Arvis
whats the face and polygon limits for GTA VC? I imported my model ingame but the game crashes, i think it has too much faces/poly's.
xrk
Theres a limit for the coll (2000 max) but no limit for the models.

dertyjerzian
Out of curiosity, is this same rule applied to SA models? Or did collision accept higher poly count this time?
xrk
In Sa theres no coll or model poly limit afaik.
DexX
but there are other limits in SA. one of them is the model size, which cannot be more than 255 units (see the info that comes with steve m's coleditor 2). There's also a filesize limit, where if the col file is over a certain filesize, the game will crash. i think, working from memory here, it was around 15kb. dertyjerzian
255 makes sense since it won't draw until your within 300 units of the model's center, that probably was planned that way for efficiency and I'd bet it helped with a lot of "pop up" when they made Sa (remember the talks "less clumping, less pop up"?). I can't verify that 15kb, but that sure would be plenty of collision data at that file size, I haven't reached 15kb yet. Good to hear poly count is (im sure virtually) unlimited, that clears a LOT of stress my head about how to pull off the final version of the col-bearing part of my bridge. Cheers, happy modding, and all that jazz <

How the hell you get a col that big?
xmen
no man, you can tell the exact value of limit for col as i said, i dunno too as when i made 400 units sphere it crashed and my bridge is above 400 units and working gud i think col limit work on area of model (L x B x H)

xmen
little diff. to understand if you stutied maths then there was area of rectangle(box or cubiod/cube) area = Lenght x Breadth x Height
unopescio
No... Volume = Length x Breadth x Height Area = Length x Breadth.

TheDude5000
Eh, I've imported a model half the size of Bone County and it showed in-game with no problems, so I don't know about those limits.
dertyjerzian
I have finally experienced it, dude5000, I think that DexX was referring to a max size in CEII, not the cols themselves. If you try to create a col using CST or another method other than KAMS ColI/O, it will export them as col 1 format, not the target col3.
