It's likely I'll extend it into an 8-part mini-series somewhere down the line. But enough about that for now... Enjoy! ***** The trancey and anthemic euphony which pumped from the speakers could faintly be heard from out on the dancefloor. Accompanying the low-pitched sound was that of deep inhalation emanating from one of the cubicles. "That hit the spot." Remy used his thumb to dust off the white particles of cocaine from his left nostril, as he handed the rolled up £20 note to Bijou. Colby chuckled softly after having indulged in the alternate substance himself prior to his best friend. "Tell me about it." Bijou snorted a line from the toilet seat before rising back up on her feet to caress the bridge of her nose; a bemused sigh passed her lips as she turned her attention to Monique, who smirked beside her. "Your turn." "Who needs anorexia when you can diet on coke?" Lacey allowed herself an echoed laugh as she watched Monique crouch down to partake in the drug consumption, whilst leant up against the cubicle's door, which was marked engaged. "You're not wrong there." "Well, well." Aiden leant back in the chair of his nightclub's office comfortably, where he looked up to view the CCTV monitors that had a live feed from the restroom. I can't say I'm looking forward to it yet - as I'm still waiting for the others! I'm hoping you haven't bitten off more than you can chew, and I hope to see the others resurface soonish. saltinespike Posted July 4, 2007 Share Posted July 4, 2007 (edited) Urm, I like it, but after reading other stories, I'm seeing repetitiveness and little variety. Obviously your writing is damn good, but I couldn't help but think "haven't I read this in M&P and Products?" It's like if I made a new novel about a man trying to take over a king's throne in Ancient Roman times. You may think "well, it's a great concept, but didn't I already see this in the Almighty Throne?" Do you understand what I'm saying? They all seem to be dealing with the underground [drug-peddling industries], and the characters always have a hint of innocence. You should link them together, now THAT would be exciting to read. Oxidizer Posted July 4, 2007 Author Share Posted July 4, 2007 I get what you're saying - and I agree - it is getting repetitive. That's why Album of Macabre is going to be my final original story with death videos as the subject. To be honest, I wanted to call it a night with the snuff film plot after Products, but thought of an idea to have a written photo album, and it just seemed to fit. The innocent aspect is there for one reason: for it to be stripped away by the deviants. I was thinking of linking this to M&P with Kristy reprising as the main villain but wanted someone less complex and more one-dimensional to make them come across as more cold and heartless. There's a character coming up called Sadie Monroe - she's nowhere near as sympathetic as Kristy is - she gets a kick out of her work. I might re-write what I've got to put Kristy in there instead and have Sadie's role changed a little. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I would personally like to see how you write in another genre, or simply another subject, seeing as you've basically got this one down. I have nothing wrong with the innocence, I was only pointing that out as an example of the repeats. My advice: move on. People love M&P, why change it? Move onto an entire new subject. I myself am a fan of war fics (if you are unable to tell by my writing, ha). Seeing a prison war story here would be original, entertaining, and wonderfully brilliant matched with your writing! I did have this really morbid and gruesome dream/nightmare the other night which I might turn into a story. There was this chick who was an art student and slowly killed off her friends to take pictures of it, classing it as 'art', and dismembered the bodies and dumped them in the sewers. It ended vividly with the drains overspilling and these very realistic decayed parts coming up in the street. It was gross. I don't know where that came from! I would definetly follow it on the concept alone. Your stuff reminds me a lot of Eli Roth's films (Cabin Fever, Hostel I&II), it's dark, perverse, sick, it takes me to a place I don't wanna be nor even hear about (but I still come back for more)...and I love the sh*t out of it! I doubt it'll happen until I've finished this and Products though - not to mention update NOUAS (I'm seriously lagging in that department). Aiden laid out a small batch of photographs on the surface of his desk, one by one. Monique Moore. Colby Larson. Bijou Simms. Remy Taylor. Lacey Grey. They were various snapshots taken outside the modelling agency 3 day before. "Compliments from Oscar." It'll definitely be up at the weekend as it's nearly finished. Not long now - I promise. I've also deleted The Album so that I can use those ideas for a different story I've got in mind called Notes from the Underground. That should be started once I've updated NOUAS (which won't be until Products is complete). NFTU will be written similiar to both Products and M&P and will feature one of the most cold-blooded characters I've ever created. Stay tuned...
