TheJonesy, I absolutely love the derived name for the protagonist, and I'll be looking forward to your currently untitled fic! colgate.gif

That's wicked, discovery97, I'll try and keep an eye out for that one! cool.gif

It's hard to follow fanfics for me 'cause for some reason I can't get into 'em anymore.

I was thinking up the story, but needed a protag. So I said 'hey!'. Unfortunately, I might change it to Joseph or something, cause his name is too close to jack-hole, which is a variation of 'asshole.' It just distracts me.

With the story, I'll write it all I can in a notebook. Though, I'll have to type the whole freakin thing later on. But I'll work on it at school, cause that's when I'm in my Red Zone, and that's where I think a little more clearer and better.

I'm pretty stoked on it, cause it, in my opinion, will be a little more, lets say, interesting then the one I'm working on now which has been minorly updated, but not commented on *nudge nudge

I have a couple of ideas that I'm not going to use, they're up for anyone who wants to use them.

The first one was an idea for a play I never followed through with. It is heavily heavily influenced by three different movies that are very different from each other, Ali: Fear Eats the Soul, Being There, and Blue Velvet. Here's an outline I wrote in notepad awhile back, even the outline isn't finished, you'll have to make an ending:

older woman. overwight. eccentric. she has almost no contact with the outside world. she's 62. a man brings her groceries and money and picks up her bills every week. this man is very mysterious, we never know who he is, his connection to her, or why he's doing this for her. he's rude to her, when she makes a reference to him being her husband, which she is apparently under that notion, he acts with hostility. she is severely handicapped... socially, mentally... she does nothing but listens to the radio, this is where we find out she learns how to interact with people. at a certain point a man bangs on her door for help. he says he's been hurt, he says his heart hurts, he says his heart is broken. she takes him in and tends to him the best she can. he is black, an immigrant, a hard worker, 20 years younger than her. they get along well, she talks a lot and he doesn't, he listens, he doesn't care that she's loopey and we don't even know if he's keen enough to notice it. he stays the night and the next morning she makes him coffee and breakfast. he offers her money and she tells him to put it with the rest of the money in the chest. we then find out that all the money she receives from that mystery man goes into that chest, all of it. he doesn't react to the huge sum of money. possibly he lives down hall with many workers and they go there and she sticks up for him and they fall in love.

Here's another one I never worked on...

hollogram

propgaganda/

friends with benefits

late teens (one corrupted the other of drugs, sex, being liberal.. despite the other's traditional conservative upbringing)

hollogram propaganda effects on relationship

america is imposing on other countries more severely than ever. it's starting to happen to its own people. its gotten to the point that the backlash against the government from its own people in disgust with america's more recent actions has gotten so bad that the government has gone over the top and now a hollogram appears at random times in anyones home or apartment as the president addressing everyone with his broad propaganda. the story is the evolution of a relationship during all this. the male reacts to the propaganda and starts to waiver while his lover wonders how he can be so weakminded and blind. it's a human drama.

Another one, idea I had for movie. Kinda hard to picture how I see it if you're not in my head... good luck.

characters: senile, confused, and meandering old man, a grandfather; self-involved mother and wife entangled in often indiscreet infidelities; a son emmersed in teenage drug culture gets in a bad situation; husband and father experiencing severe difficulty at new position at job.

the grandfather perhaps switches meds to one that obviously doesn't agree with him. he meets an old friend in a cafe for brunch when his disorient and immense paranoia kicks in. everything is sort of gray and breathing (ala hallucinagenics) and he perceives normal everyday events as hostile. after getting the cops called he wanders in a beffuddled state, looking for home. instead he finds an artist painting in a big window-walled room overlooking the ocean. this man himself is sort of crazy, in that crazy genius way and speaks a lot of philosophical mumbojumbo offering little actual help. the painter is eccentric and out there and does weird out there eccentric things to the old man like paint on him and the old man is too out there himself to reject the man as weird and joins in on the weirdness himself in a confused state.

the husband/father character is strictly white collar. at work he is the go-to-guy, and speaks with confidence. at home he is mute, disconnected, indifferent (or so it seems). the day at work is going fine until an error is made at the fault of the character. this would be a very hectic, exhausting, and high-speed scene. Lots of fast panning and the like.

the son is apathetic, aside from partying  and the things that interest him. he experiments heavily with drugs, but I wouldn't say he was a severe addict. he shows up at a friend's house with five other uninvited guests and a lot of alcohol and the situation goes awry. one of his friends in unconscious, vomitting, sh*tting, convulsing, in the tub... for hours. The son is too plastered however to deal with the situation and becomes a victim himself.

the wife is middleclass boredom. while her husband works she engages in a string of infidelities. it catches up with her when she becomes pregnant.

interweaving... sort of begins and ends at the dining room during breakfast and dinner... at end grandfather missing, no one notices--awkwardness.

