bengarney
Hey guys, Â I'm trying to dump ALL the TXDs in San Andreas out into TGA format. Is there any way to do that? I've been using G-TXD, combining a bunch of TXDs using merge, and spitting that out, but it's a big pain in the butt and it tends to break with high TXD counts. Â It seems like, for someone who had the code already, spitting out a simple commandline "TXD -> TGAs" converter that would spit out the textures in a single TXD would be quick, and it'd save a LOT of time for people like me... I could just write a quick batchfile and be done. Â Thanks in advance! Â Â
bengarney
Â Sure wish I could have textures on this. Â Can anyone help?
DexX
You may have to keep your method going. I imported liberty city to 3dsmax awhile ago, and had to do the same thing. As far as i know, there's isn't an automated way to do it.
bengarney
Lame. Well, I may break down and write a command line tool to merge TXDs. Or I might suck it up and click through it. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for the info!
REspawn
Had some time last night while rendering some stuff so made a comand line tool in c++ that takes a txd archive and an extract folder as paramters and dumps all the textures as tga images. looks a little something like this... Â Â Should help you out a bit, readme included with instructions and all the usual who ha ha. Download TXDtoTGA (28kb)) Â Enjoy, -Dave
GT-1
Nice work REspawn, simple but effective. You should post it in the Tools forum, I'm sure a few more would find a use for it. New site quote... Good to see the site back up again.

REspawn
Who dosent like ponies? Â DexX was asking about a batch converter, so im gonna make a new version in a while which allows you to input two folders, the first is scanned and all txd files in it are exported to the second folder. Will post the info here when its done. Â TXDtoTGA Tools forum topic
bengarney
And - are you sure you're cleaning up D3D properly? My first export worked fantastically; subsequent tries fail. Rebooting to see if that fixes things.
