Comfortable UD as predicted, Shane outclassed. I was an exteremely worried man in the 2nd though!! haha

And forget The Marquez bros, or Angulo AG, all the mexicans i was with tonight went f*ckin crazy for Canelo Alvarez. He is a cult hero down here.

First time i had seen him live, and I enjoyed it a lot. Got rocked hard in the first, but came back so strong and dominated. And I don;t care who the guy is fighting, if you have won 33 fights and are undefeated when you are 19 f*ckin years old!! you have to have something.

Overall really enjoyed tonight, main even was as expected apart from the wobble, and we got a decent undercard for once!

That's what I'm hearing. Apparently he's the talk of the town now. Plus he'll get bonus points down there for KOing a puerto rican, right? lol.gif But yeah, a friend of mine told me about him a few weeks back and told me to keep an eye out for him. I haven't had a chance to run the DVR back yet, but I heard he gutted it out after a rough start.

As for Money, the guy's is untouchable. Tremendous win, and an all time great performance. It's almost like when he got rocked in the 2nd, he took it personally for the first time in his career and made it a point to pick it up and win every single round convincingly from then on. He'll have his way with Pacman too if they can make that fight happen.

I wonder how he would've done against the HOF welterweights in the 80's like Leonard, Hearns, Duran, Benitez and Pryor. Though I think it's pretty clear that he'd be able to hold his own in just about any era.

Hahaha Haye - Harrison?? Are you guys for real? That is not a fight that would ever happen, they are in different leagues, Haye by murder in the 1st if it happened.

And AG, we got what we wanted man, surely this is the end of the quiet man in any meaningful way.

Well looks like its going to happen after all. Haye to win then?

I think Haye will win quite comfortably.

The few times i've seen them together doing the interviews on the telly has been funny.

Cringe-worthy you mean? Yes I agree.

I dont know about the result, the hype surrounding the fight should make Harrison train like he never has before, you never know, he has a punch on him, only takes a single mistake from Haye and hes a cocky sh*t. I do think Haye will win but you just never know.

The worst thing about the Haye vs Harrison fight is the fact that the British public will turn up/turn on in droves to watch it and no doubt prompt a rematch. And this is the reason boxing is dying, especially British boxing, the fact that there is no competition in the sport anymore. People don't want to see a one-sided 7th round TKO/KO, they want to see a 12-round exciting boxing masterclass from both sides.

While I'll disagree with the notion that boxing dying, I do agree that the competition level has declined over the last 5 years, give or take.

Truthfully, I've had a tough time getting amped up for any fights since Mayweather handled Mosley a few months back. Seems like all any promoter does lately is headline a pay per view with some mediocre fighter/up and coming prospect against some punch drunk has been, then throw 2 or 3 piss poor undercards on it...and try to charge me 50 bones in the process to watch it!?!

Well f*ck that.

I get it, HBO and Showtime are in no hurry to buy the rights to these mediocre fights, and as such, the promoters have to get their fighters on TV one way or another...so they opt to put it on PPV. Just count me out.

There are, however, some pretty intriguing fights coming up like Rafael Marquez-Juan Manuel Lopez, Pacman-Margarito, Sergio Martinez- Paul Williams 2 and Amir Kahn-Marcos Maidana.

Realistically, any one of these fights has potential to be a fight of the year candidate...so hopefully the sport can finish 2010 off on a high note after what has to be one of the most disappointing years I've seen since I started following boxing.

I think its just the heavy weights that are suffering.

I mean in the UK we see no Heavy Weight fights unless its a huge ass hype like Harrison and Haye is going to be. We dont see any of the guys in the states who are fighting their way through the heavy weight ranks, we never see the Russians either. So in the UK I just feel its a lack of boxing all together that gives the impression that its dying.

I would love to see a World Boxing Show on the TV so we could just keep up with whats going on. There are probably a few decent heavy weights coming up that we just never get a chance to see. Then when they get to the top we have to pay £15 to watch them and theres no hype because they aint British.

Just wish we had a bit more boxing here.

You're not missing any good young prospects stateside. All our would-be great US heavies are either playing middle linebacker in the NFL or power forward in the NBA. Arreola was the best we had...and that speaks volumes to the shamefully low quality of our heavyweights.

I'm pretty surprised you guys don't get to see the Klitchko's at least. Figured they'd be a huge draw out there even though they're not too popular with mainstream fans over here.

As far as having to pay to see anything worthwhile, we get shafted over here too. You can catch fights on regular TV a day or two a week, just nothing worth your time.

Showtime has been the best bang for your buck lately with the Super 6 tournament. ESPN Classic is great too, I think it costs like 5 bucks a month if you already get ESPN. Well worth it if they offer it over in the UK.

November is going to be f*cking awesome.

Waddy: Sky Sports have brought back Ringside, a weekly show where they discuss boxing and preview up coming fights. They mostly focus on the British scene though, if you want to follow boxing internationally you'll have to check out websites. RingTV, ESPN, Maxboxing are good for well written articles, and BoxingScene is good for reading about the latest updates as they're quick to update their site.

In remember when Tyson was fighting and the country used to go into melt down with the hype! Same when he went and Holyfield came on the scene here and it was huge again, the whole Bruno thing was huge, then the Lewis era was also huge and everyone stayed up to whatever time to watch the fights it was incredible. Then we had the middleweights which were great too, Eubank, Benn, Colins, Watson...looking back I bet there was a well hyped fight every month, it was really good, and the fights were talked about for weeks after, all the way up to the next fight.

Now there is the odd Khan fight which nobody really watches unless its on at 8pm, I doubt many will pay to see him then stay up till 2am to watch. We get none of the other fights, maybe on ESPN but I dont have that.

It's just changed a great deal from what Boxing used to be in the UK. Like Platty says to be a boxing fan you have to be an Internet boxing fan. I mean I was never an avid fan but I always watched it when it was on because it was great! I am sure there are loads of fighters trying to make it through that I have no idea about and that are pretty good.

Now we have Haye and Harrison. Not even close to Lewis, or Bruno!

I boxed a few times. It was quite fun. My wind was pretty bad so I only normally lasted around 5 minutes (it was just for fun anyway), but I knocked them on their asses quite a few times. I always wanted to mesure how much force I had behind my punch, I know it's a lot, but I don't quite know how much. I think I'm going to look at joining our local boxing club, it's one of those things where your doing cardio without even noticing it! icon14.gif

I still remember that Tyson VS Holyfield fight as if it were yesterday, and I think it was about 12 years ago now. I don't know what Tyson was thinking, but it was a big turning point in his career.

They have it, and if you get the Sky Sports package, which is about £10 a month, then you get ESPN Classic for free. It's all of the other ESPN channels that you have to pay for. But even they don't come to too much price wise.

Yeah It was sh*t fight. Harrison looked a beaten man at the end he had tears in his eyes.

Always the case, when in eight/nine minutes of boxing one of the fighters is only able to land ONE (yes, just one) punch. To put this in perspective, in the brilliant display by Manny 'Pac-Man' Pacquaio against the Tijiuana Cheating Tornado, Pacquiao over the course of 36minutes landed over 450 punches, while Margarito managed to land just over 220.

A bit of a naff fight that but you just new it was going to happen. Harrison just turned up for the pay day really but even that could get tits up as the BBBC are thinking of pulling his £1 mil payout.

Gotta be Vitali or Wladimir up next for Haye.
