I don't write stories so much as short rants or poetry.

Quoted for those who seem unable to take in the fact that he's not talking about writer's block with regards to stories. dozingoff.gif

Maybe we need a new one? Any ideas?

I don't know what topics to start. To be honest, the D&D is far too long winded for me. When I was first becoming 100% active around here I would love to get drawn into long debates and post gigantic essays in discussion. Now, I still love to post, but in shorter spurts. I don't like huge debates, and I don't like reading 8-10 paragraph replies and coming up with responses to every point. I'm tired of deep internet discussion in regards to D&D formatted topics.

I still remember how we ripped into poor Crackyflipside on the old SA boards.

Perhaps we ought to start a discussion, rather than a debate? With explicit intructions that long-winded, self righteous posts will be deleted? tounge.gif

How's about:

Contemporary Art: What purpose does it serve to you?

or

Simulated vs Real Experience

or

Sex with robots: When does it start, and will they swallow?

Liking it! When'll it be up? tounge.gif

Uh, not sure. Might work on it this weekend, but I have my other piece to worry about.

Scratch that. I am prolly not going to do this idea. It will require to much giga-bites of my brain to produce something, when I still am struggling with my current one. Here's the problem:

1) I am sorta having Writer's Block

2) I've been away for awhile, so getting back in the groove will be challenging

3) I am very complex. I seem to have this superly-overactive imagination that tends to get in my way. Meaning, each time I attempt to add more onto my piece, I can't continue the mood, thought process and such that I once had. I always have fresh ideas, but I can't continue my previous ones. That is why I always have to write a story in one day, or the "feeling" is gone...

If for some odd reason someone wants to expand the idea, go right ahead. But ya'll have a much britter mind of your own anyways.

I'm exactly the same about not being able to get back into the same mood - that's why I'm re-writing NFTU as AOM. I still got what I've written (and the original chapters I did for NOUAS back in May) just in case.

Right now my only two priorities are AOM and SYN - which I'm not quite sure when either will be done as I've got writersblock again - but I'm definitely blotting out any other ideas I may have until I finish those. It's the only way I'll ever get things done.

What I find that's really annoying is that I can get things started but then it takes ages to finish them, solely because I keep getting new ideas and then concrentrate on those. Like Eminence said, I really need to focus on one project at a time, and right now that's AOM.

I too am experiencing a writer's block. Hoepfully I can get Dave Soarez over with by next week. I'll admit, it sucks but I want to see the ending of it before I do anything else. A possible sequel? Who Knows. Since Christmas is coming up soon. I thought about posting a Christmas-based story(Possibly a short story) I came up with an idea for a story.

A Christmas Oddyssey: After promising his parents he'll visit for Christma. 20-year old college student, Connor Willis ventures his way home along with his two high school friends, David, Kimberly and Mark. The holiday season is a time of joy, but for them is chaos. Their car breaks down, and now must go the distance to make it home even if it includes busting a drug cartel, messing with a gang of bikers, and saving Santa Claus himself all in the same day!

Anuses are indeed holey.

That aside, I hope you shake off that writersblock, HHH! It really sucks and is frustrating when you can't function properly.

I speak from experience. suicidal.gif

Anyway, what I initially came to say was; I'm torn as to whether or not to add bios for two new minor characters of AOM to the summary. One of which is the models' agent and the other is a taxi driver - both of which play out entire scenes - but I still wouldn't exactly class them as 'main characters', y'know? Hmm...

Why not have seperate sections, clearly marked "Major characters" and "Minor characters"?

I am currently working on my first chapter-style story about an Italian-Polish drug dealer named Anthony Massereli (might change his name later). Anthony thinks of himself as Small-Time and is desperate to earn more money and make a name for himself in an empire of murderers and thiefs until something horrible happens and he finds himself in a "Shi*tload" of trouble and in debt with corrupt and pychotic individuals.

It will most likely be graphic and true to life, meaning no absurd paragraphs and accounts or guns that wouldn't be used in real life.

Also, I am working on a short story called A Simple Mugging. It is about a man who takes a walk one day and reflects on what his life and lifestyle was like and now is. I'm kind of puzzled on how to end it though.

Got a brand new mini-series on ice till early next year called Mobile. I'm not gonna properly plan it all out until AOM and SYN are finished - those two are 110% my main priorities until both are complete. But the plot is as follows:

It's gonna be about government hitmen receiving text messages on their cell phones coming from Washington with bios of their targets attached. It'll probably be 8 parts long as a whole and each chapter will follow a different agent with a different mark - all tying together for an ominous final. I'm working on a way to make it a little bit 'interactive' with readers.

I may use characters intended for NOUAS/SSOAS instead of writing any sequels (sorry!) as this stuff is actually pretty cool (even if I do say so myself tounge2.gif ). There'll be themes of terrorism with tube station explosions, corporation building raids, drive-bys/shoot-outs and a rather sinister laboratory at the heart of the deadly conspiracy.

