Yeah, I saw some people talking about how the console-kiddies are actually spoiling the game for us, gamers. The real ones. The PC gamers.

I'm actually proud to say I've stayed away from spoilers and not much has been spoiled for me.

I just hope they DO release it for the PC, an I'm sure they will, so I can play it proper.

But I don't think I'm gonna buy it though. It's an insult, and I'm not going to pay money for it.

Does anyone here actually find this game "Breathtaking" like the reviews said? I, for one, can say that i do not.

As for mkey82's comments about the game, I can concur this is probably the easiest GTA I have ever played in my life.  Not once in the game did I feel challenged.

Than you for your support. A lot of people keep saying this is normal, but it isn't. The gamepley is just nonexistent.

What people say about the difficulty level of the game worries me?

And you should be worried. But take it easy, GTA is dying so what?! There are other games.

Some questions

Is there a difficulty level adjuster? If so how easy is easy and so on.

NO. Believe it or not, this is the first thing I asked my friend after seeing him do some missions. It just seemed to easy. He was going through missions like through butter. And he's not that good gamer (skill wise) in most games he uses cheats, always doing things the "ugly" way, with no grace.

Is there a way to turn of the Autoaim system?

On consoles I think you may just not use it (theL1 or the left trigger button or something). You can aim manually with right analog but on consoles it's like shooting fish in the sea. I hope they will cut the PC functionality and leave auto aim out. It's one horrible thing. You just keep the button pressed and Niko track your target no matter what - behind the cover, behind the wall, runing, whatever.

Are the hitboxes big or realistic? and does it differ from peds/cops and yourself?

What are hitboxes? If you mean are the gunfights easy? Yes, they are. In one mission Niko is surrounded with a couple of guys. They aim and shoot at Niko while my friend tries to act. He's not that quick and takes his time, so it took like 30 second for 3 guys at close range. They hit Niko a couple of times. Ridiculous. On other hand, in free ride when surrounded by a couple of cops, you get wasted pretty quick, just not on missions. In another mission, you need to steal some van. You walk up to it, the guy gets out and he and his friend start shooting at Niko. Since all of this is going near the road, people hearing shots start driving like raving mad, one cab hits Niko he falls for like 5 second, falls under the cab, cab does some ugly sliding/twitching (best physics ever sarcasm.gif) movement, Niko manages to get up (after some 30 seconds the whole incident started), my friend goes around the van, pulls out the gun, shoots and kills one guy then enters the van and drives off. DURING THIS AFFAIR HE DOESN'T GET SHOT ONCE. Once more, this is not on "easy" setting, it's just plain easy. Even worse, it's dumb.

With maximum wanted level is it easy to get away?

I haven't seen max level, on one star you can get away in couple of moments (the wanted system is copied fro Scarface, so if you played that it will seem strangely familiar). On two and three stars the search are is larger, cops spawn here and there, but it's no biggie to loose them. Three stars in GTA3 were a bit tricky to just drive away from. Now it's fairly easy, drive fast, take some turns and you're on your merry way to freedom. From what I hear, on five and six stars it gets pretty difficult since the search are is very large and cops spawn all over the place (yeah, the did announce cops will not be spawning but realistically come from police stations; yeah, right, just one more lie).

About those radio stations. IMHO the quality has gone down considerably, it just isn't fresh anymore and five hip hop stations is just too much. I believe they will leave user track option in on PC. If they don't that will be one more nail in their coffin. If necessary, modding community will soon fix that. This GTA will need the modders to give it some replay value.

@Illusion: Breathtaking? Ha, don't make me laugh! Reviewers and previewers lied through their teeth. Sad bastards.

at this moment i'm very mad at r* for treating the pc gamers like this.. i will never buy a f'kin console.. gta was made on/for the pc.. it's just stupid to play with a console.. i got 2 games in my list that i will buy: Mafia II and Saint's Row 2.. conclusion: the consoles made the game look "retard" in many aspects.. i'm beginning to have no more respect for rahkstar2.gificon13.gif

After reading several disapointment, whining threads, I dont really care if it comes to PC or not mercie_blink.gif

I mean, these guys made it sound like the game really sucks suicidal.gif

And the "defenders" of the GTA didnt make that good impression on me. On the contrary.

