I was going to post in here but judging by the current state of this thread no one is interested in listening. You just want to run around sucking your thumbs, waving your arms and stamping your feet like 2 year olds. I thought PC gamers were meant to be a more mature audience, you guys really are showing that we can behave even worse than console kiddies.

Word. I think it's worth the wait. It adds to the anticipation. I just REALLY hope it will be released.

 

Also I have it on Xbox 360 anyway so I can wait (no I'm not being a console fanboy but it's true.)

Heh. I have no problem waiting, but I don't have it on Xbox. I have all other kinds of games on the PC. Will do me just fine, even if they decide not to port it.

Well said CC, I was a bit shocked by the reactions of some here mostly lead by a few but still. We are and should be disappointet, and we should lett Rockstar and T2 know about our dissappointment, but leave piracy out. Give them a little more time, there was NO DENIAL OR CONFIRMATION. As I said earlier we should not expect an announcement today, I only hoped for one.

 

So poeple chill, we originaly expected by the end of this month so lets see if that hits it.

Dear people at Rockstar Games,

 

I have 2 questions: one related to Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, the other related to GTA IV. Please reply in full as I have taken time to write this e-mail and that time will not be refunded to me.

 

Let me begin by asking my question about San Andreas. Rockstar executive Sam Houser said in an interview, dating 2 years from ago, that there was still 1 big easter egg left in San Andreas that nobody had found. He reffered to it as "a Big One", if I remember correctly. Yet in the meantime no major secret has been found left in the game. The discussion over this easter egg has once again found it's way to the GTA Forum and people are wondering if mr. Houser's words were not an intentional lie to ensure that we kept enjoying San Andreas until GTA IV would be released.

I personally do not believe that a creative mind as mr. Houser would lie to its own customers. Therefore I have tried to come up with a theory, other than Bigfoot or UFO's (do not worry).

Now, you probably can see my question coming right? My theory was that if there was nothing left in the game itself, it had to be something related to the game. The epsilon cult itself was one of the major easter eggs found at that time. So I pondered that if someone was to send a check to this PO Box, he would get a key of some sorts. This does sound far fetched, however no other theories is left standing.

After all these years, could we please have an answer to what that big easter egg might be? For I do not believe that any other detail has been overlooked. I thank you in advance.

I have been a GTA fan ever since the first game was released for PC. After that I bought Sony's Playstation, Playstation 2 and PSP. I own all of the GTA games, when possible both for Playstation and PC, and consider myself to be one of the most loyal fans out there. I love the work that Rockstar Games has done over the past few years and remain hopeful for years to come.

But I do wish to express my concerns about Rockstar's future plans for the PC-platform. How is it that a franchise that was born on PC can neglect its most loyal fans like Rockstar does? I know we usually get our version 6 months after the consoles do. But in those 6 months the hype over the game cools down and we usually know the story-line by heart even before we have ever played the game. I know the gaming industry, just like any other industy, thrives on profit. I would however like to stress that by using this marketing technique you are killing off your own market share on PC. Hardcore PC gamers will persistantly refuse to buy consoles and vice versa

Furthermore, as you probably already know (for I'm sure Rockstar follows the GTA forums), a lot of people have voiced their complaints about Grand Theft Auto IV on the boards. I believe the percentage of people that like the game, including me, is aproximately 60%. The other 40% has been somewhat disappointed by the game. A lot of people are even considering buying Saint's Row 2, the ultimate Grand Theft Auto rip-off. I even heard someone say he wanted to trade in his copy of GTA IV for a copy of Saint's Row 2 due to lack of finance. This is of course creates a negative vibe surrounding the game.

And it's these two factors combined that are threatening your future markets.

I have listened to the live feed of Take Two's financial Q2 report today and I'm well informed of the record-breaking first week release data. However I do know, after comparing sales data, that the hype is dying out much faster compared to Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.

Now for my question... How does Rockstar feel about releases on PC in the future? Will you keep excluding us PC-gamers from the initial 6 months of gameplay fun or are we going to see some change and equality?

This was written with no intentional harm. Like I said before, I'm probably one of the biggest fans out there, but too much is too much. I'm really looking forward from hearing from Rockstar Games in a full and explicable manner.

Well there is no real mystery really as to what will happen on the forum WHEN the PC version is announced. First up there will be much fun and frivolity between all the mods. I believe jallar has already booked the space behind the photocopier to do much accosting of the females .

