Getting GTA IV for PC would be an excellent idea, i am already waiting for it if it is true that there will be one.

The only thing that i don't agree is that they wrote on wikipedia a serbian volonter of the bosnian war.

For those who don't know it the same serbian volonters has been accused of genocide, the worst genocide after ww2 in Bosnia.

There was Srebrenica Genocide that you can read on wikipedia. I hope that the next time GTA IV will only think in the financial way but also to not injury the war victims.

I already sent e-mail to them for that.

Are you you talking about the Player Character, Niko Bellic, being a volunteer soldier in the Bosnian War? If you read the reviews from IGN and Gamespot, you would see that Niko came to America to escape that life, and the game centers around the character's internal conflict regarding how do deal with a past that he supposedly considers reprehensible (while at the same time trying to build a new life by being a hired gunman).

 

May I suggest a game that demonstrates similar complicated moral dilemas in a different context: The Witcher. If you have a broadband connection, you can go to The Witcher Official Website and buy a download version from their store that they might have in your language.

Full list of nearly 300 games coming to the PC this year. Yeah right the PC is dead as a gaming system biggrin.gifbiggrin.gif . I dread to think how many games a year we would get if the PC was "thriving". Oh there are also quite a few games not on that list either, but it is as comprehensive as you are going to get.

 

Just a word about those that said they will "pirate" this version of GTA 4, shame on you. We need to show developers that the PC is a THRIVING market not a THIEVING market. Seriously if you pirate GTA 4 on the PC then you are quite clearly scum and no friend of the PC or Gaming. All assuming we get a PC version that is, but I am not gonna go there I am depressed enough about the whole situation as it is.

guys guys... let me just tell y'all what I'm feeling right now... Grand Theft Auto 3 was released on PC... also GTA VICE CITY AND GTA SAN ANDREAS... the Stories were not released on PC due to the contract of Rockstar with Sony to exclusively release it on PS2 and PSP... now, GTA 4... I'd say wow... A new title with new characters with a new city rendition with a new game engine... wow... could Rockstar just leave PC GAMERS like us? when we were the ones who made Rockstar famous through playing the old skool GTA GAMES... to Rockstar, think about it, without the PC, could u possibly make the GTA GAMES? I'm done... LoL

The stories were planned as hand-held games only. Then they were ported to the PS2. It was basically Vice City/Liberty City with a new story and new characters. They even ported the old, original Vice City map into the game. No addition except for a some houses and a billboard or two. And the GFX were worse too. We don't really need it, though it would be awesome with a new story. Try emulating it with one of those fancy console emulators.

I'd love to see a PC release and I think the only way we are going to see graphics of the quality many were expecting is on a PC at 1920*1080 + with a high end graphics card and a full 10gb + HDD install (even if it means everything is compressed down to fit more than a dual layer dvd can hold and then uncompressed to install and it takes an hour or more to install).

 

The game is still excellent on the console, but it is clear that the console limitations are holding it back visually.

 

If not at least Mafia II is coming to a PC and with a risk of being completely flamed, I preferred Mafia to any of the GTA games wow.gif

Call of Duty started on the PC, you were just lucky to have it on your console

Grand Theft Auto started on the PC, you were just lucky to have in on your console

 

And every other damned game released on the PC, you were lucky enough to get.

And yes it is pretty frustrating that people are now turning tables saying that pc gamers 'have to be lucky' and that 'consoles will take over'. Actually consoles are becoming computers. Consoles didn't have a hard drive back in the day. But let's not fight each other here, Rockstar not releasing a PC version will be considered an act of treason to a lot of people. And people do not always forget and forgive. And I do not think that everyone will just say 'I will get a console for this game'.

Consoles bit by bit are becoming like the Home Computers people had in the 80's and 90's. I won't say PC as to me it just means IBM Personal Computer clone and that means things like ISA slots and expandability.

 

I even suspect that M$ wants this (they tried it before with the MSX). They'll produce a special version of Works or Office for the Xbox 720 home computer and mums and dads will buy it because it'll help their kids with their school work (and just like in the 80's it'll only be used for playing games).

 

Back to the future?

I've always liked GTA more than Mafia, but it could be the other way around. Mafia looks alot better, and it's made for PC, not some stupid console.

This was the biggest problem with San Andreas profits, too many useless people in the world who wouldn't get a job (which would help them in more ways than buying games) and pay for the game. Piracy is wrong in all its forms and anyone caught engaging in such activities should have their hands cut off, much like theives in Arabia because it is the same thing.

 

If you're a pirate then I seriously hope you burn in hell for all eternity when your time on this earth is over!

