More a sign of what the game was intended to be like.

Must have lowered the detail to up the FPS.

Hopefully icon14.gif .

Its the only ugly thing i noticed on all the trailers.

Some of the trailers look "crappy" compared to how everything looks in-game on the 360/ps3. My guess is that the trailers were made on a PC where there has always been a downgraded effect on the visual quality in previous titles (In terms of just pure aesthetics that is). Consoles always have cheap filter effects and its probably the same story with GTAIV.

I might be taking things out of context, but its a thought:

I have seen GTA IV at friends house yesterday and have to share this. I don't know if this could be treated as a spoiler, I'll mark it as one, but this is only my opinion, no details about the actual story or anything are revealed.

Here goes nothing

The game seems TOO easy. My friend is not that good player, but he went through missions like through butter. He did 16 missions in a couple of hours and that was 12% of the game. Also, gun fights are DEFINITELY too easy, NPCs aim like they are demented, you have plenty of time to react (guess why, hmm, second grade, slow controlling device?). Cut scenes are LONG. Character talk a LOT. There are some ugly glitches (when jumping on the wall, Niko got stuck "in the middle" of the wall; we almost had to reset the game). Loading times are there, but nothing to worry about. All this is for SP only.

So, I don't know. Before I just didn't think of it, but now it seems that Mafia 2 doesn't have that complicated task of surpassing GTA IV. IMHO.

Wasn't this the same deal with previous GTA's? I imagine npc reaction time is an easy thing to tweak for the purposes of cross-platform releases.

I saw a gunfight video and I really hope the PC version will have stronger ennemies.

I mean the guy that played needed like 3 seconds to shoot the ennemies and I was saying to myself:

Damn, If it was a game on pc, that idiot should have been killed like 10 times.

The gunfights seem to have a low difficulty (perhaps because of the joypad).

Not like this. It was somewhat slower before, but not that much since the auto aim in SA was rather fast and accurate.

This guys shoot at you, but they don't hit. My friend needed to steal a van, two armed guys were inside. They exited the vehicle and started to shoot. A car rammed Niko so he went down, then got up and around the van. It took at least 15 seconds and they didn't hit him once. It was VERY lame.

(perhaps because of the joypad)

No perhaps about it. That is the REASON.

Mafia 2 will own the PC version. There are plenty of things in the first Mafia game that still owns GTA IV, and the graphics in Mafia is still great. Mafia 2 will have a crashing system that is more advanced than Burnout Paradise.

It will be the best, and I also hope it will be a nice example of what crossplatform development should result in.

IloveGTAIV(onPC)

In connection with uncertainty with output GTA4 on PC we could show from its part some activity in search of the corresponding information. As it seems to us, our efforts have not gone to waste. On a site of distributor GTA4, Take-Two Interactive, the interesting page - http://www.take2games.com/index.php?p=game...a4&platform=PC-, at which as you understand, remarkable enough address has been found out. Contents, unfortunately, there are not present also page are empty, but is possible, in the near future it nevertheless will be filled wink.gif. Certainly Take2 it not RockstarGames, and presence of the similar address on a site of the distributor does not give us any guarantee in our happy future smile.gif, and nevertheless … As they say, the hope dies last and the bases for acceptance of poison still are not present. That fact is remarkable also, that in base Google the given page has been added 4/18/2008, that is more recently. To what it?

What do you think in this occasion?

mkey82,

I know what you mean. It's a bit of a buzz killer. No doubt it will be better than ever and will be great to play on the PC, but...I don't think it's as revolutionary as most of the the boot-licking reviewers claim. A lot of features that I thought would be really nice are not included. I'm talking about usable trunks, portable MP3 players, no in-cab cameras on the subway, and so on. Some of these were mentioned in previews. Were these features cut at the last moment?

Also, from what I gather, like you stated, the missions are too similar to those in previous GTAs (easy, somewhat repetitive, less than intelligent AI....blow this up, snipe this guy, steal this car, etc.).

I'm not worried about glitches or graphics quality so much. R* usually does a fair job with that when they port and a lot of these issues have to do with the limitation of consoles.

The more I think about it, the more I look forward to Mafia II. Granted we don't know much yet. However, the graphics have made a much bigger jump than SA->GTA IV and it does not seem to be overhyped. Also, there seems to be even more depth there. I really liked how there were no markers over enemies heads, how you could check killed enemies' pockets, how there weapons lacked the flare-like glow those in GTA IV have. Mafia II has a big advantage in being designed for the PC (or at least in a way that takes full advantage of today's superior PC hardware, unlike GTA).

GTA IV has added depth with character relationships and multiple branches in the storyline, but not much more than that from what I understand. I will reserve final judgment till I have had the chance to play it on the PC. But...

Bring on Mafia II!

Extensive car damage, with physical destruction model supposedly even more detailed and prettier than the one from the acclaimed Burnout Paradise (according to the journalists at press presentation) with damaged car body, broken glass or exploding gas tanks.

NUFF SAID!! IT`LL BE AWSOME!!

Mafia and GTA are two completely diferent beasts.

Mafia 2 looks better but it will probably have load times betwean missions and mission specific places like building interiors that only load once.. its diferent.

I dont expect one to be better than the other, i think they will both be great but for diferent reasons.

I heard you can't pick up every weapon W/ a console version.

such things musn't happen on PC! I don't want them to make special icons for every piece of crap, but they at least can make niko use everything as a weapon(at least whot NPCs use). they got euphoria in,it's that simple.ANd how the f*ck is possible cops cant get to Niko when he's climbed somewhere from street level? I accept they can't catch him when landed on a rooftop, but this?

I know consoles don't have nuff computing power to handle detailed gun animations, but PCs do.(you got the point?)

I don't think an immigrant would want to tune cars himself,so i believe R* can't make a mistake with letting tuned cars on tha streets to be stolen./let someone else(most likely brucie) tune them for N1ko. As I see it,PC will be getting the complete IV w/ the packs for XBox "0/365" onboard,so don't fear.

A Swedish store lists it too, but I'm sure they're just guessing as well...

WHAT??

CDON.com is Norwegian, danish and swedish! I also think its finland. Its scandinavias most serious site to order games from! I`ve bought many games from them!!

There is also a Euro version of CDON.

And yes you are correct, there is also a version for the people in Finland.

To get back on topic.

I've noticed that neither the 2nd game of condemned has been given out for PC. Perhaps it's a new "thing" to not let the PC people play games.

I've noticed that too. I thought Condemned was a fantastic game on PC -- it's one of my favorites. I don't see why Condemned 2 isn't on PC. It might come out later as well.

Yeah I loved the game.

I am suprised I havnt heard of Jack Thompson when it comes to that game. Weird.

Hopefully that will release later on PC. If it does, that will be a first buy, after GTA IV (if that gets on pc)
