tuff_luv_capo
Me and Sip Sip and I did this topic way back. Basically you take three cars, trucks or what have you that are in the same class, and list all their stats as well as pictures, and poll it out to see who wins amongst the crowd. I'll start it off. Category: Mid-class Sport/Luxury Sedan 2007 Nissan Altima MSRP: 24,000 Engine: VQ35 (V6) 3.5 Horsepower/Torque: 270/258 Drivetrain: FWD Transmission: 6 Speed Manual MPG City/Highway: 21/29 Curb Weight: 3268 Wheel Size: 17 x 7.5 (All) Passenger Capacity: 5 Passenger Volume: 100.7 Cubic Feet --------------------------------------- 2007 Mazda MAZDA6 MSRP: 26,050 Engine: L3X (V6) 3.0 Horsepower/Torque: 212/197 Drivetrain: FWD Transmission: 5 Speed Manual MPG City/Highway: 19/27 Curb Weight: 3320 Wheel Size: 18 x 7.0 (All) Passenger Capacity: 5 Passenger Volume: 96.1 Cubic Feet --------------------------------------- 2007 Acura TSX MSRP: 28,090 Engine: K24A2 (I4) 2.4 Horsepower/Torque: 205/164 Drivetrain: FWD Transmission: 6 Speed Manual MPG City/Highway: 22/30 Curb Weight: 3257 Wheel Size: 17 x 7 (All) Passenger Capacity: 5 Passenger Volume: 91 Cubic Feet
silvermanblue
I am not a big fan of Asian automobiles, but if I had a choice the altima would be mine. Always liked those cars Leone Family Mafia ПРОПАГАНДА.ИНЦ, СИЛВЕРМАНБЛУЕ
Picolini
I say the Altima, hands down. More power than both, 2nd place in mileage, 6 gear tranny, and the lowest priced. It may come behind in interior design and materials than the Lexus Acura, and maybe even the Mazda, but for the other pros I listed they make up for it, imo. -slash
Altima. 1) It's a Nissan. 2) It has a fair bit more grunt. 3) Going on from two, is second lightest, and doesn't miss out of being lightest by much. ie Power to weight ratio. 4) It's a Nissan. Suction Testicle Man
No contest - Altima. It's got that extra power, and that bit more interior space, yet isn't the heaviest and still attains a respectable mpg. And it's the cheapest by 2k. I would usually like the Mazda's styling, but I'm so f*cking bored of that design now (whored it everywhere - see the Honda) that something like the Nissan looks quite refreshing. Like a luxury 350z. So even on design, I'd take the Nissan. If at first you don't succeed, you fail, and the test will be terminated.
Guybrush Threepwood
I'd pick the Altima for one reason only: it's the cheapest. None of them tickle my nuts, or look particularly good, so when it comes down to 'hey, which car do I want to drive every day?', I'd pick the Altima and use the leftover 2k to go on vacation. Black-hawk
Hah, that Acura TSX is badged as a Honda Accord in Europe. I'd pick the HondaAcura.
SIP YEK NOD
i like the look of the mazda a lot more, but for the price and the power, i would be all over the altima. bring the mazdaspeed 6 into this, however..... 270hp through a 6 speed manual and all wheel drive in a design i actually like, all over it like white on rice. tuff_luv_capo
@silverman- The only Nissan products made in Japan are the 350z, G35 and Murano. The Altima is built in America. If that matters. Anyone wanna go next? Or should I do another?

A.Fonz
I would buy something good instead seriously tho If I had to choose it would be the honda accord and the volkswagon, those are the only ones that tickle my fancy considering the options. silvermanblue
Subaru FTW, it's heela different than its predicessors but I could get use to the styling. And 320 HP pure butsechs. @TLC yeah I am aware that nissan produces the altima here. Leone Family Mafia ПРОПАГАНДА.ИНЦ, СИЛВЕРМАНБЛУЕ

stretch.
Rather have the Focus ST, 2.5 Duratec ST 6 Speed Manual, 225 PS/222 bhp 236 lb/ft at 1600 - 4000 rpm 30.4 MPG Combined 6.5 seconds to 60mph 225/40 R18 Wheels on cast aluminum rims And it just pwn on the looks. Larger boot than the rest, renowned for being one of the best handling cars on the road and very spacious, also has a 5 star euro N Cap saftey rating if I'm not mistaken. Shame you Americans don't get it.
Rocketkiller
The STI isn't even in that class, the plain WRX is. The STI goes with Evos and such. And I'm 100% sure that the STI is AWD, all Subarus since around 1995 are AWD. But if the WRX was in that comparison, I would pick it, I hate FWD cars. EvilPenguin
That WRX is massively out of place. The GTI is an entry level hatchback, the Mazdaspeed3 is in a class all its own, and the STI can only ever be compared with the EVO. Ever. A real comparison of hatchbacks would go something like this: GTI vs. Civic Si vs. Focus ST vs. Mazda 3. Those are all fairly evenly matched. We are talkin the Turbo Euro Focus ST right because here in the US the Focus ST has 151 hp. We always get f*cked here when it comes to Imports. Suction Testicle Man
With traction like the A8's, a fool wouldn't pick quattro. But I'm a bit biased since imo Mercs are luxury-trolleys and BMWs are Audis for wankers. Give me a Volks any day. If at first you don't succeed, you fail, and the test will be terminated. Guybrush Threepwood
What with the Phaeton weighing FIVE BILLION TONS and everything, It's a shame really, cause the Pheaton had potential. But around here, nobody buys a volkswagen for that price when you can buy a more 'stately' car for the same ammount. It's just an image problem Volkswagen, unjustly, has. Shame
stretch.
Out of them, I'd take the s-class, Mainly for the infra red lights, go to dogging places and have a chuckle! As for the phaeton, it's a Bentley in Volks clothing. Or is it Bentleys are actually VeeDubs.... meh, it's all the same. And the Euro Focus is waaaaay better than the American one, I mean, gawd you're stuck with last gen technology thanks to your automobile unions and poor economy compared to europe. Would it hurt to use some fullstops? I nearly passed out due to lack of breath. And coppers don't pull you over for not having your p-plates up, how are they to know your a p-plater anyway? My brother never drives with his p-plates up, because he has this crazy idea that p-platers attrack more attention from the fuzz, he has only once been pulled over, and that was for speeding. Believe me cops don't target you because you're a p-plater, they target you becuase you're breaking the law.
