ninjahaxd
SAAC crashes it, and the ingame joypad settings are retarded. Tried pinnacle game profiler but that didnt do anything. Dont tell me theres no way to play this enjoyably with a gamepad....
Demarest
It's silly to be able to play it on a PC and use a controller, but I doubt anybody would try to say you can't play it with a controller. Â You say SAAC like we're supposed to know what you're talking about. I don't know what it is, but I know this is the forum for SAN ANDREAS. ninjahaxd
If you dont know what SAAC is you are in position to be able to help me because that means youre not familiar at all with my issue. Â Â Why exactly is it silly to want to play san andreas with a controller on the PC? Oh, Im sorry, you must be an elitist.
jnzooger
I have played all the PC GTAs using PS2 control settings. I never touched SAAC because the controller I use doesn't need it. Â If you are in USA and have $20, pick up a Logitech Dual-Action controller. Run the install disc. Then go to http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtop...dpost&p=4220103 and follow my instuctions. These settings also work great for GTAIII and VC is you change radio to Joy5 and in the profile, unmap the d-pad. Â If you prefer the XBOX layout, ask and I'll wip one up. Oh, Im sorry, you must be an elitist. 1) You're right: If you don't give us any information, we won't be able to help you.  The elitist comment is funny since you're behaving as if knowledge of SAAC puts you in some secret circle. I could list the many many ways keyboard and mouse tower over controller, but the attitude says closed mind, so I won't waste my time.
ninjahaxd
1) jnzooger has already helped me. Thread over. Â I did not come here to debate keyboard vs. gamepad and whatever you have to say on this is of no interest to me and has nothing to do with my original post. Some games I play with keyboard and mouse, others with a gamepad. Personal preference. Â SAAC is the sole gamepad control mod for San Andreas, if you do not know of its existence you are in no place to help with a gamepad related issue. You seem to think that I did not provide information. The correct phrasing would be I did not provide information to those who are in no position to help me in the first place. Â The knowledge of SAAC puts me in the secret circle of the people who play with a gamepad, and with elitist preachers like you around I thank god for it. Â Try to think of it this way - keyboard and mouse are better in most aspects, while gamepad is better in others. I do not wish to hear the towers of facts in how keyboard is better, and your inclination towards listing them should be proof of your own hypocrisy. jnzooger
I'd be willing to bet Dem knows what SAAC is. He is one of the great modders on this site. He does have this massive hang-up with Keyboard+Mouse and control names though. I myself cannot stand mouse steering, so Key+Mouse does not work for me when in a vehicle. (I need analogue steering and the mouse doesn't cut it.) With gunplay, I like both forms. Any mission that can't lock on with the weapons (ie: ridding on the back of a bike), I switch over to mouse aim. Lock on is a godsend sometimes though. Â In previous GTAs (III and VC), I have played though 100% in both forms ("Classic" and "Standard") with no cheats. In SA, I did the storyline fully with Key+Mouse (and cheats gallore) and 100% with Joypad+Key+Mouse (without cheats).