 

Once all the partying is done and we have all gone "nah nah told ya so" to all the console kiddies, this thread will be locked. On that day it will be a shirt, suit and tie day so wear your sunday best. If you haven't got a shirt and tie then get them from Persues in Liberty City

 

Then from the ashes of the "GTA IV for PC - Will it happen ?" thread will rise a brand spanking sub forum in the main GTA IV forum, they will probably call this forum something like "General PC chat", I would petition it to be called something like "ha ha console kiddies told ya so", but I think they will stay with "General PC chat". In this new sub-forum you will be able to talk and open topics regarding the PC version of GTA IV, there will be much fun and frolicking and the lion will lie with the lamb, but obviously the lamb will be sh*tting itself (ie it will be paradise).

 

So how do I know all this ? because people this is EXACTLY what happened nearly 4 years ago. There was a thread 4 years ago discussing whether GTA SA would come to the PC, there were discussions about the PC not handling it, there were people threatening to google Sam and Dan's gob. Now to get to this nirvana of a sub-forum all we have to do is BE patient, keep the warez talk to ZERO and BUY the game when it comes out, who knows if everyone BUY'S the game this time we might get treated a lil bit better when the next GTA comes out.

Well after seeing that i see it has a brilliant point... and i am now actually thinking of canceling the plans to create a GTAIV Port team (Because GTAIV is just that crap... and that video just adds up what GTAIV really is...)

Screw this, I'm sticking with Mafia2. Maybe I'll pick up gta4 when its on the shelf for $15 if ever. These slimy f*cks are like an ugly amalgam of industrialism and movie-star self importance. They suck their own dicks to their own shoddy product and stick it to their customers who gobble their balls happily while stimulating their prostates with their video game controllers "AND WE LOVE THE NEW AIMING AND TARGETING TOO"

I know that it isn't official statement from the Take2 site but who cares??anyway you're all informed: it will be released this October, believe it or not, I don't care. They will auto reply emails but by phone you could ask not for release dates but if it's possible that we will see gta IV on pc...as I said before they won't answer direct questions...

 

I can't understand why they do not deny the pc version if there are "sure" it won't happen...denying would help consoles sales!

On my uploaded youtube video, lazlow said he's sure people will modify the game because when you release a game on the pc platform it's something easy to do (consoles aren't)... he told this with diferent words but the way he explain that matter make me confident that we will see the pc version! I believe that the deal with MS it's not restricted to DLC but also include some time exclusivity and you can bet one month is not worth US$50 million...maybe we will only have the announcement on the beginning of Take2's 2009 fiscal year (November 08)...

Like I said before, GTA III and GTA VC took around 4-5 months to be announced to the PC after the release of the Playstation 2 version. Secondly, to all those people that act like children and wanna spam / pirate GTA, well grow the f**k up. If you think Rockstar does not realize the scores of GTA IV PC fans out there that are desperate for a game, you are delusional.

 

Now I agree with all of you, that the treatment of PC Gamers by Rockstar has been extremely disgraceful and ill, and I am personally disgusted by the actions of Rockstar. However, Rockstar wasn't even nearly as bad as Bioware when they released Mass effect. Rockstar was giving the PC community a "no comment" response, which clearly means if anything, that they are thinking very very much about the PC version. Compare that to what the makers had to say about a Mass effect for the PC shortly after it was released:

 

 

"6. Will Mass Effect be coming to the PC?

 

Chris Priestly: Mass Effect is planned as an Xbox 360 exclusive title. This means we are not working on a PC version and have no plans to start making one."

Considering this was sometime in later October 2007, look at us now, we have a PC mass effect. Not only a crappy PC port, but actually a very well thought port with significant interface/ graphical changes that actually blows the console version out of the water.

 

Now if you are pissed about GTA IV not being announced to the PC yet, spamming Rockstar's emails and speaking about illegal actions such as Piracy / Reverse engineering Porting (Which I doubt anyone is capable of withing the span of a few years, other than Rockstar that is), is not going to do anything other than actually add to the hype of GTA IV and giving Rockstar the idea that their action of ignoring the PC community was the right thing to do to increase the hype.

 

What you actually should do to protest the game is forget about it, move on, buy some of the great PC games that are making it to our great platform, and essentially kill any GTA IV PC hype left. Maybe then Rockstar will realize that hype is dieing, and they will panic enough to announce a GTA IV release date.

 

If they don't, I will do exactly that. I will move on, and look forward to the long list of amazing games making it to the PC this year.

This is so hard, just look at the PS2 emulator for PC and you'll know the reason!
