Hey Chickstick - can you please comment on my idea?

Hey Saltine - your right, look at BBB. If he really wanted to then he could pull it off.

@longkiss: I agree, it's a decent idea. Why not have a go at writing it yourself? As far as I'm aware you've never posted anything. smile.gif

Actually I did - Chickstick. But my writing sucks and people did give me reviews but all I did is argue and I didn't want to change my 2 stories that I posted on here because I didn't no how too. And I am just not talented - you are just like the "legends" on the website. I prefer to just to sit on the "bleachers" and just read the stories.

Hey Oblivionz or to who ever else it may concern - I am sorry but I ain't doing it anymore. I am retired.

*(Although - I am secretly working on it but I am not posting it on here - anymore)*

To get better at writing you need to write more.

Take our criticism and use it to get better, but before we can give you that you need to show us what you're capable of. Give it a try.

Yo homies

I'm hyped for writing after the amazing feedback I got for "I did not kill her..."... but unfortunatly writer's block has hit me like a SCUD missile.

I'm stuck, willing to accept any writer's challenges or ideas.

Do I

- Think of a new story?

- Do a fan-fic (BORING!)

- Finish Nothing Can Stop You Part II (Stopped due to poor feedback)

- Write a prequel or sequel to "I did not kill her"

- Finish "Dear Hannah"

- Re-Write "My Finest day"

- Add more years to "History Of The Future"

Desicions decisions... let me know what you guys think

Go for a new story mate. Keep original and you'll keep the spark for writing. You've done the hard part, gotten people to read what you wrote. Now all you need is to keep them hooked. And how does one do that? Through constant unpredictability!

Go nuts, a story is just a story, no tale is too outlandish to avoid an attempt. Follow your gut and, hopefully, it should all come naturally.

Formulating another story idea as we speak...

Tried to write it ages ago and kinda forgot..

Anyway yeah I will formulate it tommorow while day-dreaming in college

Expect:

Hillbillies

Tents

Bears

Blood

Severed Limps

Wolves

Hitchhikers

Frightening noises at 2:45 AM in the arse end of the wilderness

Okay i've put the lost in the woods story on hiatus and decided to try a massive fanfic tounge.gif

Dunno if it will be GTA based or totally origional

Trying a fanfic? Well, give it your best shot. Hope it works out.

But whilst I'm here I may as well pose an open question: What makes a good ghost story?

What makes a good ghost story?

I'm no horror expert, but I've found that the best scary stories have a huge element of suspense in there. Leave the reader hanging at certain points, but not too much, while at the same time trying to keep them on the edge of their seat, uncomfortable with no real relaxation or comic relief. Use this along with good diction and an original story and I think you could pull of a ghost story.

I'm sure Pat or the other horror writer's could give you better advice, but that's just my take.

But yeah, pretty much everything he said. A common mistake with ghost stories, is that the author shows some of the story in the point of view of the ghost. I would highly recommend against this. And remember, your audience doesn't have to know about the ghost to know the place is haunted. Give them subtle hints, such as chills in the house when the thermostat reads, say, 72 degrees.

This is just the Stephen King fan in me, but if you want to work on a ghost story, I'd suggest you take a look at some of his novels such as 1408. Remember, ghost stories don't always have to involve human ghosts.

Thank you both for your adive, it is very much appreciated. I do dabble with the odd bit of Stephen King (Trying to read The Stand currently) and he has some good tricks up his sleeve and...some not so brilliant quirks (A great villain turning out to be a giant alien spider).

The ghost story is one of three "stories within a story", offering a (possible) explaination as to why a family has been continuously threatened and dogged. Subtle scares, as Pat said, are the way to go.

I've got something cooking here.

