Halle-bloody-lujah. I've finally had the break through I've been itching for with regards to my not-so-little writer's block problem. If I don't have the first chapter of AM at least half written by the weekend, then I'll do an hero.

I think I'm going to be considered a writer largely influenced by science fiction at this rate; aside from my current project, I'm jotting down ideas for three future planned works that are all science-fiction based; This Bitter Earth, Bought Big Ben and an as of yet untitled effort describing an evolutionary process on the planet Jupiter.

After receiving one of those spam mails where a guy in some african country says that he is the manager of a bank and that there's millions waiting for you, I kind of had an idea:

 

An average joe is checking his email and sees this e-mail, but just for the heck of it, he replies. Some days later, he checks how much he has on his account, and it says that millions where deposited there. He then goes from an average joe to a rich guy, buying mansions, cars and getting lots of girls. He then receives a life-threatening call (or something like that) saying that the money he had is from some major criminal and that he wants it all back, but since the main character spent it all, he needs to get it back while the criminal is in his tail.

 

Although not the best plot ever, I think it would be pretty interesting, but I don't think I would make the most out of it. Screw it, I'll try.

A bit cliche, but it could work well. How do you plan to write it?

The thing is: I don't plan to write it (at least for now) because my writing style sucks. I can't get it right. The grammar is never good enough, I commit the most awful mistake, the theme is always cliché and I can't give the right amount of details.

 

Yeah, I know. "Post more stuff here for feedback!" Easy to say, but hard for a perfectionist-esque guy to do.

Watched that Jesse James film with Brad Pitt in earlier tonight has made me wanna get back into writing for some western-themed, outlaw-ish kinda thing. I am, however, pretty clueless about the genre, so it might take a bit too much research.

 

Also, I've recently bought and been playing Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, so I'm itching to write some kind of archaelogical adventure thing. Anything really. I havenn't written in ages and, whilst I've kept reminding myself to do so, just haven't really been bothered. It's a shame, as I used to quite enjoy it.

This reminds me of that gay superhero idea Craig and Luke wrote awhile back, I think they stopped because of poor reception.

Yeah, and both of them had proved themselves as good writers, yet still it wasn't very good. I've sen Chunk post around here and he is quite a good writer. I haven't seen you around tomtom55, and I think it'd be much better writing something, well, better before going off to write some slapstick comedy. It sounds like something along the lines of Epic Movie, Superhero Story kinda films, only even less funny. And I didn't think that was possible.
