I was right. the reason the fight was stopped wasn't because the ref was worried about his job. the fight was stopped because Connor clearly ran out of gas, didn't have his legs under him, and had failed to keep his hands up to defend himself. Floyd won but Floyd didn't even knock the guy out. by not building up his stamina any better, McGregor knocked himself out. A TKO isn't a technicality it's one of the three non technicality ways to win. KO, TKO, decision. A technicality would be Floyd winning via disqualification because Connor threw a spinning heal kick and knocked him out. No offense but you seem to have a very limited understanding of combat sports. A big part of the reason Connor gassed was because of the accumulation of body shots Floyd landed. Body shots don't just hurt they destroy your cardio too so does getting rocked by punches. It was a massive circus, for massive amounts of money. It dominated the media and was ultimately a pointless fight as of course Mayweather was going to win; he's had 49 professional fights and had won all of them. McGregor doesn't know how to box. His skillset lies in UFC style combat. If they really wanted to see who was the "best fighter", or whatever this fight was supposed to have been, they would have had a boxing match, which Mayweather would (and did) inevitably win; and a UFC match, where McGregor would completely destroy Mayweather. Anyway, GGG vs Canelo does look like an awesome matchup! Not many saw that coming after their controversial first bout in which Rungvisai won by Majority decision. Well nothing controversial after this bout, glad I didn't miss it. Now it's on to GGG/Canelo, tough one to call. I feel Canelo might be the better boxer and most experts are picking him, but GGG has the power to end it on one punch so I'll take GGG by KO in round 8. I’ve been enjoying the hell outta this very good crop of current fighters lately. Lomachenko is an offensive genius and a joy to watch as he continues to perfect his craft. I’m hoping to see him fight Berchelt at 130 next since Mikey is trying his luck at welterweight. But García-Lomachenko needs to happen in 2019. Crawford is probably just as talented plus he has a killer instinct and a mean streak that I haven’t seen in years. Bob Arum and Al Haymon need to start doing business together or else we’re not gonna get to see Bud in w anyone of note at 147. Road warrior Oleksandr Usyk’s unification at cruiserweight has been super impressive and did any of you catch him spark Bellew’s lights out a few weeks back?? God damn! I didn’t know he had it in him. Wonder if he’s really headed to heavyweight. How about Naoya Inoue? He’s in or near my top 5 p4p currently and I CAN’T WAIT to see him in there w Tete in his next fight. I think he KOs him but Tete’s a murderous puncher as well. So we’ll see. Crawford is the 2nd best, but age is getting there for him now since he's plus 30. I think Lomachenko-García is a far more interesting and competitive fight than Spence-García. And if Spence gives him a serious beating (which very well may happen) Garcia might not be the same fighter afterwards. That’d definitely take some of the shine off the eventual Loma fight. As for the other fight...Crawford seems to genuinely want Spence. Like you said...for Bud’s sake, it better get done soon because he’s in his prime right now. But I think Bud made a big mistake signing that deal w Arum and ESPN. All the top guys at 147 are in Al Haymon’s stable PBC. Shame cause Spence-Crawford has the potential to be a major chapter in the storied history of the WW division. It’s a 50/50 fight. I personally favor Crawford. Also, got my wires crossed...Tete is fighting Nonito Donaire in the quarterfinals of the WBSS. Should be a great fight.