Anyway, I don't expect really anyone to use those... but it'd be cool if you did because I hate them to go to waste. Any questions, PM me.

Been working on a little idea recently.

A writer, who has just recovered from a long case (3-4 years) of writer's block, starts a new book. The weird thing, however, is that everything that happens to the character happens to him. He starts writing about the character winning the lottery, finding beautiful women, and everything else men always dream of having. Of course, about half-way through the book, he himself becomes the character completely. He is no longer the writer, and the consequences of his actions are not far away.

Not sure how to end it and such. Also not sure about a title.

You guys have incredible imaginations that I could only hope to grasp.

My stuff's starting to feel repeated and old now - but I'm figuring out ways to make them feel fresher - especially AOM.

All I seem to be interested in are snuff movies and secret agents. lol.gif

Though that's not exactly a bad thing - it's easy to come up with dark/complex plots from those - which I like (probably the reason all my stuff revolves around them). I also find serial killers an interesting subject, so I'm trying to imprint that aspect into both AOM (specifically regarding Warren) and Mobile with a character called Agent Kelley. ph34r.gif

Again, more of a drabble than an idea, but still. tounge2.gif

Thanks, I've already started chapter one. Still can't think of a title though.

Any suggestions?

Why not something simple, for example "Author"? It sort of gives you an idea about the story without giving too much of the plot away.

I'm sure someone will think of a better title than that, but it's a suggestion.

I had this idea for a story. Basically, Santa Claus gets taken out by the US Government because he's a tyrannical dictator who uses slave labour. So, they "liberate" the North Pole but the elf's are actually a bunch of uneducated, inbred racists and it emerges that they don't really want to be free. Causing a load of problems for everyone involved. Meanwhile, Saint Nick gets charged with crimes against humanity and hilarity ensues!

Sorry guys, but you won't be seeing that story on here soon. Since I'm too lazy to re-type what I said in the OGA, I'll just go ahead and paste it here.

...And off topic from the holidays, but for my Boy Scouts (laugh it up, I don't really care) Eagle project I'm going to interview many different WWII veterans, and - this might sound a bit immature, but - write a book about them. I'll include the interviews, their stories, etcetera. I've already talked with a local publisher, and he said he's going to consider it. He definitely wants to see the final product...

Going to work on it in my spare time, however.

Just had an idea.

While browsing, I had noticed one of crazyanurag's posts, and noticed his little phrase he puts at the end of all his posts, "you'll never walk alone." This got me thinking about an idea for a story.

A boy, who's mother dies while he is the young age of seven, is guided along in life by his mother's unresting spirit. Obviously, no one believes him. He is picked on at school horribly for trying to suggest that such a thing is even possible. However, the townfolk start to wonder when horrible things begin to happen to the kids making fun of him. The adults start to join in on the teasing, sealing their fate along with the bullies. Could it be true? Is this the work of his mother's spirit, or is his mind merely twisted by the traumatizing car crash that took his mother so long ago?

Seems a bit too much like Carrie and Manhunt 2, but meh. The title would obviously be something similar to "You'll Never Walk Alone".

GycuBrun - The best way to fake your own death is to have somebody else's body (dead or alive at the time) burned. X - I'm assuming will be well connected given the type of people who want him dead - would have to switch the info on his dental records with that of the stand-in's.

Or - if you wanted to set someone up for your alleged murder - use a syringe (I'm not very good with mg's etc. but a large one) and draw out a good amount of your own blood and squirt it in whatever place you choose as the 'crime scene' - this'll make it appear as though a murder had occured - then 'clean' it up roughly, so traces of it will still be evident but making it appear as though someone's tried to get rid of it all under a short and panicked timeframe. You might have to get a swab of the person you're setting up's DNA, like a hair, sweat, saliva etc. and (using latex gloves) place the incriminating item somewhere obvious enough for forensic analysts to find but not strikingly obvious. Once the fall guy's arrested, the police will figure out their own interpretation as to what happened even if the person claims their innocence. If there's evidence (fabricated or not) the guy's as good as done.

Hope this helps.

Since the topic got locked, I'll post it in here ...

I'll keep it simple, I have a story on my mind about something that fascinated me after reading few articles about the novel The Count Of Monte Cristo and watching the soap opera inspired by it.

In a few lines this story is about a mobster that has his reasons and wants this guy ( I'll name him X, he is actually the main character ) dead so he hires some killers but X doesn't die, everyone thinks he is dead ( even the evil mobster) but he is kept in a cell somewhere far away for let's say 10 years ... he escapes and wants his revenge

I've had some ideas ( eg. X is sent to prison -they frame him for murder- and after that the mobster pays some inmates to kill him but they fail and there is a fire that burns the prison and after that I dunno )

So how to make everybody think X is dead and lock him for 10 years, how do you fake someones death?

