The start of GTA: One and a half.

At the first time this project was started "GTA San Andreas" modding wasn't that big.

With the team JernejL had at that time he and his team only converted all the classic gta games to 3D Studio Max.

For some reason they never placed it in-game, nobody worked on it anymore and the mod died.

 

 

The name change.

------------------------------------------------

Somewhere in 2007 the mod was restarted by Gybrus.

The original name "3D One" didn't fit anymore with the project ideas, Gta: one wasn't the only classic Gta that would be placed in-game.

After considering some names like: "Gta:San classic" and "Classic Andreas", Gybrus decided to use Gta:One and a half.

The oh so good explanation for this name..: 1+2= 3 and 3:2= 1,5 or 1.5 in either way it's one and a half..

 

 

Future plans

------------------------------------------------

The most ideas are the same like placing all the classic gta's in a 3D gta engine.

Here is a list of things left to do:

 

- Place all the city’s in the gta:sa engine.

- creating cols

- Repairing textures...

- repair what has to be fixed - like missing roof textures in tunnels

- recreating fences and signs using 3d objects instead flat textures

- delete existing water textures and use proper gta-engine water

- scale the world, so it fits more to the vehicle scale

- create car and ped, boat paths

- Other stuff that needs to be done.

yeah you huys are right the streets are a bit small but the doors are already a bit to big....

hmm strange I believe that the buildings are scaled higher than they must be...

I finished some coll's for the first part of yhe island.

whitout any bugs =D

But making new colls is stupid so I'm going to put some building in-game first notify.gif

Looks interesting. I think you should have to replace CJ' clothes with ones like in the original games, and what are you going to do with the car? you will convert the storyline too?

And those hospital texture did already exist in GTA1? I'm impressed...

 

(But I'd like a remake of Anywhere City even more, GTA:Classic would even provide a scripting base for it)

 

And scripting-wise it shouldn't be a problem to convert the missions, there isn't much that can't already be imitated with SA's opcodes. A proper implementation of car crushers might be difficult.

nice one there gybrus. just a sugestion, but why not make the buildings different hights cos otherwise it looks a bit flat, but good work anyway. are you gonna do vice city and san andreas too?

 

i never really noticed this before but the original liberty city is pretty big. bigger than the gta 3 liberty city

Grand Theft Auto 1 = Liberty City, Vice City and San Andreas (as a city, not as a state, so no Los Santos etc)

I don't know..

I think this one is only 1.5 Km² thats the same as 1500 M x 1500 M

 

Now about the cars...

I could convert them but they are only flat images.. =D

so the isn't really much to see drive what ever..

 

I think I'll leave the textures as they are..

I could make an mod update that changes the textures.. but that's for later.

 

I also need to make some alfa's but I'll start that on the end of the project..

(or when I'm bored making moddels =D)

 

 

Another great thing is all those comments I get =D