I started to regret that I have read these threads confused.gif

Well, at least I was succesfully anty-hyped, so I wont get disappointed, as for now I'm expecting the worst...

Yea, count me as one of the guys who doesn't care if it's coming out for PC anymore lol. Lot's of other games I'm looking forward to anyways.

Pity though, cos I was hoping this game would blow me over.

Well, as we all know, if the game was made properly (for PC), it would have blown you over. But...it is Rockstar we're talking about here, and they've lost touch with what it takes to make good games.

stop it!!!rockstar gonna release it on october.no doubt bout' it!!!!!!!!!

it ain't about that, it's about rahkstar2.gificon13.gif doing this to the loyal pc gamers.. and indeed they had to make the console versions much weaker, because those fu'kin toys can't handle a real game..

I think that's what Whorestar wants.

They over-hyped the console version so alot of people bought it and sadly they got disappointed and when they whine about how sucky the game is, we, PC gamers, read their whining* and bitching which kills our hype and believe them and don't bother about the PC port anymore.. so thats it, Whorestar want us not to care about a PC port so they DON'T do it.. thats a tactic and thats what probably happened. Please add me to the list of the people that doesn't care about a PC port anymore, at least for the time being.

*A sad but true fact, after I played it, it's now obvious to me that the game was indeed overhyped and isn't that great or what the reviews claimed to be. Whorestar GAVE money to reviewers IMO to hype the game so that everyone buys it and they get all the money they want from a half assed game that really doesn't deserve that half billion that was grossed in the first week, yes, they only care about MONEY. And thats what business is these days: Cheating.

They didn't give money to reviewers. You gotta remember that people who review games are just like the rest of us.

They're excited about the games and they want their favorite game series to do great.

I'm sure the hype over the game helped a bit.

The game basically sold well on the strength of the brand.

All the controversy surrounding the previous games made it even more desirable to people...at least it made them a bit more curious about GTA 4. When you wait for a game for so long and then finally get it you tend to look past the flaws the game might have. And that's exactly what's happening with GTA 4 .

Can't be entirely true.

Remember that many of the GTA news sites never bring up anything at all......ABSOLUTELY NOTHING...about the PC version of GTA IV...until Rockstar tell them it is ok to do so.

I'm talking mainly about PlanetGTA.com, but you don't have to look very far to realize that many GTA sites are infected with this "we are Rockstar's bitch" attitude, and furthermore, this attitude sadly shows itself in reviews written by larger mainstream gaming sites as well.

Regarding info on the PC version: I'm sure it's just that they are piss-weak and sh*t-scared over losing their rights to the merchandising crap that Rockstar keeps sending them, but they could show a bit of initiative for once, and publicly question Rockstar's intentions (or lack thereof).

As far as I know there are documented examples where some reviewers got fired after giving some "acclaimed" title a lousy review. You don't have to give magazines money directly to influence them. Lets assume you are the owner of some company. You release some product on the open market. You also pay good marketing money to local newspaper to promote your company. One could definitely not recognize this as bribery. But what if something went wrong with your product and the local newspaper finds your endorsement more valuable then publishing truth? This happens with media in my country all the time. When newspaper has to live of commercial adds their objectivity is brought into question.

Well there have been several occasions where game reviewers give an honest review for a game and then get fired for it.

The most recent one involves Jeff Gerstmann (former Gamespot employee) . He gave a game an honest review and got fired for it. That's how the game business works nowadays. Publishers ensure that their games get good reviews by any means and people ,for the most part, don't give honest reviews anymore because ,honestly, who wants to lose their job over some stupid game ?

Well thats what some of the driver fans think reflections will do (because they know that the next will be called Driver 4)

if any of the guys on here dont believe it'll be called Driver 4

then go and check out the interviews with gareth edmondson from reflectiions on youtube, when he was discussing Driver Parallel Lines!

Yeah but i dont think they'll be starting to work on it just yet, because they have been developing games for younger gamers with the team at reflection (because Ubi purchased reflections while they had purchased the Driver game series!) and if your interested in the games which they have been developing then google emergency heroes (although as far as i'm aware its going to be exclusive to the Wii - just because its primarilly a kids (and old grannys) console)

Jeff was not fired because of GTA IV. It was possibly because of one EA title.
