hey guys, I could use some help with Family Loyalty.

 

It is something that has been previously pointed out and I really want to figure it out. When writing out my characters I am complimented for my dialogue and I feel I am good at showing someone's emotions through the conversations in my story but I want to make my characters more unique individuals with more unique and interesting personalities rather than just a name. There are a few I think I do okay with personalities like Terry and Paolo but others I want to add some personality to.

 

Could anyone offer any advice as to how to make my characters more unique and interesting individuals.

I'm thinking about how to continue SoF. Possibly a story arc about the Cambodia-Thailand standoff? Possibly where that develops into full blown war, and then Trident is called in? I'm free for any suggestions, I'm stuttering out this slightly. But I'll hopefully have another chapter soon.

Author Damien Richmond is running out of ideas, and in a city like Mason, inspiration is hard to come across. But when Damien's brother is killed from a drug overdose, Damien doesn't grieve but has a new idea. He plans to write a new book about drug abuse, but first he needs some information about the junkie's lifestyle. In order to get this information, Damien must uncover the underground drugs scene and track down the dealers and users his brother died with, but soon enough Damien becomes addicted himself to the drug that killed his brother. As his life spirals out of control, Damien must get off the drug before his commitment to the book kills him...

That sounds alright, Chunk . Sounds interesting as he's learning about drugs that can kill and ends up being addicted to the same one that made him want to write the book. If that makes sense. Still, keep it up

I've been inspired to write something about Somalian Pirates. The story would probably revolve around a young Somalian man who is forced to join one of the pirate gangs to raise funds for his family's health care. I hope to show a more sensitive side to piracy in Somali as well as covering such topics as toxic dumping and whatnot.

I also like your piracy ideas, guys. I hope you'll be developing those further as I think you could be onto a winner there. Only, make them as original as possible, pirates are somewhat of a cliché.

I was in an MSN convo with my good friend Andy and I came up with some random extracts for CtD.

 

 

When your brother dies you normally expect yourself to cry your eyes out and listen to Mad World over and over again. I'm not the kind of person to cry and I'm certainly not a fan of sh*tty cover versions. So what I'm doing is different from the normal grief process. Instead of becoming depressed, I've come up with an idea. My brother's death by skag has inspired me. My block is gone and I can write again.

 

 

Putting pen to paper is hard business, even with an idea in your head. You could scribble down random words and then sort out sentences from words like needle and dog. A writer never knew how he did this, it's just a creative thing that's stored in the back of your head, behind all the unholy fantasies and dreams of shagging that girl with the big tits at Tesco. I have the writing mechanism at  back of my head, and the dreams of shagging the big titted girl. Though now I was only interested in writing my story.

Im coming up with some names of characters for Thge Angels of death in BUYG IV, any one got any good names for an outlaw biker

Maybe call him Jacky "Ace" Knight? I dunno though man, that just sounded good for me. I dunno what you'll think of it, but if you like it, remember to give me an ego boost by mentioning I created the name.

 

 

These guys are madmen, they've basically just kicked a bloke's head in for mis-pronoucing Mikel's name. It's an easy mistake to make when you're off your head on skag, but these guys are nutters. I have to watch my back with them, one wrong step and my skull'll be all over the dirty floor of this drug den. Mikel is looking at me. He has the bloke's blood all over his face, something that doesn't exactly make me want him staring at me.

I have an idea for a new story and it is already in progress, I have decided to scrap Tortured Soul (don't give me any sh*t Sam33) in favor of something I am excited about and something the guys here at the WD should be excited about.

 

I have come up with the idea to do a Nazi Zombie narrative. It will focus around the 4 soldiers tasked with surviving the hordes of undead Nazis. It will not just take place there though it will move around and they will have different objectives and will be forced to new locations during the story.

It is a narrative version of the WaW game mode

 

So be on the lookout for Nacht Der Untoten, coming soon.

Looking forward to it, I haven't seen a piece of survival (zombie) horror for a while. Hopefully it will be good to read.

I think I should stop direct references to fictional Letum City through my other stories. (I should make some type of timeline and drawn out history of it first!)

 

 

Rodney Slugline is a crappy, pseudo screenwriter – also part-time hotdog vendor – living in northern Letum City, struggling with his rubbish life and striving to make it big by being an apprentice to a supposed big-time film director and scriptwriter and battling the usual fumbles of satirical life, getting into money troubles with local organized crime (Carribean Posses; Tongs) and fighting off junkies from stealing his unproduced screenplays. Rodney will not quit until his lifelong goal is fulfilled and his cinematic dreams turned real.

I've got a notebook full of newspaper clippings, Wikipedia articles, pictures and other information on Somalia and piracy ready for when I decide to start work on my Somali Pirate idea. This has to be the most research I've ever put into a piece of writing, which is sad really, though this is a subject I started off knowing little about though was intrigued by incredibly.

 

Now that I've got the background information, I can start working on creating the characters and story.

 

I'm also, at the same time, working on a topic for GTA NeXt: Based on 1977 Las Vegas the story will be very similar to an idea I posted a while ago called "Welcome to Fabulous Las Venturas!" if any of you remember it.

A lot of research is always a good start.

 

Since my next script is set in Manchester, and GTA has named Manchester by name in San Andreas - And that I've referenced it in SAS... I think parodying the name is a bad idea. But outer areas such as Bolton, Eccles, Moss Side and Oldham will probably be parodied.

I was thinking of doing a GTA (similar to SAS) set in the North (Liverpool etc.) but I wouldn't want to plagiarize so I don't know whether to do it as Unvirginiser is himself. Oh well. We'll see. I'm still struggling with SoF, I can't quite put pen to paper (or finger to keyboard)!

Remember that deity idea I had a while back? Well, I've compiled some ideas and put 'em in a Word doc. for future reference. It's untitled for the time being but I figured I'd keep the ideas I have for the day they're ready to be written.

 

In the meantime, all I'm gonna say is that it'll be about two twin Iraqi demigods, Amir and Emira, who can only be destroyed if they're bled to death. They're very loosely inspired by Adam & Eve and Osiris & Isis.

I'm going to post a piece that I think is very unique, but I won't ruin it. It is going to involve the afterlife, and that is all I will say. I'll keep anyone here hanging, I'm writing it write now. Then I'll try to revive SoF and hopefully continue Angel of Death.

I've been thinking a little more about my mercenaries game idea - I'm thinking of setting in in eastern Africa around the Horn of Africa (Somalia and the Indian Ocean). That way I can include the Somali Pirates I've researched so much about.

 

With a little more thought, I was thinking about setting it around an exacerbated Sri Lankan Civil War which involves the nation of Sri Lanka, Tamil Tigers, Tamil Makkal Viduthalai Pulikal, India, Somalian Pirates and a few others.

 

What does everyone think?

 

I've come up with a basic outline:

 

The Sri Lankan Government celebrated victory over the Tamil Tigers in 2009 when they managed to capture the final piece of land under their control. There celebrations where mislaid however when the Tamil Tigers began an underground guerrilla campaign that saw wide-spread loss across the country. This led to it's peak in 2011 when the Tamil's obtained a nuclear warhead and threatened to detonate it unless the Sri Lankan Government recognized Tamil as a independent state.

 

The United States, seeing Sri Lanka's inability to deal with the Tamil Tigers sent peacekeeping troops into Sri Lanka. This is where the story would take place.

 

You would obviously play as an mercenary who has been sent into the conflict to make money.