I am going to start working on a new story - this summer - right after my school finishes up. It is called: Evil Never Dies. I am going to write a summary right now. (People please comment about what you think of my summary). Brian Spanks is a demon hunter along with his team. (He has been hunting evil for quite a while now). His boss: David Lendberg sends him to take down one final army of demons (before retiring). But things go wrong - upon meeting the army - his team is slaughtered but one person manages to survive: Jay Pont. Jay is a long time friend of Brian but Jay was scratched by the boss of the army and soon turn into a demon.

Sounds cool. I'll definitely be looking forward to that, we need more horror stories around here.

Off topic and unnecessary:

And when I posted my Gettin Back story - I only posted one page and people started arguing with me. Tony and Cuban started making up there own story on my own story.

Hilarious sh*t.

Anybody want to write Mobile (you can re-name it to whatever you want if you don't like that title - another title I had in mind for it was Bad Company) and claim it - other than the idea and characters (I got a rather hot cast of mugshots for those too if needed wink.gif ) - as their own?

I seriously can't even begin to think of writing it until I've finished AOM - at at this rate Mobile/Bad Company probably wouldn't be done until August/Fall. So...

If you wanna, it's relatively short: only 1 chapter (oneshot) consisting of 4 scenes which you could post separately as a sort of "mini series" if the fancy took you.

PM me for the script/dialogue and everything else you'll need if you're interested. <3

I'm really not sure about Srce, guys. Before I started writing it, I got all giddy and couldn't wait, but now I'm underway, I'm thinking...hmm. This doesn't seem right, that doesn't seem right. I'm thinking of stopping it, considering that traffic isn't going quite well. confused.gif

Sounds a bit Buffy the Vampire Slayer but it could be all right, if you filled it in.

A cool idea I got for a story recently, would be based on the latino crime syndicate, Mara Salvatrucha a.k.a., MS13, as one of the most powerful organized gangs in the United States and South America, presently. The story would be called "Top 10", which would focus on the daily lives of the 10 most Wanted men in south central Los Angelas.

check out this link: http://www.lapdonline.org/top_ten_most_wanted

To be on this list, to the members of these competing latino gangs and factions, solidifies your street credibility and "rep" on the streets. So there's a lot of pressure to stay on the list and also people actually vying for negative notoriety to get on the list for their own personal reputation.

I think a show or story, in the vein of The Wire, based on this concept, of 10 very different individuals caught up in the various intrigues and situations that come with being on this list would make an excellent book or television series.

Bloody hell. You, my dear friend, just stumbled upon a genius idea. A truly great idea. Top 10 wanted criminals. Ten different stories.

If anything I would suggest that you do not hobble yourself by making them all Latin guys. By all means go nuts, be inventive with your characters above all else.

The "Top 10" idea sounds awesome. You should definitely make an attempt, because that's a brilliant idea. Just as long as it's a narrative and not a script. icon14.gif

I was thinking of making a survival type thing after I improve my writing, based on the game Notrium. It's set in the future and you have crash landed on an alien planet. It'll probably be written like a diary or a journal. This is how the main character looks in the game, and probably will in the story.

I was also thinking of translating a chaptered story from a magazine series. It's called "The diary of a preagnant man", and it's about men's preagnancy issues (But their wives are preagnant, not them).

I'll do this after I improve my writing, maybe... The Taste of Liberty project will be halted for a while, since I have personal issues to clear up, and have to come up with the plot, and how to expand the story to a full-scaled GTA story, set in VC, Carcer, SA, and maybe Bullworth too.

I like the idea of having crash landing on an alien planet. And by the way that character looks very familiar to me. Is he the character from that upcoming horror game that takes place in space; Dead Space but in a different color?

It's from a very addictive freeware game called Notrium. There you have to kill for food, build your weapons and... well, stay alive.

I won't link but just Google it up wink.gif.

What exactly is this story about? Please explain

A family is hounded and hunted down until they seek safety in a house that overlooks a vast Marshland. The story looks back at what drove them there. All three caracters having made an enemy who could be responsible for the campaign of terror. If I do it correctly the reader will be able to argue strongly for any one of the possible candidates.
