GTA IV for PC

Many people will emulate gta ctw on pc

I played Assassin's Creed: Altair's Chronicles and GTA Advance a little. Nothing interseting. So GTA CW will be the same I think.

OK guys let me try and figure out something.

 

I know that every time a GTA game comes out this kind of thread is open, even if it is only to know what kind of specs it will have, what mods will people create...

 

But why all this with GTA IV?

 

First there was false interview that many people took has R* official claim about "No GTA on PC". That was some sort of maneuver to tel us "Go and buy a box of plastic with some "Old Gen" hardware if you want to play the game".

 

Then people started thinking that was true because of the fact that 2 GTA Games came out before but no PC versions. Well here is something most people probably didn't noticed ... LCS & VCS were SONY exclusive not even Xbox got it ... only PS2 and PSP, the same has DLC for Xbox 360.

 

So that wasn't PC Dump ...actually it was something very similar to a MOD like Myriad Islands without all the bugs and issues. Nothing new, same city, same people ... only a new mission script and "paths", a few more cuts and ready to waste more money from people.

So I think someone that overreacted with the first "news" started all this mess and R* took advantage with it.

 

They never said "NO GTA for PC" they just did the smartest choice to keep people tracking it ...

 

Because of MS agreement they can't say anything, they can't say "forget no GTA for PC" because people would probably be mad at MS and R*, and if they went out to a store getting a console just to play the game (I know 3 people that did that) and then they announce it to PC ... I think piracy wouldn't be the only problem to R*

 

But they can't even say "Yah it will come out". But what do you expect? Something like: "Yes the game is in development, it will come out near Christmas, but for now you guys need to buy more BS toys incapable of running the game in a decent way.

 

Also I doubt DLC will be exclusive for XBOX for ever. MS payed R* 5 Million to get DLC, I doubt that was only for that. Those 5M were fr exclusive content, the content itself and some kind of agreement about a "blackout" about PC and the content for PC later.

 

For some odd reason I think GTA for PC is almost done and it won't be just a port. I think that Xbox and PS3 versions were ported from PC. I've seen the game and the console struggle with it. I've seen 2 Xbox getting RROD's, and with a device to measure heat ... when simply using the gun in GTA it increased 3 degrees ... after a while playing the textures took longer to load, and a lot of "pop up" buildings in game.

 

None of the consoles can keep the game stable and in high resolution, they have to scale like when you have a movie in 640x480 and you use full screen ... you can see it full size of screen but with a lot of pixels.

 

They have it ready, they are just waiting MS to give them green light, this is just a matter of agreements ... now NINTENDO a mostly common kids toy have GTA (chess game??? or something like it), although PSP a most capable hardware didn't get anything? Weird.

 

Calm down GTA will come out for sure, this is all a MARKTING crap to make GTA alive after everyone forgetting it. If it wasn't for the "excitement" of DLC GTA would be buried waiting for the next version.

It's Wednesday 9:33PM here in Australia right now. The site says T2 conference starts at Thursday 3:45AM. That would make it 6 hours away.

I suggest that no one comments on here about it unless they announce the PC version, then you all should scream out loud YAY its coming to PC before the topic get locked and the new one gets opened! I don't often agree with smiler_16 but in this case I hope people take note. If you are following the conference (god only knows why, it will probably only announce GTA 4 the f*cking card game). DO NOT spam the thread with blow by blow accounts of it. Wait until the conference is over and then post GTA 4 only thoughts.

Why are you all reacting like the DS is some kind of kids only console? There are plenty M rated games already out and still coming, and I'm pretty sure that Chinatown Wars will be top-down.

 

If you don't like it, don't play it, it's like punching someone because they like something you don't.

The DS announcement sealed the fate for any possible GTA IV for PC announcment at E3. No one should get their hopes up. Please don't spam the thread during the conference. I'm telling you now, you're wasting your time.

 

My take on the DS announcement is that R* cannot (contractually?) or will not (for whatever reason...sheer stupidity?) expose their GTA IV PC plans. That leaves handhelds. Remember, R* is primarily about the cash/quid. R* Leeds was probably sitting on their hands before GTA IV: Chinatown. So, this could be R*'s way of throwing them a bone. Naturally, Leeds would be thrilled to death, while we sit here and say 'WTF?' or 'What demand is there for this garbage?' There has to be some logical reason (OK, not really...but logical to R*).

 

Why the DS and not the PSP? Only God knows. Is it easier to code? Is the DS market larger? Does Leeds have more experience with the DS? I have no idea, mainly because I don't follow it.

 

Getting back to the PC version. It would be idiotic for them not to release it. It's the most technologically advanced/most competent platform with the largest market on the planet. Essentially, it's free cash...truckloads. Yet, they court Nintendo and the DS. Their actions (not just this, but everything) do not generate a lot of positive buzz within the PC gaming community (colossal understatement).

Well thats all R* Leeds are (a bunch of well paid modders)

 

There hasn't been anything really special that has came out of the R* Leeds office

its just copys of what other modders have previously done

 

 

 

1. GTA LCS/ GTAIII on the Vice City engine (Done by modders well before)

 

2.GTA VCS/ GTAVC with a few different cars and a ENBSeries style GFX mod (which the PS2 couldn't even handle)

How can this DS game effect the sales of GTA IV on the PC? Will someone actually go and buy the DS version just because there's no PC version? I highly doubt it. I don't think anybody here believes that a DS GTA would impact negatively on the possibility of a GTA IV PC version. It's just annoying that there is actual confirmation of a GTA on a platform that doesn't have an established GTA fanbase like the PC does.

i think that they are working on another expansion pack to the gta4 installment.

like they did with vice city on gta3.

the PC has many more features, and as you upgrade your PC you can see extra features which is better than the game was originally designed to look like

 

such as better anti aliasing and reflections, try checking out the ENBseries mod for GTA San Andreas.
