Some clarity on Yahoo! Content

UPDATE: Yahoo! Games posted another article (accessible from the previews page, but has yet to show up on the game's page.)

http://videogames.yahoo.com/xbox360/grand-.../preview-520436

In it they claim that they'll post an interview with Dan Houser tomorrow, June 27th.

Original Post: Lately I've been seeing quite a number of posts here on GTAForums suggesting that Yahoo! won't actually have any new GTA IV content at all, and for some reason they lied on their part about the coverage from them. Normally I would pass on things such as this, but there seems to be still a signifant number of misinformed people on here, causing many Yahoo-related topics to ensue every now and then...

So, here is everything I/we at GTAnet know...

1. Yahoo! Games announced last week that they are the exclusive partner of Rockstar Games launching the trailer "exclusively" on June 28th.

2. In addition to Yahoo! launching this trailer, Rockstar Games will also be launching the trailer on their website at 12PM EDT.

3. On Monday Rockstar's Online Associate Producer told me this...

Yahoo will be our exclusive partner for

the initial debut of trailer #2 (The trailer will also be available at

www.rockstargames.com/IV as well).  Yahoo will also be receiving

exclusive Grand Theft Auto IV content as well, although I do not have

any details at this time as to what that content is.

So as you can see, we have it from both sides that Yahoo! will in fact have EXCLUSIVE GTA IV content at some point, between now and June 28th.

4. Yahoo! stated in their press release that their coverage starts on June 22nd, when I contacted R* on this they said that it in fact starts on Monday June 25th.

5. Both Rockstar and Yahoo! (I contacted the person provided with the Y! press release) has yet to tell me when the GTA IV content will in fact debut from Yahoo's side.

So that is everything we know, before anyone starts to jump to any conclusions, just read this post first.

well, in a way we have been screwed over. Yahoo said they would provide coverage from yesterday (25th), but what was posted as a "preview" had been actually posted on the site since Friday. so, everything has been quite confusing.

Yes, well I believe as it's stated on the grandtheftauto.yahoo.com website, part of their coverage include non-GTA IV related content. Naturally, R* didn't want to tell me when the GTA IV content will start, only that the "coverage" from Yahoo's side will start Monday June 25th.

So, just to clear up matters, as we're still near the beginning of this topic:

1. Are there any official sources that state that these updates will be daily?

2. What time did yesterdays information appear (assuming it hadn't been up and unchanged since the 22nd)?

In response to number 2.

How long until we are at that time which it was "reposted" yesterday?

hehe

In hours from now.

When will it be the same time as yesterday when they put up "reposted" the bloody lookback.

As in, when can we logically expect the update today compared to yesterday.

Before anyone gets mad, this is technically still exclusive info. We didn't know it before they told us.

Edit: New or previously unconfirmed info:

"each step will be reflected in a slight controller vibration"

"The sound design is also more immersive, with ambient sounds realistically presented as if they were actually bouncing off buildings and traveling from varying distances."

"And while the game's HUD is largely gone, you'll see armor and bulletproof vests actually worn by Niko, and you'll watch them deteriorate when shot during combat. In a similar manner, damage and gore will be represented to a far greater visual degree than before; expect some of the game's more extreme violence to be far more disturbing than ever."

Has the Turkish OXM infiltrated Yahoo?

And while the game's HUD is largely gone, you'll see armor and bulletproof vests actually worn by Niko, and you'll watch them deteriorate when shot during combat.

Either way, thanks for the heads up.

The setting, of course, is Liberty City. While the game won't be as geographically massive as San Andreas

didnt one of the previews confirm that it is about the same size if not bigger than san andreas

Maybe because the poster felt the majority has been acting like jackasses for the last few hours? Yahoo delivered, regardless if they gave you what you wanted. Did they not? I rest my case.
