saltinespike
"Chris Benoit apparently missed the PPV due to a family emergency and had to fly back home to Georgia. He also missed a house show, but WWE was still holding out hope that Benoit would work on the PPV show." That is not from WWE, but another source (dunno which one, a friend told me). There is something not right with this...

TonyZimmzy
Unbelievlble. I'm shaking right now and my head feels light. I'm such an avid Wrestling fan to anyone who goes to sports section in here knows that. I see it here and head over to nodq i was trying not to go there cos I havent watched Vengeance yet and I would of been spoiled. And to see it's Chris Benoit is just absolutly shocking, what with being Eddie's best friend aswell. I'm just lost for words, completly. Rest in Peace man, and your entire family aswell, worst news for a long time for me.

Ronmar The Only
Who knows, could have been something within the family or a disgruntled person. Hopefully it wasn't just some freak or some one went crazed. Pretty sad. Hurricane5
In situations like this, my main guess is always carbon monoxide poisoning. Still, who know until we hear the final word. What we do know is, we've lost a damn great wrestler, and his entire family.
gta phil gta
Oh. My. God. That's, my god ... that's so f*cking tragic. I can't belive it, I'm at a loss for words. Chris Benoit kicked ass, too. Wow. RIP.
RunningMan
There was this asshole on the Sports forum on IMDB that was laughing at all this. He said "Get back to me when you have something about an important sport," or something. I wanted to kill him. Wrestling will never get the repsect it deserves. He said "Get back to me when you have something about an important sport," or something. I wanted to kill him. Wrestling will never get the repsect it deserves. Honestly wrestling will never get respect. Only because the Boss takes and fakes his death, they act like its a big deal and then real wrestlers like Sensational Sherri and Chris Beniot dies. They should of honored Sensational Sherri last week instead of adding to Vince's fake death. Enough thread jacking. It is odd that him and his whole family was found dead. I cant belive it. Ive watched wrestling ever since I can remember, and he's one of those guys you can name from the top of your head. He will be missed in the wrestling fan base. Craig Kostelecky
Damn. I was a big wrestling fan in the late 90s and early 2000s and Chris Benoit was my absolute favorite. I loved watching WCW when he was running with the Horsemen and wrestling against guys like Bret Hart, Booker T, Fit Finlay, and Kevin Sullivan. He was the most intense and most believable wrestler I ever saw. When he became WCW US Champion, I decided to buy a replica belt for around $300 at the time. Since WCW folded, I really stopped watching wrestling. I just couldn't stand what the sport had become. There simply wasn't enough guys like Benoit around to make me want to watch. Now there's nobody that I want to see anymore. This is tragic, especially since it's his wife (Woman from WCW) and son also died. I think he had two other kids, but they were not in the Atlanta home during that time. And who knows what happened that caused them all to die at the same time. Hurricane5's guess of CO poisoning makes the most sense. Either that or there was a suicide/murder scenario. Either way, it's a damn shame. They had too many more good years to live. And like others have said, this makes that Vince McMahon angle seem that much worse. He better appear on camera tonight and say that his "death" is a joke and should not have been done. Not when real people are dying at the same time. Because every second that they pretend that he's dead is an insult to the families that have really felt the loss. TonyZimmzy
Weird seeing the entire arena empty on RAW. I guess we won't be seeing tribute matches tonight like on Eddie and Owen's show.
Kippers
Damn that's really shocking. I used to follow Wrestling like 8 years back and i remember him quite vividly. the whole family as well Jesus christ! That's really bad. why? Damn...wtf? Hurricane5
They had wrestling on Owen's show. All the wrestlers wore and O.H. arm band. A lot gave speeches/dedicated their matches to him. Anyway, I always was a fan of the guys from up North, Canadian trained wrestlers. Dean Malenko, Bret and Owen and Davey Boy Smith, Curt Henning, Chris Benoit. Chris always seemed like the shining star that was never allowed to soar like he could. He was a very talented, tactical wrestler. I had the privilege of seeing him wrestle some number of times back in the day. I'm going to miss him.
saltinespike
They canceled RAW tonight, replacing it with a 3 hour tribute, and Vince has dropped the "I'm dead" storyline. He has done good in my book.

steakncheese
Seems a bit suss, my guess would be murder-suicide. Especially since the apparent "family crisis". Edited June 26, 2007 by steakncheese
