stingray.
@stingray, the Charger just sucks because it's a 4 door It'd look tons better a little lower and wider, at least. The new Charger won't suck, even as a 4-door. Infact, I'm almost confident that it will stomp the Camaro and G8 in every possible way. I trust Chrysler. Though, I still hope it goes back to being a coupe. @topic: It's very hard, because I don't like any of those cars much. But here's the order of my preference: 1. Mazda RX-7: Adequate power, good looks, fast, light... The only downfall is the mileage which the Wankel Rotary engines are renowned for. 2. Nissan 350Z: Love the fastback bodystyle, hate the cabin. 3. Toyota Supra Edited October 15, 2008 by stingray132
Starion
The 350z should really be changed for a 99' 300zx. It would fit next to the Supra and RX7 better. I would still pick the RX7 over the Nissan and the Toyota though, they seem much more sought after where I live. mod it with Nitrous Oxide and chassis dyno. Drunk Russian 9
Where exactly are those acceleration numbers and weights coming from? Supra's weight is impossible to find I have no idea why. All the specs I looked at omitted it and left the field blank. It's like a mystery . . . Also, I swear finding specs for supra and rx7 was extremely hard . . . if anyone got any links, please post. I think this is a pretty fair matchup though . . . compared to the others. The 350Z is accurate though. Edited October 15, 2008 by Drunk Russian

Most weights I see for the Supra say 3515 lbs. And an 02 RX-7 should have 276 hp. Everything else seems fairly accurate.
Picolini
While rotarys are unique and intrigue me, I'd stick with a "tried and true" piston engine. That said, the Supra would probably win due to a lower/similar weight and higher horsepower. Despite it being played out, even. It's probably a little roomier than a 350z as well. Also, targa top. I don't know about the roomier part. I'm 6'4" and my head only came up slightly past the window on a Z, with more than enough leg-room. I slept in the driver's seat on long trips as well. Picolini
Hmmm... they just seem a bit small to me. I sat in one a few years back, but only for a minute (auto show) so I didn't get a full experience. My Camaro is actually lower by an inch or two than a 350z (and I've got a sagging headliner, so take off 2-3 inches of head room), but it's also a bit wider which is my main necessity since I'm... well kinda wide Of course body width and height doesn't equate to actual driver space, but I'd assume I've got a little more room to move in the Camaro than the 350, at least width wise. My Beretta seems so cramped compared... don't know how I lived with that! It was much more snug, to say the least

stingray.
Cadillac XLR MSRP: $85,360 EPA Fuel Economy (City/Hwy): 15/24 Engine: 320-hp, 4.6-liter V-8 Transmission: 6-speed automatic 0-60 mph (sec): 5.9 (C&D) Panoz Esperante MSRP: $92,256 EPA Fuel Economy (City/Hwy): 17/25 Engine: 305-hp, 4.6-liter V-8 Transmission: 5-speed manual 0-60 mph (sec): 5.4 (est) BMW 650i Convertible MSRP: $83,700 EPA Fuel Economy (City/Hwy): 14/21 Engine: 360-hp, 4.8-liter V-8 Transmission: 6-speed manual 0-60 mph (sec): 5.3 (est) By the way, the Esperante was just thrown in there for fun. I would've put in the Jaguar XK, but then the decision becomes too simple. At first, I was about to put the Lexus SC, but it's price undercuts both the Panoz and the XLR by about 25k and 20k respectively. lurchseesu420
Despite the build quality sucking, I'd take the Esperante just because it's an actual sports car. I believe it weighs more than half a ton less than the other two as well.
MindCorrupt
the BMW 650i for sure. Not a fan of the body shape of the caddy and the interior on the panoz is hideous, i mean what kind of crackhead puts the intstruments in the center of the dash?. For the price as well, I reckon youre getting a whole lot more in the BMW. Plus it looks gangsta in black.

I believe it weighs more than half a ton less than the other two as well. If that's true, then I'm with you. Despite the fact that it looks like a curvier Miata. My next pick would be the XLR, I love how it looks. Just needs an LS7 in it Tried to keep up with one of these in the rain a little bit back and my back end swung out, going about 45mph! Don't know how he kept the traction...

Don't know how he kept the traction... I'm guessing it had something to do with the fact that his car wasn't pieced together by Mexican day laborers......And the fact that he also had wider rear tires and TRACTION CONTROL. Picolini
Lol well I know it has wider tires, and I assumed traction control. But it's also got more than double the horsepower! And I don't think rednecks in Kentucky could do a better job assembling a car than some little Mexican children. It was fun though, having my back end swing out a good 20 degrees to the right at 45mph...
stingray.
My first pick would be the Esperante. Screw the interior, I would have one of the rarest cars on the street. The only major concern is that it's well past its replacement date. Actually, I'd dish out another 5k and get the GT. The Bimmer would be a close second. I was actually quite surprised it's cheaper than the XLR. The XLR has nothing going for it.
Starion
Meh. I'd have the 650i, it's not only the cheapest, but I would just feel like I've picked up more car for the money, if you get what I mean. The Panoz is a strange pick though, but it is very nice. mod it with Nitrous Oxide and chassis dyno.

33stradale
Nice job picking a car that wasn't in the list I try... Ok new one, for the British youth I've begun to love so, I'll edit it pretty in the morning: Renault Clio V6 (for the drivers) or Toyota Yaris vvti (For the scared) or Skoda Octavia VRS (for the visually retarded) That's slightly biased I admit, there's also the Seat Ibiza sport and I think Rover/MG did something almost worthwile and the Corsa. Starion
Replace the Clio V6 with a Renaultsport one, please. Aren't the Clio V6's mid engine, meaning.. well. It has no rivals. Theres not exactly a big mid engine hatchback market at the moment. mod it with Nitrous Oxide and chassis dyno.
kevin2006rhs
Nah...the Clio is a Euro market compact car with an assortment of available I4 motors. You are thinking of the Renault Clio V6 Renault Sport or Renault Clio Sport 24V V6. It is a heavily reworked version of the Clio made into a mid-engined "hot hatch". Top Gear review: God damn I want one. Gran Turismo 3 got me addicted to those little things. So cool.
