rubregg
Right, so all this time I've played SA I used to think that once a side-mission is passed, redoing it will not increase the 'mission attempts' counter in the stats anymore. I've checked this on lots of occasions, and I'm pretty sure for the NRG Challenge as well. Yesterday I witnessed this: in a new and unmodded game (v1 w. v2 scripts) I did the NRG challenge very early, only Burglary, Paramedic, Firefighter and Vigilante done before. Passing NRG did *not* make the 'mission attempts' counter stop increasing upon retry though. Confused I tried with a brandnew game. Flew to SF and did NRG as the very first mission. Same thing about the 'mission attempts'. I tried this with v1/v2 scripts and v1/v1 scripts. Does anyone know what's going on here?
Demarest
Does anyone know what's going on here? Yes. Coding oversight by R*. Once you pass the mission BMX, doing BMX and/or NRG-500 will not increase your mission attempts. R* set a flag once you passed NRG-500, but unlike most missions, they don't check that flag before increasing mission attempts. They check the BMX flag instead (BMX and NRG-500 are run by the same mission).
rubregg
Aah, so that's where this comes from. Thanks for the explanation, Demarest.
