Sony really does suck dogs balls. It is not said often enough.

 

I've seen their consoles; had them open, performed repairs on them. I must say: they make some seriously cheap, easy-to-break, proprietary camel sh*t. They used this camel sh*t, and the money they got selling it, to destroy the GTA series and Rockstar's reputation.

Same is true for M$, the fact that they used the money they got from PC owners to bribe R* for the X360 version and that until linux (or macs) become suitable for serious gaming we can't avoid their products - just makes it that little bit worse.

PS: I dont have a game console and am not planning to get one. I always thought that mouse and keyboard are choice for any game (well except fightings probably)

BUT you have to admire the concept of a game console. You practically NEVER have to upgrade it, you ALWAYS get to run the game on the highest settings and you actually play it as it was intended. Every console is THE SAME with minor differences in HDD etc. I guess if all PCs were equally superpowerful and productive, there would be no bugs in games or programs at all.

Well, concerning the console regime, it's the lowest common denominator syndrom at work.

How can we produce a product that's noticably better than the former generation while fullfilling:

- Keeping costs at a reasonable level, i.e finding the components that will suffice concerning both performance and low costs

- Finding producers that are able to deliver enough of the components. At launch, you don't want to outsell and leave customers waiting for ages.

 

We all know that when considering PC building, the options are a true neverending story. You can choose from so many types of motherboards, graphic cards, CPUs and so on. When designing a new console, the outcome is carved in stone so to speak, and the components have to work together with as little fuzz as possible. The occasional "deluxe" edition is of course possible, but then again a larger harddisk is barely anything to call "deluxe".

I guess when PS3s will be available to rent I might get it to play gta and maybe a couple more games. Here in New Zealand you can buy PS3+GTA4 set for about 625 USD - not some pocket money I could spare just for the love of the GTA series

Number 1 in my view is valid but its only an opinion.

Number 2 is 100% true.

Number 3 is 100% true depending on the graphics card and settings you have it on.

Number 4 is not true, if you like playing it on the console then good for you, if you like to play it on the PC thats good too. In my opinion, the PC wins it for me as you can see from my sig

I see many console gamers being penises in this thread, trying to enrage our fury at Rockstar. Of course if someone like that come in here and talk about why we should give up and flash their version in our face, most of us get angry and attack back. Those people have no business in here and should just shut up. The man you quoted did an unprovoked attack on console gamers, but he represent the few.

 

We(at least I) do not hate console gamers, but I do hate consoles as they in reality are very limited PC in every aspect and I can't live with that, and the concsequenses of such limited enviroment will be many if they do kill of PC gaming(I do not fear it yet, but I don't like the trend). Yes piracy is a problem, I admit that I have pirate games, but in these times with Steam and other legal download services I have almost completly stopped my piracy in gaming. I now have 42 legal games on steam, and I will gladly add GTA IV to that list.

While I don't vent on console gamers themselves (only the f*ckhead ones), I am constantly having a good-old go at the consoles themselves (PlayStation 2 & 3 and XBox 360), as well as the companies that manufacture them. Nintendo is yet to completely ruin a game series, and they can actually come up with their own ideas, so they are good guys in my view...but Sony and Microsoft...

The most things are true, but only important part is that the most consols are using hardware from PC with some modulations, and still the computer got better graphic, after that comes gameplay...all they you just sit with gamepad in hand, i cant event watch tv when i play on console.

I could not resist it, i've bought GTA4 for my PS3. I can't wait anymore, am im glad that i did it. The game is very good, however the framerate is bad! Really bad, im lucky to get frames above the 30.... Anyway, if this gets released for the PC im also gonna buy it.

And the argument, it was made on a PC, says nothing because every game is developed on a PC (or Mac or Linux PC or whatever) and says nothing about its playability.

there are two thing that are ultimately confirmed

 

1.the ps3 version has lot of bug during online play

 

2. the ps3 version doesnt give a real high defnition effect apart from its frame rate also slowing during intense gameplay and online play.

Why would they?

 

In terms of architecture the 360 is much closer to the PC than the PS3. If a PC does get released then it will be a port of the 360 version rather than the PS3 version. Although one would hope that the PC version will take advantage of the additional capabilities the more recent graphics cards offer (hah - fat chance).

hei.. here in my country a simple ps3 costs U$1100 dollar.. or R$ 2000,00 reias.

 

It´s a lot of money for me.. Even if I have money to buy It I wouldn´t because video game smells sh*t..

 

With this money I can buy a nice computer that it will certanly play gta 4 and with a computer I can do a lot of things that a video game can´t do...

 

And I already have a good computer...and I really like grand theft auto...

 

Sooo GTA REALLY NEED come out fot PC or I will ..
