Mario
Here is a little something else I've noticed after looking over the video yet again. Thanks to jimmyjojo's comment mentioning the Blackhawk helicopter, I noted that he just may have been on to something. THE BLACKHAWK HELICOPTER (Note the similar thick yellow/blue design on the side of the chopper, and the apparently identical circular emblem between the design, and on the rear tail). So this game is post-911. no it doesnt it means before Actually, "post-" does mean after. The prefix which you are thinking of is "pre-". post- prefix Definition: 1. after, later postwar postdate 2. behind postorbital [< Latin post< Indo-European, "off, away"] Encarta® World English Dictionary [North American Edition] © & (P)2007 Microsoft Corporation. THE BLACKHAWK HELICOPTER (Note the similar thick yellow/blue design on the side of the chopper, and the apparently identical circular emblem between the design, and on the rear tail). LaMigra
Here is a pic of the DHS Customs and Border Protection Blackhawk. I'd say that it bears a striking resemblance...
nlitement
ROFL, looks like they're trying to smuggle in something! http://www.abload.de/img/homeland_security_vehicle_slrv.png But wouldn't Border Patrol have a green stripe instead of a blue one? The helicopter is a Border Patrol aircraft, but what about the cruisers? D:
LaMigra
Well, I guess we could get insanely technical. That picture is of an aircraft used in conjunction with Border Patrol activities, but it is part of the CBP Air and Marine Division, which is independent of Border Patrol. However, they all fall under the umbrella of Homeland Security. Also, I'm trying to find a decent pic of the CPB cruiser, but they all have pretty much the same striping nowadays. Border Patrol is the only one that is green, all of the others are blue with the DHS seal on the door.

Bren_34
It's been confirmed that the second picture is a Regular cop car that is having problems loading all the way, watch the trailer again slowly and see that it loads.
GTA4FANATIC
@manofpeace I agree with you, I believe that this new homeland security department is a replacement for the army. In this new realistic title of GTA it would be unrealistic to have the army coming after you with tanks driving through the streets blowing up civilian cars. That Black Hawk helicopter in the trailer has 5 Gatling guns mounted to it which is more then what the army's version of the helicopter is equipped with. Imagine that thing flying over your head and opening fire!
Koushiro "IZZY" Izumi
Forgive me if this has been pointed out, I've searched but found nothing about it. Do not flame me if otherwise, all that is needed is a simple link to the thread which already covers this subject, and I will notify the moderators myself for a thread closure. Flaming is idiotic, and unnecessary. Between 00:43 and 00:44 in trailer 2 "Looking For That Special Someone" you can clearly see the LCPD cruiser that had been in front of Nico has been replaced with another cruiser bearing a different design, and that design isn't too foreign to me. Take a look below... 00:43 STANDARD LCPD POLICE CAR (Obviously nearly identical to the standard NYPD cruiser design) 00:44 NEW CRUISER BEARING THICK YELLOW/BLUE DESIGN (Yellow/blue is the Department of Homeland Securities definitive colors). This particular design looks a hell of a lot like the DHS cruisers that drive around WPB Int'l Airport day and night, as well. Also, note the emblem on the side of the cruiser; though it is not crystal clear it looks similar to this: So yeah, I thought it an interesting find, figured I'd share. Good day, gents. God damn it. Somebody beat me to it. And I noticed the detail on that car since July 4th. If it wasn't for my dumbass friend who kept stalling me. Oh well. Congrats to you Mario for finding it out.... and beating me to it. >_<

No it hasn't.. and no it doesn't. Thank you for the compliments, I'd really like to see a bit more speculation however. The notion that they may replace the military is fantastic, and highly probable. I would hope they'd play a more permanent role rather than just being in a few select missions. NCIS-guy
my oppinion is that we got a new agency after us, Homeland Security, so your right. if you look close and sharpens the picture seen on the second page, then it could say: LC Department of Homeland Security

Rykane
Very nice find this could give us more questions about why homeland security is chasing him. Perhaps like somone said he was a terrorist? But thats probably not why hes there, concidering since R* won't want to be involved with terroists in anyway possible just like they avoided putting the two towers in liberty city. The Night Fox
good find, I guess we will have more than just cops to avoid in gameplay and maybe a couple of missions.

j0rkeh
I think they will probably replace the Army, FBI, or both. It adds realism, because anyone going around in the streets shooting people ( like some people will do) will be considered a terrorist regardless of their race or legal status, I don't think it was mainly added because Niko is an immigrant ( though I'm sure that will play a role in the story line) but mainly because it's realistic.
