You said “you always hear people claim GTA 3 is a small game” in terms of map size, and that you felt VC was just as small. I was merely saying that Vice City is infact bigger than Liberty. Spuds725 Posted July 12, 2007 Share Posted July 12, 2007 VC's land masses are bigger, just alot of space is wasted-- beaches and golf course take up quite a bit of space and while contribute to the atmosphere, don't really contribute to the "feel" of the city... LC is smaller, but IMO it does feel bigger then VC-- just tells you how good a job they did on LC for III--- I did see a map comparison of LC, VC, and SA-- it had each maps outlined and overlapped to see their relative sizes-- can't recall where I saw it... sorry... Demarest Posted July 13, 2007 Share Posted July 13, 2007 Long time ago, I had made an image that was GTAIII's radar superimposed over VC's. VC's is physically larger (though nowhere near double). As Spuds pointed out, a lot of it's wasted. What was NOT mentioned was that people and cars move farther in VC. So really, it's about the same size. Grove4Lyfe Posted July 15, 2007 Share Posted July 15, 2007 Vice City looks small if you compare it to LIberty City, but if you take the time to drive around the areas and observe these maps carefully Vice City is equal or slightly a bit larger. If you took out Downtown, the remaining area of the main land would be about the size of Portland. The East Island, excluding Leaf Links Islands, would be Staunton Island's Size. The remaining parts, Prawn Island, Starfish Island, the 2 Leaf Links Islands and Downtown would probably make up for Shoreside Vale. Stefan Posted July 20, 2007 Share Posted July 20, 2007 If you take Portland and divide half of it to Staunton and half of it to Shoreside, you get somewhat the size of the two Vice islands only. There is useless beach and promenade in VC, there is a huge sea and aiport area which are not used, there is that lagoon between army and stadium. VC has less detalisation and less land.
