lesfleanut
Alright, post specs here and we'll tell you the deal. This should stop the influx of PC rating topics. Perhaps a nice mod could merge the others into this and pin it? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/285847-official-rate-your-pc-topic/ Share on other sites

stretch.
@Steak: To be honest, there isn't anything I do that challenges my pc, the most intensive thing I throw at it is the virus scan. Well, theres games and stuff, but ever tried even opening notepad when norton's out hunting? And besides, the tech gap between my pc and now isn't that much, and for price? unbeatable in my opinion. @James: I'd rate it relatively low too, you're running a P4, and to be honest I'm surprised it hasn't set on fire, you might want to sell it and search out some previous gen stuff, for what it's worth, it'd be quicker. matthew1g
it's more or less the same as s-pacos setup. You have better graphics then hin, but he has a better CPU than you. So I guess I give it about 2.5. How come you can run TDU???!?!?!?? that needs a 2.4 P4 AFAIK as minimum. @ stretch don't use norton that takes more than 90MB alone from the ram. I use bitdefender on both my PCs. The C2D barely goes over 1-2% when scanning and barely over 15% on my P4 now how about rating my pc? pretty please ? stretch.
@ Matthew: Well, I have to say that your gaming pc is pretty damn fly, how much that rig set you back? And I keep norton pretty much under control, found some performance options that let me tweak it to stop it from strangling my usability so now it hovers at around 5-10% usage with passive scanning. I'm giving it a 2. every year i upgrade my pc but it only manages to run the games at graphics setting medium for a year, then i need another upgrade i know $200 is less but i can save maximum $300 my target for this year is to add 512 ram it costs around 50 $ and with the 150 $ left i'm planning to get a 3.0 p4. dual core next year i guess it's damn expensive Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/285847-official-rate-your-pc-topic/?do=findComment&comment=4364951 Share on other sites
matthew1g
@ Matthew:Well, I have to say that your gaming pc is pretty damn fly, I got it for $1208 with Case and 2x dvd RW included then an extra $72 for this. I figured I'd get a 320mb version as I won't be getting a new monitor for at least another 4-5 years. What I have now is a 17" true flat CRT. It's been running for at least 6 years now, but the colour is still crispier than the normal TFTs. So I guess 320MB was more suited Edited July 9, 2007 by matthew1g Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/285847-official-rate-your-pc-topic/?do=findComment&comment=4364959 Share on other sites
Fozzy Fozborne
Mine is still good for what I do with it (runs Tiberium wars at 1600x1200 with all options on ultra, and is willing to play company of heroes at the same settings as long as I don't change camera angles.) I'm thinking about upgrading to a dual-core K8L/K10 when they are released if they're not too expensive. Skyline_Mad
Motherboard: Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe nForce4 Socket 939 Case: Ebuyer Achilles Case PSU: 500W ATX12v Processor: AMD Athlon 64 4000+ @2.4GHz CPU Cooler: Zalman CNPS7000B-CU Super Flower Graphics Card: XFX GeForce 7600GT Fatal1ty 256mb PCI (Ultra Silent, no Fan) Monitor: AG NEOVO F-417 17" TFT Memory: 4x Crucial 512MB DDR400 (2GB) (Dual Channel) HDD: 160GB Maxtor, 200GB Maxtor, 250GB Seagate (All ATAs) DVD: Sony DVD R/RW, Pioneer DVD R/RW Soundcard: Soundblaster Live 24bit External Speakers: Creative Inspire P5800 5.1 Surround Sound iPod + iTunes (20GB 4th Gen) Mouse: Razer DeathAdder Keyboard: Saitek Eclipse II GamePad: Logitech Rumblepad 2 2GB Broadband (through my dads PC to mine by Ethernet Cable) 4GB Kingston DataTraveler USB Flash Drive I Think Thats Everything lol. When i get a job i'll buy a new Case, Monitor, Soundcard and speaker system, Looking at getting the Sound Blaster X-Fi Platinum Fatal1ty with Logitech's Z-5500 5.1 System, Will probably cost between £300-£350, could also do with another iPod as the one i got is full and has been for quite some time now. Will possibly get a 22" Widescreen Monitor, and an expensive Gaming Case. Maybe i could upgrade everything to the highest it can go without needing a new motheroard e.g. CPU: 4000+ - 5000+ Ram: 2GB DDR400 - 4GB DDR2 PC2 Graphics: 1x 7600GT Fatal1ty - 2x 7600GT Fatal1ty SLI Add a SATA HDD lol i've only just upgraded (2 days ago) and i'm already thinking about what to get next. If i were to get those Logitech speakers, i may need to re-arrange my room, as the Sub needs to be at least 60cm away from anything electrical (has no magnetic sheilding), and at the moment theres nowhere for it to go without messing something up.
