Lost-Fender
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium Processor: Intel Centrino Duo T7200 @ 2.00 GHz rated at 4.94 GHz RAM: 2046 MB Memory: 143GB HDD (Main), 149GB HD (Secondary), 5.74GB HD (Used for recovery data) Graphics: nVidia GeForce Go 7600 512 MB DirectX 10.0 Display: 17" Widescreen 1440x900 resolution Windows Experience Index: 4.6 Excellent computer, which I got around July last year. Most games run smoothly on it, although newer games (e.g. The Orange Box) tend to have a slower frame rate due to the graphics card. I have been looking at a few graphics card, like nVidia's GeForce 8xxx series, but I'm not sure at the moment. Overall, it was a huge improvement from my older computer. How the hell's that rated at 4.94Ghz? I ran a system requirement test for Half Life 2 a few days ago over here. The results returned this... CPU SpeedMinimum: 1.2 GHz You Have: 2.00 GHz Performance Rated at 4.94 GHz I just realized my mistake and corrected it, though. Yeah that comes from the system requirements scanner just doubling the speed because you've got a dual core processor. Its just the way it scans your system. kingvercetti
Got a new PC just after Chritsmas this year: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz - 5.9 in Vista 3GB DDR2 667MHz RAM - 5.4 nVIDIA 8800GT - 5.9 2x RAID0'ed 320GB HDDs - 5.9 £650 inc. shipping & VAT. Also has a fancy case with a completely useless 2.5 inch LCD for pictures and solitaire, no less, and a ton of media card inputs; most of which I've never seen or heard of before. And I really should fiddle around with a few things in Vista, as at any given time I have 80-100 processes, up from 50 or so on my old XP machine. But Crysis on Very High is playable to say the least, and runs pretty much perfectly smooth on High. Yays.
cold fusion 33
Damn. I want it. I want it bad. Mine: Packard Bell Pavillion. HDD: 10.2GB, soon to be upped to hopefully 250GB as my old drive failed. 512MB RAM, soon to be upped to 1.5GB. I believe that it has the Columbia motherboard, that's about as much as I know about that area of the PC. Video Card: Nvidia MX440, runs Crysis like a charm . Speakers: Labtec soundspin 80 . Want to swap?
kingvercetti
I certainly do. Right after hell freezes over. Oh, and to make this not spam, does Vista not recognize the fact that the processor is multi-core? Because maybe it's just me, but 5.9 seems a bit...low? Or am I looking too far into this and they really dont mean that much at all? And I'll probably end up SLI'ing another 8800GT or buying a 9800 once my wallet recovers. I'm probably getting a new PC soon. But. I am building it. It will probably go somewhere along the lines of what your PC is made up of but for a lower price tag . Ps, What is Sli'ing? kingvercetti
Wow, 5.9, what a weird number. Anyway I was quite disgruntled to find that this motherboard only had one PCI-E x16 slot. Goddamn you Dell, I was looking forward to having SLi in the future! Shoulda saved a little bit more and custom built really, although I'll be extremely happy if a standard mobo fits in here. Doubt it though. Still, it's a great PC, I love the performance, and if the Crysis sequels want to get cocky they can suck my left nut. And yay for the 3 way spec brother...ness. poopskin
Rating my physical PC Now Running XP Media center (and pretty much any other windows thanks to virtual PC) (currently) 177 GB HD HP Pavilion slimline s7600 8/10; Runs like a dream, hasn't BSODed on me in the whole year or so i've had it. Unfortunately won't run oblivion, so -2, bringing it from 10/10 to 8/10.

matthew1g
What's wrong with it? I don't have a clue, but my new, i may just have my Geforce 8500 GT, How about that with a Pentium 4? 8500GT performs roughly the same as a 6800GT/ultra or slightly better. so it may work. but for get gaming on that, regardless of what CPu you put with the 8500 or what GPU you put with the P4. they're old, and the 8500 is under powered. if you're low on budget, either get an ATI X1950 Pro which you can get for really cheap or an 8600GTS, as for CPU... there's Core duo and core 2 duo, which will give you some serious power. only choose core duos if you're tight on money, if you still can't afford at least an E6420, then go for an E4400
