, it's a clean version (tried reinstalling). Edit: I tried installing it into different place. Weird, shows up this error: I'm so angry. I must code Mission Pack 2....... What helped is the Windows 98 compatibility option on GTA3.EXE. Consider adding this information to the pinned topic. I think this topic can be closed.
