Ben Fleming
Holy hell. Excuse me, I think I just sh*t myself. It'll be very interesting to see how the WWW (.gta?) will work in-game, but I'm sure it will be amazing indeed. This article just gave me even more reasons to buy a 360 solely for IV. K4miL
"With regard to Grand Theft Auto IV, first of all it is too early for any submissions [to the ratings boards]. Secondly, we believe that the game fits squarely within the M [for Mature, 17+] category [in the USA]." You can find it, in the Article ^^ btw. Mike0
Lets hear those crazy folks that say that Saints Row is better than GTA IV now:) They dont know what they're talking about. We are talking about GTA and Rockstar. Saints Row is just a Havok physics engine in a ponyfarm enviroment. Its a good clone, but thats all it is. AFS
am i the only one here who thinks the internet being on GTA is a bit much and not very exciting. to be honest I hope its just very realistic and in cutscenes. example: Niko looks up russian mail order bride, you watch cutscene of him dropping his jaw in awe as he see's his sister on the site. then doing an IP check on the owner and going to kill him. something along those lines. i really hope you dont actually have to go "surfing" im serious, thats too much imo. Jonathan2k6
After reading it again and again im coming to a conclusion that GTA IV is OVERREALISTIC nd that it might lose its original feel and the reason why many of us are here today and posting.I just dont like the new Internet feature and the Cv thingy and stuff related to that.I just plain dont Hmm...didn't people say the same thing about San Andreas? haha Dude the GTA "feel" is in there. I mean come on. Tw@ Cafe = tw*t Cafe...classic GTA humor. Bohan = skin that connects the scrotom to the body. The "feel" will be there dude, trust in that. R* knows better than to leave what made them what they are today. All they're doing is taking that "feel" we all know and love and are making the feeling REAL. It's next-generation man. It's the next level...
Jonathan2k6
And damn it seems to me like Niko has cash at the beginning of the game. I mean 2 stacks on an outfit that early in the game. In the words of Harlem's own Jim Jones Niko is BALLIN lol. I can't believe you doubted the game either. Hell, I can't believe how ANYONE (of us hardcore GTA fans anyway) could ever doubt Rockstar. I mean honestly, have they EVER failed to deliver? And as far as having too much money, maybe they used the money cheat. haha
GTAFTERMATH
Just like the others have said "what if you choose not to go through with the murder"? Maybe you sit through the interview and then get otld, sorry mr. bellick i do not think you are right for this job, (i mena its not like niko is a trained lawyer is it ) Then after the interview he walks you to the door and you grab him put your hand over his mouth, and slit his throat. Then the secretary never sounds the alarm because she didn't hear gunshots or any struggle which means you don't have to shot the tubby security guards or meet the cops at the front door. You simply just walk out of the office wave to the secretary and walk out of the building free and clear.
hg199
I am just impressed with the new wanted star system. How clever is that? I am so glad they realised that the cops in the last games were just mad.. even more criminal than the things you did! No more standing in front of a cop car with a bazooka and them just driving off! Can't wait...

