Well it's that time of year again and in a week's time the British Grand Slam is under way.

With some players having pretty good spells coming up to Wimbledon who do you reckon has the skill to compete with Federer this year as he's been in a league of his own in the past couple of years on the grass court, and who will be up for the challenge on the woman's side of the tournament, will Mauresmo clinches Wimbledon title for a 2nd year.

I think Rafa is in with a chance - he's got to have some confidence after defeating Federer many a time of recent.

Womens? Not sure... maybe Henin?

Props to you Seddo, for starting a Wimbledon topic. Anyway, I'm pretty excited. For the mens, I think it'll be Federer. I'm not sure if Nadal will make the finals. Not because of a lack of skill, I just think he's more likely to have a bad match and lose than Federer. That guy Novak Djokovic is pretty good. And for the women, probably Henin. Some contenders could be Sharapova, Serena, and Jankovic. I don't know about Mauresmo, she had a bad outing at the French.

Roger Federer is obviously going to win at men.His opponent in the final, well it could be Roddick,Davydenko,Djokovic or Murray ,if the crowd stands behind him.

In womens,Jelena Jankovic Justine Henin and Serena Williams look like winning it or at least getting far, althought Mauresmo,Sharapova could also win.but we should all keep an eye on that Kid Vaidisova of czezh, she has such a hidden potential....

Tipsarevic did a good job turning it from 0-2 to 3-2,Fernando Gonzales had trouble, but after winning the second in tie-break he gained psyhological advantage and won, other than that no surprises!!! biggrin.gif

I'm pretty upset that Andy Murray isn't in this tournament. I love to see how fast us American men lose. The only real hope is Andy Roddick and James Blake.

Bjorn Borg ain't that great either, I mean I could probably win five straight Wimbledon titles if I put a little effort and my mind too it...Boo Ali and his love for the long-haired Spaniard (some homosexuality in that I assume)!

Fantastic effort by Federer, played superbly, but can't take anything away from Nadal who played very well, but was simply outclassed in the end by the better opponent. I expect in the next three years Rafa, should win atleast one Wimbledon title as he is the only player that is up there with Federer's class at the moment.

Wow, that was a great match. I was rooting for Federer, but I do feel bad for Rafa. I think he deserved to win and he definitely gave a great effort, but that just shows how great Federer is: even when he doesn't look 100%, he is still the best in the world. (Well, at least for now. If Nadal keeps up this improvement, maybe not). But anyway, hats off to both guys and I'm glad Federer tied Borg.

I haven't really watched any Wimbledon games this year wow.gif don't no why.

Probably expected Federer to win anyway especially as it's on the grass surface, don't now why he cried it's not like it's the first time he won it.

And the sheman Venus Williams won the womans title.

Henin should have won. Not sure how she managed to lose the semi, but the final was a mismatch and a half. Better Venus than Serena, though.

Federer is amazing.

i watched the mixed doubles final.

Lolz to the crowd who yelled for a big out at 40-0 at match point...lol it made me laugh but i''m glad because of Murray family and ofcourse because a Serb won something on tour.Federer was an expected winner for me and Venus woudnt win if she would have met Henin but that fat girl Bartoli ruined it all!!Just cant belive howw shee beat Jankovic and henin in quarters and semis??
