GTA IV for PC

I know a dual core processer would be best for GTA4 If it comes out for PC, but would a Quad Core be better?

Technically GTA 4 would not need a quadcore, I would even say if it was optimised properly it wouldn't even need a dual core processor, but this is Rockstar we are talking about and they don't have the most sterling of history's when it comes to ports.

 

So I would say to be on the safe side you would need at least a 2 core processor but a 4 core processor will be a bit of a waste, I cannot see Rockstar putting the effort in to take advantage of quadcores.

 

Now as for all this google bombing, I really do not see the point, nothing is going to force Rockstar to produce the game for the PC. If you really want to send a message then go and buy the GTA series on Steam, that way Rockstar might see it is worth bringing the game to the PC platform. I have always found you get more with a carrott than a stick.

 

Oh and as for the guy that proudly declared they will be downloading it, you are an arsehole and one of the reasons why the PC gaming format is struggling. You shouldn't be proud to be a thief infact you should be ashamed to be such scum, but I know there is no talking to people like you.

What incorrect did you find in my text? So i sayd "millions", so what? It is expensive, when you look the timescale how long you can play with the parts before you have to buy new ones. I own a computer, and i know how much you have to update it just to get the new games working on it. Plus you have to wait for the PC version. Dont cry like a baby.

Let's see: Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66GHz, GF 9600GT ( it's certanly more powerful than RSX), X-Fi Sound Card, 500GB HDD, 2GB RAM, Good block, mouse and keyboard, Lightscribe DVD-RW, 21" 1680x1050 2ms LCD in my country : 2400LTL (about 1100$) (is able to run many PS2 games by the way)

 

 

Playstation 3 40GB - 2400 LTL (can't any run PS2 thou)

 

 

 

Which is cheaper? Which is more functional?

You know what the comical thing is, it's the PC that is keeping the Xbox 360 alive. It's unbelievable when you think about it, the 50 million MS loaned to Rockstar, guess where MS got it ???? yep the PC. If the two consoles had to stand on their own feet like the PC they wouldn't last 6 months, they only survive because MS and Sony have to poor billions in propping them up.

I'm too lazy to actually drive out and buy a game I might not like. If it turns out to be great, jiminy f*cking jillickers, I'll buy it. If I find it mediocre, like CoD4 (too short storyline, MP was so-so) then I leave it to rot. Does this justify that I have "stolen" a few thousand dollars from the big folks? No, but I'm happy with myself.

I know any people who are thinking building up a PC by themself would be a huge issue and almost impossible without any engineering abilities... but that's wrong and I know it from my own experience and this from other people I talked to. If you can play with LEGO you will be able do build your own PC. Of course it costs a little more time than just to buy a console, but you can do a lot more with. So maybe I'm from the mars too, but this is not only the reason due to it's worth the time, this is also the argument for being cheaper. Comparing costs is not only comparing figures. You have to take a look at what you get for your money. With a console I would spend some hundred bugs just for one game (because I don't play a lot and GTA IV is the only one I'm really interested in... for PC), with my PC I have an advice to do a lot more things I want and have to do and besides it gives me the ability to play games. So, yeah, maybe I'm and others who are thinking the same way, are from mars, but this would prove there is more intelligent life out there than on earth (where the console fanboys are living).

Well the reason I ask. because I hate vista, because the main reason on mine. It lags. Yes I have 2gb ddr2 ram, with a Quad Core, and a 8800 GT, With a SATA 7200 RPM 500GB, And it ran like junk. This is the reason I will not install Vista.

The irony is people bragging about piracy in a thread crying over the lack of a pc version. The real comedy is some haven't even put 2 and 2 together before they make comments about ripping off the game

 

You whine that these developers owe you something, I'd suggest some people probably owe them quite alot in lost revenue from all the stuff they've downloaded. Spare me the 'I buy all my games' spiel, piracy is rife in pc gaming and pc gamers are only now feeling the repercussions.

Just to speak in my own opinion of common sense.

 

Remember GTA: San Andreas. It first came out on PS2, and later a few months it came to PC! That's because if a game was good and a commercial success. It would be in high demand. And thats why It came to PC.

 

My guess is that GTA 4 will come to PC because of high demand. R* does know that theres lots of people who beg for a PC version. I think playing GTA 4 would be much funner to play on PC and might be better to play rather than the console version.

Actually, I never said cheaper. But then I assumed you could understand structured sentences. I just pointed the fact that a lot of people, including you, seem to neglect the cost of actually buying a PS3. Reading some of the posts by some PS3 owners they seem to think you only need to take a rusty spoon and some left over change to your local game retailer to purchase one while you have to re-mortgage the house and sell major organs to buy a high spec PC. But then most have had their PS3 purchased by ma and pa.

 

I'm very sure my PC, which cost me £500 a year ago, will easily run GTA4 as it can run Crysis at a decent res, while also offering me many other benefits. But, to think, if I held out a year I could have bought a PS3 and saved myself a whooping £70!! Which would become redundant once I've finished with GTA4.

Guesswork based on retail outlet dates. Rockstar didn't confirm or deny because frankly they couldn't care less what some random French shop speculates in.