The mission they previewed is probably from later on in the game, especially if it takes place in Algonquin (since Algonquin isn't likely to be accessible from the beginning.) IIRC, one of the missions they previewed prior to San Andreas' release was "Reuniting the Families," which is one of the finale missions in Los Santos... Blind Joe Death
Has anyone edited the preview and cut out the images from the magazine too make them look official new screen shots? I remember it was done with the Game Informer Magazine when it first came out so I was just wondering. Who ever points me in the direction or does it themselves, I will be highly thankful. For the underground gundealer they mentioned, they were just telling you the other ways you had to get guns, as for the pay n spray, they were just sayin that in the previous gtas you relied so much on the pay n spray, but now its possible to evade cops with out there being one in sight. Rick88
QUOTE (Snake Without a Tongue @ Jul 9 2007, 21:23)Just so this post isn't wasted, does anybody think the shooting around a corner thing will be in game or just a cut scene? I'd love to be able to have real shoot outs and that's what it sounds like the article implies. It said in the article that Niko was shooting around the corner while he was hiding to get the security guard in the position he wanted, then he shot the security guard. So I'm sure you'll be able to do it.. You probably won't hit anybody blind firing though, because it said Niko was using it to "pin down his opponent" and he and the security guard were in very close quarters (small room). So, no aiming will be allowed when doing so it appears. I did think it was funny that Niko was hiding behind a wall. A wall will NOT stop a bullet (unless it's made of solid marble), because it offers virtually no protection. Just because the security guard can't see you, that doesn't mean you are protected. If he has half a brain, he will shoot through the wall. Car doors are the same way. That's why you crouch behind the tire (you'll notice this in movies if it's done right). Actually that depends on the weapon and the thickness of the wall. A handgun bullet is not strong enough to go through concrete wall. So hiding behind the wall is actually saving your life. As far as I know only rifle bullets can go clean through any wall. Back on topic: The preview sounds amazing and promising. I really liked the part about the new wanted level system. Its a very big step to take from the previous GTA games. However, I don't think they'll take out pay'n'sprays and ammunition stores. Even if they did I wouldn't mind. I also liked the other features such as internet use and the mobile uses.
nuclear_eclipse
My first thoughts when hearing about losing the cops by switching vehicles: commit a small crime with no officers around, hail a cab, duck down, and ride right past their cruisers as you head out of the search area... Given Niko's past, I'd say it's safe to say he's not in any hurry to undergo a background check. Wouldn't you think? Not to mention, it's impossible to obtain a handgun without enduring a nasty waiting period. Furthermore, you won't be buying automatic weapons at your local mall. The shady dealers make perfect sense to me. In fact, if Rockstar is indeed taking the serious route, I'd much rather go about buying my weapons from unsavory individuals. After all, what sense does it make to stroll in to a gun store, then purchase an R.P.G.? People should learn to relax. Rockstar has it under control. On the other hand, maybe you're right. Maybe legal gun dealers still exist in Liberty City. However, I don't see Niko obtaining his weapons that way. Well, not honestly. B & E anyone? Honestly, I hope the days of being chased by suicidal police officers are over. Can you honestly say you'd rather have police that drop out of the sky and ram your automobile continuously, even slamming in to you head-on, as opposed to ones that actually have a line of sight and realistically search for you? Sorry, I'll take the latter. Again, I'm not busting on you for your opinion. I just thought the recent changes were welcome changes. Super realism? I think not. Blow Me??
Hey guys first post, All these new features are sick, i love em, but one thing crossed my mind, safe houses. I think it would be cool if you can call up a moving truck company go to furniture stores/electronic stores then load it up and bring it to your apartment or condo. cause all safe houses are really only used for saving, they should make a safe house really feel like a safe house. Please don't flame im just curious of what you all think.

reptilexcq
Since the game is going realistic...i wonder what happen if the cop spot you hanging on the back of a truck? Would they stop u and question you?? Certainly, you're not committing any crime and no need to aggressively stop you but to make it realistic, cops still should stop you, question you and then let go after that. The same go with withdrawing guns in public or shooting in the air. If cops are around, i wonder what they're going to do. In previous GTAs, cops don't give a damm unless you killed someone. So to make it realistic....i don't think cops would just happy driving and seeing you hanging off a truck and do nothing about it.

Blind Joe Death
The bayimg.com isn't working anymore so I can't seem to view the separate cut out screen shots from the magazine. Has anybody saved the individual screen shots (not the actual magazine, but the cut out screen shots) from the magazine? If yes please host them on a place like photobucket and post them in here so I can save them to my computer, it's important. Oh and don't send me a link to try and download the images as I don't have an idea what program to open them with as they all don't work.
lastmanonearth
- Niko died in the demo that Rockstar gave the magazine. In their game he died once he emerged from the building whereas in other magazine's version they didn't manage to get out of the building. Also in this one he puts 3 bullets in the guy on the phone and in the same demo Playstation mag Aus played they put 2 bullets in him, so every magazine has complete interactivity until Nico gets killed. I hope another mag that gets this demo doesn't do exactly the same things these two did already.