Sorry I should have said "PC Profits"...They weren't anywhere near what they should have and could have been. Sure it made a bit of money but it would have made a LOT more if it wasn't for bloody pirates. smile.gif I'm not saying it didn't make money, that would be foolish, but it certainly didn't make as much money as it could have.

Gronf: Yes I do purchase ALL my music, the Mp3's I have on my HDD are ripped from CD's I OWN, bought and paid for with my hard earned money, the only reason I have Mp3's is to prevent damage to the CD's themselves, I burn those Mp3's to compilation CD's I use in my car and such but I own the originals for every song I have in Mp3 format. I despise hypocrites so it's highly unlikely I would be one myself. SO STOP PIRATING YOU PARASITE. tounge.gifdevil.gif

Pirating music is one thing but pirating software is far far worse.

 

Record companies and bands get money from record sales, concerts, merchandising and in the UK at least from radio stations.

 

Games companies normally only get money from sales of the game.

Wait... First you say you're NOT gonna spend $500 on one game, then you say you're not the only one who got a PS3 for one game...

 

I feel stupid because I even thought about getting an Xbox for one game. I'd regret it so fast. Glad I didn't do it.

Good for you. I was expecting a hypocritical answer like "lulz no donloding teh muzik is k". I respect that. I'll have you know, I just finished downloading "The Third Man" and "Seven Samurai". I'm not gonna try to justify my piracy, that would be stupid. I could lie and say "I can't afford it", which I can. I don't just wanna go search for a movie I won't find, or buy a game I might not like.

I'm honestly wondering why it takes SO long to port the titles to our favorite PCs. I mean, sure I understand there is still heaps of work to do, but honestly, GTA IV was developed using PCs, rigth?? I guess you cant program the engine using that SIXASIS whatever controller, and texture editing would be a bitch wink.gif But seriously I think there is a LEGAL reason to the delay. Some contract between the rockstar or the publisher AND Sony (and now Microsoft as well)... developers need to pay rent as well, you know, so you can understand them.

 

But I'm still in doubts - if they actually have BOTH Xbox and Playstation versions NOW... why not for PC? I mean the consoles are very very different and the game had to be ported anyway.

 

Will wait anyway.

 

PS: I dont have a game console and am not planning to get one. I always thought that mouse and keyboard are choice for any game (well except fightings probably)

BUT you have to admire the concept of a game console. You practically NEVER have to upgrade it, you ALWAYS get to run the game on the highest settings and you actually play it as it was intended. Every console is THE SAME with minor differences in HDD etc. I guess if all PCs were equally superpowerful and productive, there would be no bugs in games or programs at all.

sux but i think i know why sony made this contract with R*, few ppl buy xbox or ps to play games like old times on the TV, grow up R* we passed 80-90's when we played Ninja Turtles with our friends on TV... correct me if i'm wrong but sony company is in heaven now, the sales on ps/xbox are higher then ever...

 

still hate them, i'll never buy a xbox or ps3 to play this game, even if it won't release on pc ever sneaky2.gif

I've seen their consoles; had them open, performed repairs on them. I must say: they make some seriously cheap, easy-to-break, proprietary camel sh*t. They used this camel sh*t, and the money they got selling it, to destroy the GTA series and Rockstar's reputation.

Well, concerning the console regime, it's the lowest common denominator syndrom at work.

How can we produce a product that's noticably better than the former generation while fullfilling:

- Keeping costs at a reasonable level, i.e finding the components that will suffice concerning both performance and low costs

- Finding producers that are able to deliver enough of the components. At launch, you don't want to outsell and leave customers waiting for ages.

 

We all know that when considering PC building, the options are a true neverending story. You can choose from so many types of motherboards, graphic cards, CPUs and so on. When designing a new console, the outcome is carved in stone so to speak, and the components have to work together with as little fuzz as possible. The occasional "deluxe" edition is of course possible, but then again a larger harddisk is barely anything to call "deluxe".

Well, when I was in Mediamarkt, I saw a 360+GTA4 pack for 200€.

 

I was like:

Hey, it's almost the price of the graphic card that I want to buy.  wow.gif  I wouldn't spend 500€for a game but 200€... I'll have to wait at least for 6 months to get the game on pc and here... Even if the joypad sucks, that still would be...  inlove.gif

 

WTF! WHAT THE HELL AM I THINKING ABOUT?  nervous.gif

I'll never do what R* wants me to do! I will stay true to my beleifs and to my pc! I swear it!

Seriously, I think I'll step away from GTA4 for a while.

When it'll be on pc, I'll make a real discovery because I would stay away from the spoilers and I won't have the hateness of the wait.
