GTA IV for PC

There is nothing much to say here until the report is out. But I'm wondering what would happen if they didn't announce it.. the probability of a PC version will be highly reduced IMO. Because if they didn't announce it now, there will be no better time to do so, as people will forget about it and completely forget the existence of this game and move on to Mafia 2 and SR2, so Whorestar and T2 should make the right move and announce it TODAY.

Consoles are the PRIMARY source of gaming. Don't kid yourself in thinking PC gamers are the largest market. I won't contest the possibilities of PC gaming, but I will argue Microsoft, who works and acknowledges both markets (Sony does too, BTW)...is literally struggling with WinVista and now Windows 7 is moved up a year to take it's place in mid-2009.

In fact, Vista and Media Center Edition seem like the Win98 Second Edition and Windows ME of their era. I love Windows ME but if it didn't come OEM, you got burned. I got mine on an eMachine no less and it has never been an issue for me. I still own it.

Earth to Slamman - IT'S ONLY ABOUT THE MONEY (with R*). As things are now, PC will sell at least 2 million, maybe 3 (there has been a bit of negative feedback on the game, you know). Think how much would it sell had it been properly advertised and released CONTEMPORARY with console release. If anything, consoles will mark the DEATH of gaming.

There are more then 13 million of hard core gaming machines out there (those that KICK ALL CONSOLES BUT, probably the next-next-get that don't even exist yet), more then 52 million of "mainstream" gamers (those PC are at least on par with consoles) and another tidbit of around 200 million "casual" gamers. In total they estimate there are more then 90 million PCs in the world with newer graphics cards. Yeah, a small market indeed. ("" is not needed here, it's more then obvious).

Yeah, MS is struggling . They are at their last breath. Vista may not be an ideal solution and it will most probably be made obsolete by this time next year, but that didn't stop M$ to cash in on all those expensive corporate licenses. You see, they have a monopoly in OS market, so when they say to companies "get our new OS, do it now!", companies ask "how many copies do you want us to buy?". They are loaded.

 

Seriously, though. M$ does suffer some losses over that freak console of theirs. What was that again? 33% x365 failure rate?

Everyone here already know that this interview is fictional and that it's a mirror of what reality is with some humorous quotes, but the facts written in that quotes are true IMO.

I'd also like to say that indeed console gaming is the dominant and it's pretty huge now, thats only because it is cheaper, but let me ask you a question, what the f*ck are the consoles without PC? NOTHING. Period. Without computers consoles would never exist, not to mention that consoles ARE computers that only play games, while real computers are capable of gaming, internet, chatting, doing work and studies..etc

So there, PC is ahead of consoles by leaps and light years.

As far as Vista goes, I don't really see any problem with it so far, I have both XP and Vista, and 99% of the time I use Vista, IMO it is faster, extremely stable and secure. So far its only disadvantage is that it uses alot more power than XP and games have slight performance decrease in it compared with XP, but that's not a big problem for me.

I'm not sure but I read somewhere that Windows 7 will be released in 2010-2012, but I'M NOT SURE of the source.

The PC isn't the largest market. Of course, the console market is. Kids play with their consoles (Wii is the most succesful console, by the way, not too big in the U.S., huge market outside of America) because it's easy and fun. They can't tell the difference between 800x600 and full HD resolution ('cept for 8x6 is 4:3). The American PC gaming market isn't big, but take Crysis for an example. It sold very poorly in America, but in the rest of the world I think it sold 1 million+ units. And the Wii... The Wii is bigger than any other console. Again, maybe not in America, but certainely in Japan, China´, the rest of Asia and Europe. If I were to buy one console, it'd be the Wii.

From what i saw on shacknews right now, i believe its turning up to be a rather ice competitor to IV.

And the fact that it is already announced on PC means it has a major advantage over IV.

Wow, that the first time I ever heard someone actually like ME(the worst windows ever). There are unfortunatly no real statistic that shows PC gaming current status, but from numbers that we have shows that in europe PC gaming is actually bigger than both PS3 and XBOX360. There are allot of things on PC that goes unaccountet for(like online distribution) so PC gaming is only bigger than the stats shows.

Well like you said: low resources don't necessarily mean a bad game... So let's not judge SR2 without having played it.

and as that guys PC goes Core Duos are too expensive for they're price and power, I have a AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ (2.81GHz) and I bought it just for few euros more that a core duo. so you loose.

like , I don't CARE that the cars control realistically ,I just want to push the nitro button and drive fast,you know? so many driving games don't even let me do that anymore :'(

I kinda hate all today's games with nitro because they're all arcades and there is no realism or quality there.

NfS' have it,but they suck regularly. E(extremely)A(awful). Both Juiceds are completely ruined. THe fuQ.

I like GRID,but why don't the tuners have Nitro? That is a bit illogical. But I have to say it's the best driving experience I ever had with my G25 wheel. Not miss the Nitro here since there are no long straights and drifting is always fun(don't use aids).
