What happened to that Algonquin Assassins-esque topic I think it was Wanted Assailant planned on doing? Now that I've checked that topic, I'm quite looking forward to participating in the WD version.

Shortly. wink.gif I'm actually working on the last bit of it now.

A collaborative WD Algonquin Assassins? Never heard about that, but sounds awesome, I'm in on this if it happens.

Most of my short story ideas are taking place in the world of B.U.Y.G. at the moment. I was thinking it might be interesting to have a B.U.Y.G. topic here where people can post their stories to be read and criticized instead of simply being rated for money.

How would it be BUYG, then? In what way are you saying... start up a new one here that doesn't actually have the game elements and people just write stories? Or start up a new one here where all of the normal game rules apply but it just leaves the pieces open to be viewed and criticized by others?

I dunno, interactive things are enjoyable, but with it already taking place elsewhere on the forum, I question the necessity for it here.

No I'm referring to a topic where people who participate in B.U.Y.G. can post their gang related stories in order to receive criticism and feedback that doesn't relate to how much money their gang makes from it. It would help introduce casual writers to the wonder that is Writer's Discussion and maybe urge them to write outside the B.U.Y.G. canon. Are you following me?

Example:

Billy-Joe has just written a story for The Leone Family Mafia and posted it in the B.U.Y.G. Topic. Billy-Joe decides he wants some feedback/criticism on his work and thus decides to come to Writer's Discussion for some. Instead of creating a new topic for his story, Billy-Joe can simply post it in the B.U.Y.G. topic along with all the other members and await feedback.

Ah, I getcha. So basically those who want to can just transfer their pieces from over there into here for some criticism if they're looking at their writing from a more serious point of view than simply for the game. Perhaps, I guess. I'm not sure how many people would instantly decide to critique it, but it could work.

I might be leaving BUYG,so is it okay if I post the stories I was going to post there here in the WD?

Why do you need to make your own B.U.Y.G. topic? We already have one of those. I was more referring to a place where people can post their stories to receive criticism. You're talking about making your own B.U.Y.G. altogether.

I like Gabe's idea, I've always been meaning to trawl through all the BUYG topics and make a showcase of all the stories, some are great pieces of work.

I am going to post the stories I had planned for BUYG here. Also I can take liberties with them that I couldn't in BUYG(like including Science Fiction elements such as genetic engineering, vampirism, and biological weapons)

Got a little somehing up my sleeve (and I mean miniscule) that I'm using in an attempt to get back into this writing game. I'm keeping it close to my chest but it'll see the return of two of my first original characters. ph34r.gif Any guesses?

I'm still going over the idea of writing a chapter based zombie story. I'm unsure where to set it. Whether to set it in a real city, use a preexisting city from the GTA-canon or to create my own unique city. What do you think? I'm taking a lot of influence from a myriad of sources like I Am Legend, 28 Days Later, Dead Rising & Left 4 Dead. Look out for it sometime in the future!

As am I, although I always have been and probably always will be! tounge.gif Just imagining up the scenarios without actually writing anything is half the fun for me regarding that particular genre, and it's something I've done for ages without really putting it into action.

I think all of the possibilities you've stated would be great, and would add an intriguing twist to whichever type of narrative you choose. Creating your own city would lend so many possibilities, while setting it in a real city would have a realistic feel reminiscent of films you stated, such as 28 Days Later. Setting it in a GTA city, while perhaps then turning into a 'fanfic with a twist', would also be intriguing, with the familiar locales - it'd again be an extreme amount of fun to think up and execute.

Whatever you choose, I'll definitely be interested in giving it a read; zombie stories are a personal favourite! tounge.gif

I'm hoping to break the current trend of "urban zombies" (28 Weeks Later, I Am Legend). The easiest way I can think of doing that at this moment is time is by setting it in the San Andreas outback. Maybe in one of the smaller townships in the state.

Though I have had an idea for a "Village Of The Dead" story, which will feature similar social commentary to that seen in a Romero film. Being from a village myself I hope to include some of my own experiences to help create a realistic look into village life.

Wanted Assailant

Using a city for the GTA canon is a bit... eh. Your own setting could always work the way you want it, and a real city setting could bring the full effect to life.

I'm going to post the saga of Sora Hasegawa,a character I used in BUYG.Because I am more free in the WD,I will post her full story, including how the Yakuza betrayed her. This also means I can kill characters I couldn't kill in BUYG,most importantly a character named Hajime(credit to Gabriel Constantin for creating that character)

Of course, what gang should she side with to get revenge? This is set in 2008 in Liberty City, but GTA3 never happened,so Salvatore Leone is still alive, but I was also leaning for her to flee to Appalachia(the region where I came from) where she meets a biker gang. So,who should she side with when the Yakuza betrays her?The honorable Leone Family Mafia or the infamous biker gang known as the Outlaws?

Either way,she will get her revenge on the Yakuza.

Wanted Assailant

Her ties with the Leones could escalate the alliance between a former-Yakuza and the Mafia.

The Yakuza sees this former member, and angered by this joining of a rival. The Leones are happy for an informer who knows the works of the Japanese family. The tension between these two organized crime groups can result into a full-blown, historic war.

My cents.

I'm thinking of a story of "What would happen if GTAF was never made?". I think it will involve a large number of suicides and murders.

So what do you think of this idea?

I read a book the other day about a guy who just sits around all day... sending letters to obscure companies with an alias name.. just to waste their time, and they take him seriously.

So this can be done either by email or letters...

I find a company (e.g National Table Tennis Accoiation), send them a letter with an alias name, either mivering them about something or just writing something stupid, but real enough for somebody to interperet it seriously... then post the letter and reply on here.

Example:

He sent a letter to a company called chippendales, which was a furniture company. In the letter he said that his wife had seen their act four times and he would like a signed autograph for her... then the reply was handwritten and said "We are the furniture company! Not the strippers!"

So Basically make a whole collection of these and post them in to a topic

Eh.. it was a lot funnier than I make it sound on here

Thoughts?

So is it okay to include sexual elements in my stories?(nothing graphic, just references and such,no major details)

After reading a graphic and rather filthy story on here,I don't know if he violated the rules or not.
