GTA IV for PC

Cmon Guys!! Go out and buy an Xbox 360 or PS3!!

Did you just signed in to tell us this? Don't you think if we want to play the game on a console we wouldn't without your advice? If you would have read some posts at this thread you would know, we don't want to burn our money to play a game worse than it could be. Think about why we're waiting although we want it to play as much as any other GTA fan. So judging from your post to me it seems you have to be one of the console kiddies or a stupid moron... pick whatever fits you best.

Try think a little further than ur hand!! Im not saying buy a console just to play GTA 4, there are many wicked games for xbox 360/ wii/ ps3 and im not neccesarily saying " go out and buy everyone". I have a beast of a pc as do my mates, we have lan eve's etc, all im saying is u cnt just stick to one platform, there is much fun to be had from pc gaming and console gaming. Im not knocking either one.

Most of those games are also on PC, and Pc has its own exclusives, it is not worth buying a consoles. Name anymore then 2 Great exclusives we miss out on with PC? The 360 has what? Halo, WOW, most overrated average game ever, other then that, what does it have that makes it worthwhile for a PC gamer to buy one? I am waiting.

 

look at 2007, the best year in years, Pc Had the best lienup, it had all 360 games, plus Crysis, Stalker, The wicher, etc....

The consoles do have some pretty good exclusives. A great example is Dead Rising.

If that is what you call great, I rest my case. Average filler games, especially comapred to The Witcher, NWN2, Crysis, Stalker, Sins of a Solar empire, etc......

I know, those console exclusive games aren't awesome than all the PC games like the ones you mentioned but still, they're pretty good and I would really want to play them.

Don't get me wrong, I enjot consoles for what they are, but this myth about Pc not having good games, etc.. is BS. The lineup in 07 ws the best out of all platforms. I enjoy consoles for more simpler fun, and for a few sports game against buddies. Nothing wrong with that, but PC should not and is not second fiddle to anything. PC's just seem more intricate, deeper gaming experiences.

It's not the wait that irritates me, but the way they handle the situation.

Of course I see it. That still doesn't mean they aren't completely jerking me and the rest of the hungry PC community around. Delayed release 6months to a year for a simple port, especially when they have a fully functioning variant on the 360 which is Microsoft for sh*ts sake... cmon

Well, the "source" that GTA IV wont be released on PC is a joke. When I e-mailed R* they said this:

Yep Pc is the lead platoform, as it is for valve and others, there are some sensible devs out there. Doesn't it make sense to make for the most powerful platform first then port it to the more limited consoles? I guess not if money is more important then integrity. Valve, Crytek, GSC Gameworld, etc.... all prove a game designed with Pc as lead platform can still be very profitable.

Well, in fariness, the console versions sucked in comparison, just read some of the reviews. Console gamers do not know a good game if it hit them in the critch though.

I'm going to say that it's a fake, and here's why.

That is one of the most crappiest games web site i have seen, i could make a better one a 5 minutes and i believe it's a shameless attempt to get more traffic.

 

There are no quotation marks either because it's not a quote of Rockstar or bad grammar, which ruins it's credibility

How did they get that info, they didn't say, was it a Q&A session did they E-mail Rockstar. No Rockstar would never do a Q&A session with a lame website like that, and every E-mail response we have had so far never said that.

 

Also in the Lazlow Interview he did mention about a PC version, not much but he did which contradicts the quote as it states "we currently have no plans to develop for the PC"

 

They also state the PC versions came out 12 months+, well that's false.

Now the last 3 GTA games were ported from the PS2, which is much harder than porting from the X360 as it's basically a mid range PC running on the DX9 framework, so all those that say it's too difficult and too complicated to port it's not.

 

Also those People who say the the Rage engine doesn't work on the PC, well what do you think they built and tested on, it was not on the consoles. All the assets for the game were done on a PC not a console.

 

To the Console kiddies that believe PC games don't sell and console always sell more, well the Orange Box sold more on the PC than the 360 and PS3 combined by a significant amount. so where's that supposed widespread piracy.

 

To all those that believe Rockstar won't release it on the PC in fear of Modifications, well they can always lock the game and make it extremely difficult to mod for it.

 

So in all unless we hear this from a Credible website or Rockstar i wouldn't believe it.

 

 

And finally i'd like to bring up Mass effect for a long time the Devs said it won't come on the PC. And that they had no plans to and that "not a single line of code has not been written for the PC version". Then what happen they announce a PC version and reveal it had been in production before they completed the 360 version.

As little of a thing as it sounds, I loved how in Mafia you had to raise your gun up before firing a shot. It made finishing off people who were dragging themselves across the pavement that much more satisfying. Its the little touches that really make a game.

I just hope the inteactionwith the world will be maxed-out on PC,like in Mafia II.

There we'll be able to pick up things and do something with it,interiors are gonna be fully interactive as well.

And cars there are not just deformable,but also scratchable-every contact with hard surface can scratch the pait!

 

I think GTA IV's PC version can't get much close to the visuals of Mafia II.

 

I got extremely bored of Mafia I when i finished the story(especially the extreme ride was pain in ass to play,damn serching for the hidden morherfkin cars-boring),hope not to happen with II.

Usually the PC release takes about a year to get ported. Chances are in Apr/May 2009. It sucks, but it's beyond our control. The PC is powerful enough to run GTA IV, so why isn't it considered one of the main GTA IV platforms?
