GTA IV for PC

Usually the PC release takes about a year to get ported. Chances are in Apr/May 2009. It sucks, but it's beyond our control. The PC is powerful enough to run GTA IV, so why isn't it considered one of the main GTA IV platforms?

Two possible reasons:

 

1. Rockstar knows people will buy the console versions, and then rebuy the PC version for the extra features (mods, better graphics, ect).

 

2. It's part of a deal with Microsoft and Sony to increase their console sales.

Not a year, 7 months. So around christmas season this year is expected.

the past GTA games have been a 6 month wait or so, so I say by xmas we should have God in our DVD drives I mean, just look at the IGN review and the leaked gameplay footage...simply incredible! Hope the port doesn't take long. You can even watch TV in your apartment, how cool is that? The multiplayer looks hilarious as well...saw a video in the review of about 10 guys jumping another player's SUV with baseball bats and bricks lol

Hopefully, their doing what Bioware did with Mass Effect. Like when the 360 version of Mass Effect was released they were already working on the PC version plus all the goodies like better gfx, let's hope R* is doing the same.

Thanks for posting that. One of those screens is new to me, and does a good job in highlighting how wrong the console fanboys are...

Vice City PC was announced Dec 2002 for May 15 2003 release.

 

San Andreas PC was announced Dec 16 2004 for the June 07 2005 release.

 

So i guess it'd be wise to expect it in 6 months or so.

That's been proven wrong many times in the past, don't post things of which you don't know the truth. And whether or not we're buying a console is our own business and freedom and you shouldn't judge over it. This entire thread is dedicated to post theories with arguments and proof over a PC version and the only thing you're trying to do is causing flamewars. Please do that elsewhere.

 

That newsarticle with those quotes made me less optimistic although I know it's fake, it just doesn't feels good but luckily we still have enough evidence to make the assumption that a PC version will come, at least I hope so.

If I was able to buy a graphics card each month and a motherboard, I would've bought a console for GTA IV. But since that's not the case, I wont be getting it.