I'm hoping it'll be ready for either January of Febuary at the latest. Right now I'm channelling all of my energy into finishing AOM (my last ever snuffiction) and SYN. ph34r.gif

Wow. I really like that idea Oxi! I agree you should write AOM & SYN first though, which to be honest I think sound better then Mobile. But this definitely is something I will be looking forward to. Of course I would still like to see SSOAS, but its up to you man.

Ryunday - Hee. I'm glad you like. The assassins won't be proper agents, they're all U.S. officials of some kind, and are scattered across the globe to carry out their individual operations. Some do it for money, others are blackmailed, and some for elusive reasons. They're a pretty ruthless bunch! ph34r.gif

Well, I'm gonna use the best elements of SSOAS for Mobile, so you'll still get more-or-less the same thing, just non-affiliated with SYN (which'll probably be better off as a stand-alone piece).

Eminence - I know! lol.gif

But I am doing things one at a time. I'm gonna write AOM, finish SYN and then start Mobile sometime next year, once I've completed the other two. I'm definitely gonna do Mobile, but right now, it's just an idea till I've gotten things done.

I’m really like the sound of this.

I would of liked to see SSOAS but this sounds very god as well. And combine elements from SSOAS could help improve this. Can I be expecting a assassination in a certain place in the Australian outback?

I'm very pleased you do! colgate.gif

There'll definitely be governmental assassinations/covert military operations in Australia, Iraq, Berlin and Russia (goes without saying there'll also be agents in the UK and US). I haven't thought of any exact locations yet as I don't wanna risk Mobile taking away any interest in AOM and SYN.

I like the diversity of the countries and the possible ways the location itself could effect the assassinations/military operations. For example in places like Australia and the UK where the governments are friendlier the agents could approach their targets easier. But in other countries that aren’t so friendly with America they wouldn’t be able to easily reach there targets.

Anyway I will be looking forward to this, AOM and SYN. icon14.gif

I'm glad you're looking forward to 'em! I am too in a non-egotistical way. tounge2.gif

You're a very good guesser about certain targets being easier to get to than others. The conflict caused by the fallout of some assignments could very easily trigger a war between countries too... but is that part of the agenda? It's all very ominous.

When I do get around to writing it, I've a feeling I'll be turning Mobile into a full-blown 20-part-long series instead, as the chapters won't be too lengthy and there's a lot to cover. cool.gif

Some of the agents are very cold-blooded individuals (child killers and terrorist-like executioners with decapitations etc.). I'm not sure whether it'll work but making the story interactive I thought of maybe sending out 'texts' to readers via PM with the details that the agents themselves will receive in the story. If I do - and it's a big if as I don't wanna flood people's inboxes - it'll probably be a few days prior to the chapter being posted to give you guys some time to piece together hidden messages to figure out what could be going on etc.

Ahem! Anyway, I'm completely thinking too much into this at this stage. I'm definitely gonna write AOM now and then finish SYN before I do Mobile - that much I promise. I'm gonna do it in that order 'cause I'm in a major dark/snuff mood right now and once I finish SYN I'll be in that complex/governmental mood ready for Mobile (which might be my last fiction for the forseeable future). ph34r.gif

I sense a busy 2008 is in store...

This might be your second book. After the three part book for you snuffictions I have already suggested. But concentrate on AOM & SYN first.

Anyway I have an idea for a rant, TJ I think has seen me go on them before, based on this. Except it will be a open letters to writers. I am writing it for fun, but it will be interesting to give it a try. It will be interesting to have a go at doing something like this. I am planning to talk about things like the obstacles we create for our selves during the whole writing process (Oxi being a prime example tounge.gif). Hopfully you guys should get a few laughs out of it. I have another short story I want to write first, and I’m working on other things, but I will try to have it up soon.

Had another great idea! Too bad I'm not writing it though...

I have a new idea for a story. Due to the time and thought process of it, I will prolly not do it. I'm, for some reason, unable to continue stories the day after. Then again, I do much better when I write it on paper than to just grab ideas while typing. Anyways, here it is:

<Untitled: Haven't thought of one yet>

In a quiet section of the sub-urbs, Jack Holeson was another of the thousands of citizens who made a decent living. After hours of hard work and frustration, nothing. Yet, he took his time and spent it on a trip to the 'wilderness.'

With his friend, they spent the scorching summer there. But night came and danger came upon them. But is the least of his worries. Something far more worse beyond physical content was to strike... [i'm not spoiling this one]

Little Odd Fact: The protagonist, Jack Holeson, was derived from the title Black Hole Sun, the song a was listening to while thinking of this story. It's by Soundgarden by the way.

I'm doing this GTA LCS story and it's about I write something and other writers write something following these possibilities I give them. Exactly like LCS chain storyline but I wanted my own. I love writing about LCS stories with Toni and I'm also going to write a story all by myself and now I just thought the story should be on other writers telling me what to write and make it an interesting story. The good part about writing stories for GTA is that you can put fights your way in your location at your time. So it's fun and exciting writing GTA stories and I say that more GTAForum members should write their own stories their way biggrin.gif