I need some ideas with as many details as posible, but here are the conditions

• semi-realistic ideas ( like in the movies ) no aliens, vampires and other bs

• everyone must think X is dead ( his family, his enemies, his friends but most important his enemies )

• somehow the ones that keep locked in the cell to not know who X is

• after 9 years they will test on him some illegal stuff making him ... can't tell you sorry ...

Thanks guys for closin' the topic and redirecting me to the right place ... icon14.gif

Now, thanks Oxdizer, I liked the idea cookie.gif , but my point is that X does not want to fake his own death, the mobster wants to kill him but he escapes only that he is locked for 10 years and the most important, everybody including his enemies think he is dead ...

I've got a short story that'll be finished and posted in the next couple of weeks, but I'd like to know if anyone would read it first. After all, you should always write for yourself, but I won't post it if nobody's interested.

It's called The Man In Black, and it details an encounter with the title character by a teenager in 1950s America- I haven't decided exactly where yet. Basically, this "Man in Black" is some sort of demon or devil who has made it his mission to kill and eat the kid.

Here's the beginning of it, just to give you an idea of the writing style, etc.

It’s been over fifty years since I saw the Man in Black. I still don’t know how or why he appeared before me that evening, and to be honest, I don’t care. All I know is I never want to see him again.

It was the Christmas Eve of 1957. I was fifteen at the time, and my life was going great. My grades were all up to scratch, my parents were making money, I had a girl, hell, and even my kid brother Joe liked me. I was walking down the riverbank, humming to myself, when I first heard the hissing sound coming from somewhere under the bridge in front of me. At first I just ignored it and started to walk again, but something, a little voice in my head, told me to go see what it was. I was already late for my date with Alison at the bowling alley, but it wouldn’t take that long, surely.

I made my way down the slippery mud. It was still wet, even in all this frost that had covered the ground since school had broken off for Christmas a couple of days before. The hissing continued; seeming to me to be increasing in volume with every step I took. I was almost to the bridge when the hissing noise stopped abruptly and somebody… something whispered my name from the gloom.

“Johnny…”

I gasped, truly struck with terror for the first time since my very early childhood. My mind played tricks on me. It’s nothing, Johnny, only the wind. No, it’s a commie. Don’t be stupid; it’s not a red. It’s a juvenile delinquent.

“Johnny…”

I started to shake. I wanted to run, but curiosity, damn curiosity, made me bend down and squint into the darkness. A man stared back at me.

Any good? Feedback would be appreciated, and if you're desperate for more before I post it (yeah, right sigh.gif), feel free to PM me.

Once upon a time there was a town by the ocean.

As grimy a town you could ever see.

Beset by constant commotion,

They called it Ratting-by-Sea.

The founders were cruel and warlike,

Giants and witches they say,

They fought with flame and sword and savage pike

Yet no one could win the day.

And so begun our current state

Intolerable to them, to you, to me,

There's always a fresh corpse on a slate

In the town called Ratting-by-Sea.

The Mysterious One

So basically, I came up with an idea for a fanfic. It's a crossover with GTA III and Manhunt. Basically, anyone who has played both games should know that both games took place around the same time and on Lips 106, it was stated about the case with Gary Schaefer and all of the events that happened in Carcer City. Help give me ideas. One of the ideas is Cash leaving Starkweather's mansion with new clothes (That he could've stolen somewhere, maybe Lionel's clothes, or some clothing store) and stole a car, possibly the Cerberus' armored truck or something and going to Liberty City.

What would you guys think of a community writing project?

Maybe some of you followed "Finish the Story" back when it was big on these forums. It could be a similar concept to that, in which one person writes something, the next poster continues on with that, etc.

Anyways, I think it would be cool, having the whole WD together on a big writing project. We could write an original story with multiple authors.

I don't have it all planned out right now, but what do you guys think?

I'm not sure. Many of us have different writing styles. We could always give it a shot, though. I'd try to chip in, as long is it's not some run'n'gun action adventure sh*t. I tend to be more partial to the horror and mystery genre, as most of you know.

What if a person was assigned a character? Somewhat like roleplay, but in a crime story or something along those lines. If the population of ideas for stories becomes broad enough, everyone can have their own story. It would be a bit like "Crash" or "Babel". Just a thought. If you need ideas, I'm pretty good at thinking new ones up.

Wicked ideas. Or you could use one of the characters from your individual projects (complete or otherwise) - seeing as you'll already know them etc. ph34r.gif

Interesting idea, but it would be difficult to make a story in which all the characters can meet.

As for the original idea itself, I'd be up for it so long as it was original and not another GTA fanfic, as there's already something like this going on.

What do you guys think of the idea (for an independent story, written by me) of a drama, following a severely schizophrenic man?

That's basically all I have at this point, so I would need to really develop it before I start writing, but I would just like to hear opinions of the concept.

That's another idea I was considering, and I like Oxi's idea of using an original character you created in one of your stories.

If we can get a ball rolling on how this project could work, with enough people interested in joining, I can create an individual thread about it.
